DOCTRINE OF THE UNPARDONABLE SIN

A. This is the one sin Jesus Christ could not and did not die for on the cross, Jn 3:18, 36. This sin is the rejection of Christ and His work on the cross.

B. This sin is related to the convicting ministry of the Holy Spirit, Gen 6:3; Jn 16:7-11; Heb 10:29.

C. Rejection of Christ is called "sin," Jn 16:9.

D. Synonyms for the unpardonable sin.

1. The willful sin, Heb 10:26.

2. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, Mt 12:31.

3. Resistance of the Holy Spirit, Acts 7:51.

4. Insulting the Holy Spirit, Heb 10:29.

E. Those who are under the unpardonable sin consider the Gospel foolishness, 1 Cor 1:18, 2:14.

F. This sin is characterized by strong delusion, 2 Thes 2:11-12.

G. This sin has its own reversionism, 2 Pet 2:19-22.
