Regeneration

            A. Barrier: Physical birth.

                        a) Physical birth is imparted through human parents.

                        b) Every member of the human race is born spiritually dead (no fellowship with God) — Ephesians 2:5,6; Colossians 2:13 (dead in trespasses and sin).

            B. The work of Christ: Regeneration (New birth)

                        a) Definition:  The supernatural work of God whereby eternal life is imparted by faith to the individual.

                                    1. From the Father — James 1:8.

                                    2. Provided by the Lord Jesus Christ — John 1:11,12; Galatians 3:26.

                                    3. By the agency of the Holy Spirit — Titus 3:5.

                        b) Through regeneration (New Birth) the individual is made spiritually alive — Ephesians 5:26; Colossians 2:13: “hath quickened us together with Christ.”

                        c) New Nature (Human Spirit) in which the edification complex can be built — 2 Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 2:7.

2 Corinthians 5:17, +R imputed to man at salvation.

In salvation our volition is involved only in our decision to accept the Lord Jesus Christ. The five things that happen at the moment of salvation are accomplished by God the Holy Spirit, not by us, therefore they are not an experience.
