DOCTRINE OF EARS

 

A.  Ears are used for the function of GAP, Rev 2:7, 11, 17, 29; Prov 18:15; Job 34:1-3.

 

B.  Ears are used for supergrace dedication, Ps 40:6; Ex 21:6; Deut 15:17.

 

C.  The ear is used for negative volition to doctrine, Jer 6:10.

 

D.  The ear is used to portray reversionism leading to the fifth cycle of discipline, Isa 6:10.

 

E.  The ear was part of the consecration of the priest, Ex 29:20; Lev 8:23. Blood on the right ear indicated the function of the priesthood in studying and teaching the Word.

 

F.  A healed leper had blood placed on his ear to indicate the importance of doctrine in the salvation of hopeless problems, Lev 14:14.

 

G.  Ears of God are used as an anthropomorphism.

            1. David describes the ear as the anthropomorphism of God in his reversion recovery, Ps 34:15.

            2. The ear of God is used as an anthropomorphism in the restoration of Israel from the fifth cycle of discipline, Neh 1:6.

            3. The ear of God is used as an anthropomorphism is contrast with idols who cannot hear, Isa 59:1; Ps 135:17.

 

H.  The ear is associated with gossip, Prov 17:4.
