DOCTRINE OF THE CUP

A.  In Ps 116:13, the cup is used for an analogy to salvation. “I will lift up to drink the cup of salvation; therefore, I will call upon the name of the Lord.”

B.  The cup represents supergrace blessing.

            1. In Ps 16:5, God pouring into the cup is supergrace blessing. God must vindicate His Word in your soul. “The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup. You hold together my lot.”

            2. Ps 23:5, “You organize a table in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup is overflowing.

            3. Ps 73:10, “Therefore, his people are caused to return to this place; and the waters of the overflow are drained by them.” This implies a cup.

C.  The cup is related to a frantic search for happiness and operation boomerang. Hab 2:15-16, “Cursing to him who causes his companion-lover to drink; the one pouring from his sexual heat and passion to make her drunk, so that he can look and derive sensual pleasure from her nakedness. You have become saturated with shame rather than honor. You drink also and expose your ready phallus. The cup of the Lord’s right hand will surround you [intense discipline], and the spewing of your seduction will cover your honor.”

D.  The cup is used for the discipline of reversionism. Ps 11:6, “He shall cause to run upon the reversionist live coals; fire and brimstone and a burning wind is the portion of their cup.”

E.  The cup is used for divine discipline of a national entity. Ps 75:8; Isa 51:17, “Rouse yourself! Rouse yourself! Rise up, O Jerusalem who have drunk from the hand of Jehovah the cup of His discipline; the goblet- drinking cup of staggering, you have drained it dry.”

F.  The contents of the cup are the sins of the world poured out on Christ at the cross. Mt 20:22, 26:39, 42; Mk 10:38, “Father, if it be Your will let this cup pass from Me.”

G.  The cup is also used for the remembrance of the cross, 1 Cor 11:25-27.

H.  Under reversionism and scar tissue of the soul, the believer develops a cup of capacity for Satanic doctrine, 1 Cor 10:21 cf 1 Tim 4:1.

I.  The Cup in the Tribulation.

            1. The contents are anti-Semitism drunk by nations who appear in Palestine for the Armageddon campaign, Zech 12:2.

            2. The contents of the cup are the system of religion and the false doctrine of the beast, Rev 14:9-11, 18:4. __________________________________________________________________________
