Too much happened this week! Enjoy...

If you receive this and you hate it and you don’t want to ever read it no matter what...that is fine; email me back and you will be deleted from my list (which is almost at the maximum anyway).

Previous issues are listed and can be accessed here:

http://kukis.org/page20.html (their contents are described and each issue is linked to) or here:

http://kukis.org/blog/ (this is the online directory they are in)

I attempt to post a new issue each Sunday by 2 or 3 pm central standard time (I sometimes fail at this attempt).

I try to include factual material only, along with my opinions (it should be clear which is which). I make an attempt to include as much of this week’s news as I possibly can. The first set of columns are intentionally designed for a quick read.

I do not accept any advertising nor do I charge for this publication. I write this principally to blow off steam in a nation where its people seemed have collectively lost their minds.

And if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, always remember: We do not struggle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12).

This Week’s Events

The hole in the gulf appears to have been plugged. There are concerns that the oil pressure is not high enough. What that suggests is, oil may be seeping out elsewhere, However, the pressure is about 80–90% of what BP expected.

The cap, by the way, was the design of an anonymous plumber who sent his idea to BP.

The Senate passed the 2300+ page Financial Reform Acts with 3 Republican votes: Scott Brown, Olympia Snow and Susan Collins.

The NAACP called upon the TEA party movement to condemn racism in its movement, giving examples of signs I have never seen. I searched out “lynch obama” on google images. One of the first images I came across was what appeared to be an installation of Sarah Palin being lynched. Another was a installation of McCain in a KKK outfit chasing Obama. Media matters put together (with a lot of help) some signage which was unfortunate. There weren’t very many, only one was overtly racist, and none of the signs said, “Lynch Obama.” The NAACP has a video of other questionable signs, some of which are funny, and some which I would not carry (Obama as Mr. T was pretty funny to me).

It appears as though the NAACP Legal Defense Fund had a sit down with the Department of Justice concerning the New Black Panthers and the charge of voter intimidation. The NAACP says that they are totally separate organizations.

2 people in Venezuela face 11 year sentences for tweeting the wrong thing.

See if you can follow this. It turns out the Democrats were behind attack ads against a TEA party candidate in Iowa, in the Republican primary. These ads associated this candidate, Terry Branstad, with photos of Reid and Pelosi.

Turns out, after a study was done, most of the hoohah about Toyota’s were driver error, as I suggested months ago. If you think you are pressing down on the brake, and the car goes fast, and you press down even harder, and it goes even faster, that sounds so much like an accelerator to me.

In the trial of Rod Blagojevich, it has become clear that President Obama reached out to Blago through various intermediaries (like union leader Thomas Balanoff), but, so far, there does not appear to be anything offered in return for Blago appointing Valerie Jarrett as Obama’s replacement in the Senate. The 5-page memo released by Greg Craig (later to become the WH attorney) on Dec. 23, 2008 is technically truthful, although Balanoff is never mentioned in this memo.

It has turned out there was likely voter fraud in the Minnesota Senatorial election where Al Franken was elected over Norm Coleman by around 300 votes. There were apparently 1000 felons who voted illegally during this election. No matter what the outcome, this will not undo the 2008 election results.

The New York Times is now reporting, a few months too late, that Obama’s promise that “you get to keep your health insurance” is false.

Michele Bachmann forms a TEA party caucus.

60's folk singer Arlo Guthrie came out of the closet recently and admitted to being a registered Republican.

Muslim mother who strangles her daughter to death in Canada will do no jail time for this crime.

Say What?

Liberals:

From the President’s address this week: “Now, our scientists and outside experts have met through the night and continue this morning to analyze the data from the well integrity test. What they're working to determine is whether we can safely shut in the well using the new cap without creating new problems, including possibly countless new oil leaks in the sea floor.”

The President at a fundraiser for Robin Carnahan: “Some of the same folks in the other party whose policies gave us the economic crisis are now looking for another chance to lead. They spent nearly a decade driving the economy into the ditch, and now they're asking for the car keys back. They can't have them back. They don't know how to drive. Don't know how to drive, drive in the wrong direction, get us stuck.”

President Obama: “What I'm prepared is to be held accountable for the policies that I put in place. But Americans don't have selective memory here. They're going to remember the policies that got us into this mess, as well. And they sure as heck don't want to go back to those.”

President Obama again: “We were bleeding jobs at a rate of 750,000 per month the January I was sworn in; Now the economy is adding private-sector jobs, and has been for six straight months."

recoverysign.jpg

Christina Romer: “The Recovery Acts has met the President’s goal of saving or creating 3½ million jobs 2 quarters earlier than anticipated.”

James Carville (concerning the Obama oil moratorium in the gulf): “The federal government has let us down. It's killing the economy here. The federal government is about to kill us.”

Erskine Bowles, Debt Commission Co-chair: “What's clear to me from just glancing at it is that if we don't restore some fiscal sanity around here as a nation, we are going to go broke. I know that's not a word people like to use, but it happens to be true. We face the most predictable, economic crisis in history. And if we stay on automatic pilot, the debt we are accumulating will be like a cancer. It will definitely destroy this country from within.” I only listed Bowles here because he was appointed by the White House to this position.

Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.) "The record-breaking temperature [June 2010 was 1.22°F higher than the average June temperature] is another warning siren that should serve as a wake-up call to Congress to take action to reduce carbon pollution and add clean energy jobs so we can mitigate the impacts of climate change...The only person in America not running from the heat this summer is LeBron James."

Liberals who are rapidly becoming irrelevant:

Keith Olbermann: “That`s "Countdown" for June 28th -- it`s not June 28th, is it? June 28th? It said June 28th up here. It`s July 16th, isn`t it? My goodness, I thought I was having another seizure. ..I`m Keith Olbermann, taking a couple of weeks vacation off now. So we`ll see you whatever two weeks from today is.”

When shown a photo of Republican Senator Scott Brown, Kathy Griffin says, "[That is] Scott Brown, who is a senator from Massachusetts. And has two daughters that are prostitutes."

National Action Network president Al Sharpton: "The Tea Party as a political philosophy is to reverse what civil rights did, and that is say the federal government must help people."

Ben Jealous, the NAALCP president: “In the middle of this great American nightmare here comes the genetic descendent of the White Citizens' Council, burst from its coffin, carrying signs with slogans like ‘lynch Barack Hussein Obama’ and ‘lynch Eric Holder’ with hopes and dreams of tearing our nation our apart at the very moment it needs to be put back together, and taking us into the dark days of the past.”

Dylan Ratigan, on his own show on MSNBC, commented on Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann attempting to form a congressional tea party caucus: "...the tea partiers were nowhere when it came to ending the mass extraction in Wall Street, so I think they're actually full of crap."

Crosstalk:

Nancy Giles, Social Commentator: Yes. Well, where is the Tea Party's outrage when members of their own party spit on members of the United States --

Dana Loesch, Co-founder, St. Louis Tea Party: That was proved false.

Giles: You know what? It wasn't proved false.

Loesch: Let's not engaged in defamation and libel.

Giles: Excuse me. I'm talking so shut your mouth.

Loesch: Well, be honest when you speak and I wouldn't have to interrupt you.

Giles: Excuse me. Excuse me.

Loesch: Be truthful and I wouldn't have to.

Giles: Hey, be quiet. Where we you guys -

Loesch: Speak the truth.

Giles: -- when - You know, Larry, can you just turn off her mike? This is ridiculous.

From earlier this year: "Why would you hand the keys to the car back to the same guys whose policies drove the economy into the ditch and then walked away from the scene of the accident?" was first said by Chris Van Hollen, the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, meaning to help Coakley win Teddy Kennedy's old seat when he ran against Scott Brown. A blogger commented that this might not be the best metaphor to use with reference to a Senator who drove his car right off the road into a ditch called Chappaquiddick .

President Obama: “[The Republicans] are peddling that same snake oil that they've been peddling now for years.”

George Will (responding on ABC’s Roundatable segment to these remarks last week): “[Obama] is an expert on snake oil. This is the man who said, if we pass the $767 billion stimulus bill, which it turns out costs $862 billion, a $95 million oops, we would have unemployment at 8 percent and no higher, and it went higher. This is the man who, in another form of snake oil, said we have this wonderful idea of homeowner tax credits for buying first-time homeowners, which we now realize has largely subsidized home purchases that would have been made anyway. This is the man who last week was out saying, ‘I'm going to give $2 billion, about $2 billion, to two companies to create about 1,600 jobs.’ That's $1.5 million per job. That is snake oil.”

Conservatives:

Ed Gillespie: “Most people understand [government] spending means temporary jobs.”

David Brooks: “We’re more in debt and we’ve got nothing to show for it.”

“Why don’t they just take the credit card away from Congress?” said an unnamed 3rd grader after economist Steve Moore attempted to explain economics and politics to his son’s class.

Rush Limbaugh: “It's another way that liberals are like Muslim extremists. They want to be told how to live down to the smallest detail, and that's not good enough. Everybody else must be told how to live, down to the smallest detail -- and everybody must be compliant, and everybody must be obedient, and if we do not obey the central planners who tell us how to live our lives from what we eat to where we sleep to how much we sleep”

Joe Dan: “Don’t need no teleprompter Jesus to tell how the winds blow.”

joe_dan_gitmo_bound.jpg

From emails to O’Reilly: “NASA apparently now stands for Nurturing Arab Self Awareness.” (Not an exact quote).

Rush again: “That cracker [George Steinbrenner] made a lot of African-American millionaires. George Steinbrenner, the classic capitalist. Everybody around him became wealthy.”

Rush again: “What is obesity screening? It is a mirror, isn’t it?”

George Will on the fallacy of stimulus spending: “An -- an economist has made the following analogy that I think Americans understand. If I pay my neighbor $1,000 to dig a hole in my backyard and fill it up again and he pays me $1,000 to dig a hole in his backyard and fill it up again, according to the national income statistics, that's a $2,000 increment to GDP and two jobs have been created. The American people understand, however, there's no real wealth created in this kind of transfer payment.”

I cannot recall if I listed this show before of Beck’s but it is all about Crime Inc. and oil. I have reported the story, but it came from Beck. What is really going on in the gulf? Who will benefit by shutting gulf rigs down? It’s Crime Inc, George Soros and Petrobras Oil, all closely related. And there is an abundance of evidence:

A Little Comedy Relief

Jodi Miller: “The drug industry is funding campaign commercials in Nevada that support Harry Reid. The drug industry supports Reid because if he wins, they know we are all going on prozac.”

Jodi Miller: “The city of San Francisco may start banning the sale of pets. But, not to worry, San Franciscans, you’ll still be able to marry them.”

Short Takes

1) I am not sure who made this point, but Congress seems to think nothing of setting dates and timelines for the military—particularly when the opposing party is in power, but it never occurs to them to set timelines for the unemployed.

2) The next time someone makes the talking point, “Bush ran up the debt by starting 2 wars and passing an unpaid for prescription drug bill;” ask them if any Democrats voted for these? A majority voted for the wars and even Obama voted for the prescription drug bill. Bush never had a super majority of Republicans and during his last 2 years, had a Democratic led Congress which, not uncoincidentally, produced Bush’s highest budgets.

3) Echoing the sentiments of someone on the FoxNews Biz-block, you cannot really measure saved or created jobs; you can only measure a net gain or a net loss of jobs.

4) The government, hand-in-hand with FNMA and FHLMC, caused the financial crisis (or, at the very least, were one of the major contributing factors). Of course, this was not addressed in the financial reform bill.

5) Let’s just say that Congress (or, more specifically, some bureaucratic board created by Congress) could just come in and take over your business because they believe it to be unsound. Does that seem like good policy? Do you think some major banks and financial institutions might be giving the Democrats a lot of money to keep them out? That’s part of the new financial regulatory bill.

6) I tried to make a point last week or the week before about the $20 billion fund which our government appeared to strongarm BP into setting up. George Will made the same point, but with much more clarity and eloquence: “Look, there is no defense of BP which has an execrable safety record in this country, from the refinery disaster in Texas in '05, the Morris Slope leak in '06, all of that and so no apology from BP. But if you don't want to live in a Northern Hemisphere Venezuela, you ought to be a little queasy about the fact that a president, any president of any party, using raw political power, without recourse to courts that exist for this sort of thing, under laws, with due process, essentially confiscates $20 billion from a publicly held corporation, about half of its shares held by Americans, to be dispensed, again, with out judicial supervision, as the political branch sees fit. That is worrisome. Even, they have even said that BP maybe held responsible for the lost wages caused by, not BP, but the administration's own moratorium, six-months moratorium, on deepwater drilling. Which maybe more costly to the economy of the Gulf than the spill itself.”

obamaoil.jpg
palinfavorables.jpg

7) Let me echo a point that many people have already made: the Democrats and Obama cannot run on successfully prosecuted wars, on a Stimulus Bill that worked, on an economy that is roaring back, on jobless numbers falling, or on actual competence. What they have done is passed a number of huge bills, in excess of 2000 pages each, that we are only beginning to learn about. What they have done is run up a deficit unlike any President in our nation’s history, putting George W. Bush with a Democratic Congress to shame. So, what is the only card they can play? Racism. Millions of people have marched in TEA party rallies all over the United States, many carrying homemade signs, and it turns out that less than one-tenth of 1% of them would be classified by some as racist, so that is the card the Democrats are playing.

8) Like many Republicans, I found it to be quite distressing that Scott Brown voted for the Financial Reform Act.

By the Numbers

The one-day increase for June 30, 2010, totaled $165,931,038,264.30 - bigger than the entire annual deficit for fiscal year 2007 and larger than the $140 billion in savings the new health care bill will (supposedly) produce over its first 10 years. The figure works out to nearly $1,500 for every U.S. household. One day.

The number of illegal aliens to die so far this month in the Arizona desert: 40. How many have died in Afghanistan so far this month?

Polling by the Numbers

Rasmussen:

23% of voters nationwide believe the federal government today has the consent of the governed.

62% say it does not, and

15% are not sure.

Bloomberg Poll:

85% percent of Republicans oppose a drilling ban; 73% of independents and

65% of Democrats also oppose a ban

A Little Bias

Time Magazine just put out this year in pictures. Do you know what they left out? Photos of the TEA party events. There are none. Do you recall when the TEA party events first began? If you watch FoxNews, you do; if you watch anything else, you could have 5,000 people gathering in your town, and no local news or major news media of any kind covered it—not for several months after these events occurred. If Cindy the Pacifist goes to Bush’s ranch along with 10 of her friends, the news covers that; and on the radio, it was every hour for several days. But, if 100,000 people demonstrate across the United States, there was not a single word anywhere except on FoxNews. The media coverage did not begin until the second wave of TEA parties.

Let me explain this to the novice or the liberal, in case you do not know what is going on: liberals want to control current events and history, and it is slanted in order to get their philosophy out there. One way of slanting the news is to ignore certain events altogether. Like TEA parties.

MSNBC had 8 reports on Gibson’s obscenity-filled rage in one day, but ran 0 reports on the New Black Panther talk about killing crackers and cracker babies (the same New Black Panther which the Department of Justice gave a pass to for intimidating people at the polls).

Absolutely no coverage that I am aware of, of the 1000's who gathered in New York City to protest the building of the mosque near Ground-Zero. However, I did witness some lame protest in Los Angeles of people who did not want to playoffs in Arizona next year (I forget which sport).

This gives me the teeniest, tiniest smidgeon of hope: The ombudsman for the Washington Post Sunday harshly criticized his employer for ignoring the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation story.

The alphabet media has ignored the gender and race quotas in the Financial Reform Bill.

Klaven compares news reports about Bush to those about Obama. At least 3 major news organizations spoke of Bush’s 5.6% unemployment rate and compared him to Herbert Hoover.

The torped'a that they used as a defense. How they did it? A mine that they instaaaall in the boat, so they promote a conflict between South and North Korea.

BLITZER: Um... Fidel Castro accusing the United States of sinking that North Korean warship, a serious charge from Fidel Castro.

[The cool thing about this SNL skit is, the writers can take a break, as this is actual CNN audio]

Political Chess

The election this year is obviously being framed as a choice, by President Obama, between those who drove us into the ditch and those who are getting us out of the ditch. Racism is also a part of the tactics against conservatives, put out by various arms of the Democratic party (the media and the NAACP)

More Proof Obama is an Ideologue

Obama could have passed any kind of legislation that he wanted; it was a gimmie. The idea was to pass a huge, huge government spending bill, with much of it kicking in this year so that the economic recovery would be obvious to 2010 voters. The problem is, generally speaking, government spending does not help the economy.

We have many previous recessions and depressions which could be looked at, and the key, every time, to rev up the economy, was to lower taxes and to reduce government spending. Obama tried the opposite and it has clearly failed. He is unable to pivot and say, “I tried this; I honestly believed it would work, and it did not. Now let me try this other approach instead.” His approval rating would soar almost overnight (we suspicious conservatives would want to actually see more than rhetoric at this point). Obama is completely incapable of saying this and possibly incapable of even recognizing it (that would be the philosophical discussion, does Obama know what he is doing?).

You Know You’re Being Brainwashed if...

palinattack.jpg

If you think most news organizations are unbiased (and this also puts you into a minority of people). If you think that, you also think Palin is stupid. Do you think there might be a connection there?

News Before it Happens

Look for job numbers to be negative again; no later than the middle of 2011.

At this point, I don’t know that anyone can predict the direction of the stock market.

Prophecies Fulfilled

This is about a half-and-half thing. I said that Democrats were no longer going to be calling for timelines for us to get out of Iraq or Afghanistan. I was wrong, in part, because a handful of Democrats still do this. However, this is pleasing to their anti-war base (many of whom actually believe that, passing a timeline legislative amendment will actually be the end of war, or be the first big step in ending war). What we don’t have is, an amendment tacked onto almost every single bill calling for the immediate withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Here is one that I missed. President Obama and Senator Kyl spoke privately with one another, and Kyl came away from this meeting with the understanding that, protection at the border would be what Obama would use in order to get the Republicans to agree to a comprehensive immigration bill; no comprehensive bill cooperation meant little or no protection at the border. This was quite remarkable, as Kyl is know for his honesty and Obama is known for playing his cards close to the vest. Krauthammer predicted, about 3 weeks ago, that this story would quickly fade, and it has.

Contract From America - What do TEA Party Supporters Want?

(Donald Bly post on Flopping Aces)

[Just in case, all you know about the TEA party is that these are a bunch of gun-toting racists, here are some of the other platforms]

For the ignorant that don't seem to understand for what the TEA Party movement really stands; here is the Contract From America which many Tea Party movement supporters are now requiring candidates to sign before they will support their campaigns. I know that candidates will no longer receive a single dime from me or a moment of my time unless they are on board. The percentages listed represent the public that supports the item.

We, the undersigned, call upon those seeking to represent us in public office to sign the Contract from America and by doing so commit to support each of its agenda items, work to bring each agenda item to a vote during the first year, and pledge to advocate on behalf of individual liberty, limited government, and economic freedom.

Individual Liberty

Our moral, political, and economic liberties are inherent, not granted by our government. It is essential to the practice of these liberties that we be free from restriction over our peaceful political expression and free from excessive control over our economic choices.

Limited Government

The purpose of our government is to exercise only those limited powers that have been relinquished to it by the people, chief among these being the protection of our liberties by administering justice and ensuring our safety from threats arising inside or outside our country's sovereign borders. When our government ventures beyond these functions and attempts to increase its power over the marketplace and the economic decisions of individuals, our liberties are diminished and the probability of corruption, internal strife, economic depression, and poverty increases.

Economic Freedom

The most powerful, proven instrument of material and social progress is the free market. The market economy, driven by the accumulated expressions of individual economic choices, is the only economic system that preserves and enhances individual liberty. Any other economic system, regardless of its intended pragmatic benefits, undermines our fundamental rights as free people.

1. Protect the Constitution

Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does. (82.03%)

2. Reject Cap & Trade

Stop costly new regulations that would increase unemployment, raise consumer prices, and weaken the nation's global competitiveness with virtually no impact on global temperatures. (72.20%)

3. Demand a Balanced Budget

Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax hike. (69.69%)

4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform

Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words-the length of the original Constitution. (64.90%)

5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington

Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities, or ripe for wholesale reform or elimination due to our efforts to restore limited government consistent with the US Constitution's meaning. (63.37%)

6. End Runaway Government Spending

Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth. (56.57%)

7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care

Defund, repeal and replace the recently passed government-run health care with a system that actually makes health care and insurance more affordable by enabling a competitive, open, and transparent free-market health care and health insurance system that isn't restricted by state boundaries. (56.39%)

8. Pass an `All-of-the-Above" Energy Policy

Authorize the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation, lowering prices and creating competition and jobs. (55.51%)

9. Stop the Pork

Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark. (55.47%)

He Was Supposed to Be Competent

The spill is a disaster for the president and his political philosophy by Peggy Noonan

I don't see how the president's position and popularity can survive the oil spill. This is his third political disaster in his first 18 months in office. And they were all, as they say, unforced errors, meaning they were shaped by the president's political judgment and instincts.

There was the tearing and unnecessary war over his health-care proposal and its cost. There was his day-to-day indifference to the views and hopes of the majority of voters regarding illegal immigration. And now the past almost 40 days of dodging and dithering in the face of an environmental calamity. I don't see how you politically survive this.

The president, in my view, continues to govern in a way that suggests he is chronically detached from the central and immediate concerns of his countrymen. This is a terrible thing to see in a political figure, and a startling thing in one who won so handily and shrewdly in 2008. But he has not, almost from the day he was inaugurated, been in sync with the center. The heart of the country is thinking each day about A, B and C, and he is thinking about X, Y and Z. They're in one reality, he's in another.

berwick.jpg

President Obama promised on Thursday to hold BP accountable in the catastrophic Gulf of Mexico oil spill and said his administration would do everything necessary to protect and restore the coast.

The American people have spent at least two years worrying that high government spending would, in the end, undo the republic. They saw the dollars gushing night and day, and worried that while everything looked the same on the surface, our position was eroding. They have worried about a border that is in some places functionally and of course illegally open, that it too is gushing night and day with problems that states, cities and towns there cannot solve.

And now we have a videotape metaphor for all the public's fears: that clip we see every day, on every news show, of the well gushing black oil into the Gulf of Mexico and toward our shore. You actually don't get deadlier as a metaphor for the moment than that, the monster that lives deep beneath the sea.

In his news conference Thursday, President Obama made his position no better. He attempted to act out passionate engagement through the use of heightened language-"catastrophe," etc.-but repeatedly took refuge in factual minutiae. His staff probably thought this demonstrated his command of even the most obscure facts. Instead it made him seem like someone who won't see the big picture. The unspoken mantra in his head must have been, "I will not be defensive, I will not give them a resentful soundbite." But his strategic problem was that he'd already lost the battle. If the well was plugged tomorrow, the damage will already have been done.

The original sin in my view is that as soon as the oil rig accident happened the president tried to maintain distance between the gusher and his presidency. He wanted people to associate the disaster with BP and not him. When your most creative thoughts in the middle of a disaster revolve around protecting your position, you are summoning trouble. When you try to dodge ownership of a problem, when you try to hide from responsibility, life will give you ownership and responsibility the hard way. In any case, the strategy was always a little mad. Americans would never think an international petroleum company based in London would worry as much about American shores and wildlife as, say, Americans would. They were never going to blame only BP, or trust it.

I wonder if the president knows what a disaster this is not only for him but for his political assumptions. His philosophy is that it is appropriate for the federal government to occupy a more burly, significant and powerful place in America-confronting its problems of need, injustice, inequality. But in a way, and inevitably, this is always boiled down to a promise: "Trust us here in Washington, we will prove worthy of your trust." Then the oil spill came and government could not do the job, could not meet the need, in fact seemed faraway and incapable: "We pay so much for the government and it can't cap an undersea oil well!"

This is what happened with Katrina, and Katrina did at least two big things politically. The first was draw together everything people didn't like about the Bush administration, everything it didn't like about two wars and high spending and illegal immigration, and brought those strands into a heavy knot that just sat there, soggily, and came to symbolize Bushism. The second was illustrate that even though the federal government in our time has continually taken on new missions and responsibilities, the more it took on, the less it seemed capable of performing even its most essential jobs. Conservatives got this point-they know it without being told-but liberals and progressives did not. They thought Katrina was the result only of George W. Bush's incompetence and conservatives' failure to "believe in government." But Mr. Obama was supposed to be competent.

Remarkable too is the way both BP and the government, 40 days in, continue to act shocked, shocked that an accident like this could have happened. If you're drilling for oil in the deep sea, of course something terrible can happen, so you have a plan on what to do when it does.

How could there not have been a plan? How could it all be so ad hoc, so inadequate, so embarrassing? We're plugging it now with tires, mud and golf balls?

What continues to fascinate me is Mr. Obama's standing with Democrats. They don't love him. Half the party voted for Hillary Clinton, and her people have never fully reconciled themselves to him. But he is what they have. They are invested in him. In time-after the 2010 elections go badly-they are going to start to peel off. The political operative James Carville, the most vocal and influential of the president's Gulf critics, signaled to Democrats this week that they can start to peel off. He did it through the passion of his denunciations.

The disaster in the Gulf may well spell the political end of the president and his administration, and that is no cause for joy. It's not good to have a president in this position-weakened, polarizing and lacking broad public support-less than halfway through his term. That it is his fault is no comfort. It is not good for the stability of the world, or its safety, that the leader of "the indispensable nation" be so weakened. I never until the past 10 years understood the almost moral imperative that an American president maintain a high standing in the eyes of his countrymen.

Mr. Obama himself, when running for president, made much of Bush administration distraction and detachment during Katrina. Now the Republican Party will, understandably, go to town on Mr. Obama's having gone before this week only once to the gulf, and the fund-raiser in San Francisco that seemed to take precedence, and the EPA chief who decided to cancel a New York fund-raiser only after the press reported that she planned to attend.

But Republicans should beware, and even mute their mischief. We're in the middle of an actual disaster. When they win back the presidency, they'll probably get the big California earthquake. And they'll probably blow it. Because, ironically enough, of a hard core of truth within their own philosophy: When you ask a government far away in Washington to handle everything, it will handle nothing well.

The Obama Tax and Spend Threat to Economic Recovery

by Conn Carroll

xbushtaxcuts.jpg

Remember President Barack Obama's promise to the American people not to raise taxes? Forget about it. While the President has already raised taxes on cigarettes and tanning beds, none of that compares to what could happen in January. If you earn income, your taxes are about to go up. If Congress does not act to preserve current law, even the lowest 10 percent bracket will rise to 15 percent. Throw in tax hikes on capital gains, dividends and other tax code fixes, and the American economy is staring straight down the barrel of $3.2 trillion tax hike over the next ten years.

It doesn't take a genius to realize that raising taxes by $3.2 trillion dollars would be an economic recovery killer. Even Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) admitted to CNBC yesterday: "We don't need to raise taxes now."

The tax raising culprit here is the expiration of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts set to take effect on January 1, 2011. The leftist majority in Congress is refusing to extend current law because they believe that these tax cuts are the cause of our trillion dollar deficits. They are wrong. Heritage Foundation research fellow Brian Riedl explains why in today's Wall Street Journal: With Washington set to tax $33 trillion and spend $46 trillion over the next decade, how does one determine which policies "caused" the $13 trillion deficit? [President] Obama could have just as easily singled out Social Security ($9.2 trillion over 10 years), antipoverty programs ($7 trillion), other Medicare spending ($5.4 trillion), net interest on the debt ($6.1 trillion), or nondefense discretionary spending ($7.5 trillion)."

The real cause of our nation's debt problem is spending. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), extending all the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts will place revenues at 18.2% of gross domestic product (GDP), which is actually above the 18% average over the past 50 years. Meanwhile, spending, which has averaged 20.3% of GDP over the past 50 years, is set to explode to 26.5% of GDP by 2020. These spending increases are being driven by our entitlement programs (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid), which along with net interest payments are projected to rise by 5.4% of GDP between 2008 and 2020.

The leftist majority in Congress has had years to address this impending economic disaster but have refused to act. Last month, the House leadership announced that for the first time in the history of the budgeting process, they would not set a budget this year. And not only are they refusing to set any limits on their own spending, but now they are even talking about punting the tax issue into December so that they can raise our taxes without having to answer to the American voter. Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) told The Hill earlier this month: "It's not going to get done before the election. The lame-duck session is when all of this is going to get resolved."

crasher2.jpg

And the end of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts are just the beginning of President Obama's tax hike spree. The Obama administration's budget also calls for higher taxes on small businesses, higher taxes on energy and higher taxes on American companies that compete overseas. Speaking about the impending tax hikes on CNBC last night, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor said: "We should over the next three weeks focus squarely on small businesses and say right now, make sure we're not going to raise taxes this year, the way the administration continues to talk." Sen. Bayh not only agreed with Cantor, he even went a step further: "To Eric's list, I would add some of the increased taxes on companies that do business overseas. We don't need added uncertainty, added burdens on business right now."

Agent Provocateur Mad Hatters want to crash your Tea Party

By Judi McLeod

Warning: Marinated-in-Marxism Democrats and supporters are hot on the trail of Tea Party patriots.

They have launched a Crash the Tea Party (CTTP) website: crashtheteaparty.org on the eve of the April 15 anniversary of the Tea Party.

“WHO WE ARE, Crash The Tea Party style, is a lesson in Marxism 101: “A nationwide network of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents who are sick and tired of that loose affiliation of racists, homophobes, and morons; who constitute the fake grass-roots movement which calls itself “The Tea Party.”

The definition of CTTP couldn’t have been better scripted by Nancy Pelosi.

“WHAT WE WANT: To dismantle and demolish the Tea Party by any non-violent means necessary.

“HOW WE WILL SUCCEED: By infiltrating the Tea Party itself! In an effort to propagate their pre-existing propensity for paranoia and suspicion…We have already sat quietly in their meetings, and observed their rallies.”

But the game-plan is Crash the Tea Party’s most ominous part: “We will act on behalf of the Tea Party in ways which exaggerate their least appealing qualities (misspelled protest signs, wild claims in TV interviews, etc.) to further distance them from mainstream America and damage the public’s opinion of them. We will also use the inside information that we have gained in order to disrupt and derail their plans.” (Emphasis CFP’s).

“Sound like fun? It is!! If you’d like to join us, just click on the word “crash!” below.

Crash the Tea Party could should be called Agent Provocateurs Are Us!

crasher3.jpg

crashers.jpg

And like the scurrilous snipers of the sidelines they are, they try to pass off their website registrant name as Ben Franklin.

Crash the Tea Party was registered April 3, 2010.

CFP conducted an Internic “Whois” search and discovered that the phone number listed for the Ben Franklin registrant gave an S. Lamonoff in Langhorne, Pa. White pages list a Sheila R. Lamonoff as holder of the telephone line, also listed as S. Lamonoff.

The telephone number listed for Crash the Tea Party is 215-752-1992. The number has call block service.

CFP dialed the number and reached a recorded female voice saying “You have reached Carol and Nat, We are not available. Leave a message and have a nice day.”

Other records indicate that there is a Norman Lamonoff listed at the same address.

Meanwhile, patriots take note: The Dem-inspired agent provocateurs want to crash your Tea Party.

I don’t know if CrashtheTeaParty.org was a real going concern, because it no longer exists. Here is possibly the person who started this up:

This seems to be pretty extensive recording of this movement:

The Ku Klux Klan, Terrorist Wing of the Democratic Party

by Michael Zak

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) has falsely accused the Tea Party of having ties to the Ku Klux Klan. Speaking at the NAACP convention, she said: "All those who wore sheets a long time ago lifted them off to wear Tea Party clothing."

Now is the time to speak some Truth to Power.

It would have been far more truthful for the congresswoman to have admitted the fact that all those who wore sheets a long time ago lifted them to wear Democratic Party clothing. Yes, the Ku Klux Klan was established by the Democratic Party. Yes, the Ku Klux Klan murdered thousands of Republicans - African-American and white - in the years following the Civil War. Yes, the Republican Party and a Republican President, Ulysses Grant, destroyed the KKK with their Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871.

How did the Ku Klux Klan re-emerge in the 20th century? For that, the Democratic Party is to blame.

It was a racist Democrat President, Woodrow Wilson, who premiered Birth of a Nation in the White House. That racist movie was based on a racist book written by one of Wilson's racist friends from college. In 1915, the movie spawned the modern-day Klan, with its burning crosses and white sheets.

Inspired by the movie, some Georgia Democrats revived the Klan. Soon, the Ku Klux Klan again became a powerful force within the Democratic Party. The KKK so dominated the 1924 Democratic Convention that Republicans, speaking truth to power, called it the Klanbake. In the 1930s, a Democrat President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, appointed a Klansman, Senator Hugo Black (D-AL), to the U.S. Supreme Court. In the 1950s, the Klansmen against whom the civil rights movement struggled were Democrats. The notorious police commissioner Bull Connor, who attacked African-Americans with dogs and clubs and fire hoses, was both a Klansman and the Democratic Party's National Committeeman for Alabama. Starting in the 1980s, the Democratic Party elevated a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan, Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), to third-in-line for the presidency.

Did you hear anything on any media about the Mosque protests in New York City? Neither did I. I had a very difficult time locating this on the internet using google, trying different combinations of “mosque, protests, NYC.” There were a lot of various protests, but I could not find this one. So, check this link, because you did not know this even happened:

Stop the Mosque at Ground Zero Rally - Part II

I recall hearing all about Code Pink camping out in front of W’s ranch every hour on the hour, with very few people there (and no information as how they were able to afford this protest); and yet a protest of 1000's in New York City is ignored by the media.

The Rush Section

Nothing in the Media is Real!

RUSH: I gotta develop this theme a little further, but I was talking about it with a friend of mine this morning. Nothing, practically nothing in the media is real. The oil spill is not killing birds and fish. It's not. They don't know what's killing birds and fish but it isn't the oil spill. New York Times: Apple's iPhone does not have a major problem. They may have a problem with some receivers, and Apple's got this big press conference tomorrow, but if there were a major problem with the iPhone there would be mass returns, there would be people flooding the stores, and that's not happening. I mean that seems forced. All this talk of the stimulus and economic growth, nothing's real, nothing that's reported in the media is real.

govtjobs.jpg

Washington Post: "Companies Pile Up Cash But Remain Hesitant to Add Jobs." All right, now, this is a theme that's established itself out there, and this is all over the place. All these companies have all this money. Some companies do, but they all do not. A lot of companies are hurting. A lot of companies are shutting down. A lot of businesses, small and large, are in deep doo-doo. "Companies Pile Up Cash But Remain Hesitant to Add Jobs." See, it's not the economy; it's these greedy SOBs in business. That's the theme here. Nothing is real. The White House says business is sitting on cash waiting for consumer demand to return. The only reason I'm bringing this story up is because on page two -- by the way, the story is by Jia Lynn Yang, not that it matters, I just wanted to say the words, Jia Lynn Yang. A researcher here says on page two: "There's not a whole lot that you could do to entice companies to hire. You could cut taxes on them, but they're not going to hire just because they have the extra cash, because they already have the extra cash." Who is this? Zachary Karabell, president of River Twice Research.

If you're hiring this guy you might want to think about it. He's quoted saying: "CEOs don't like taking risks. They kind of move in packs." On the surface you might say, "The guy may have a point." But he doesn't. "There's not a whole lot that you could do to entice companies to hire. You could cut taxes on them, but they're not going to hire just because they have the extra cash, because they already have the extra cash." Why do they have the extra cash, Mr. Karabell? They have the extra cash because they don't know what's going to hit 'em upside the head next week, next month, or next year. What's the purpose of a company, Mr. Karabell, is it to hire people? No. The purpose of a company is to produce a product or a service and provide for it, make a profit. You have to hire people to work for you along the way, but you don't start a business saying, "You know what? I think ten people need a job today; I'm going to start a company." It doesn't happen that way.

You could give these businesses a tax cut, and you'd change the whole dynamic, because then you would tell 'em you're interested in their growth. We have the second highest corporate tax rate in the developed world. If you cut that, then these people, "Okay, maybe we're gonna not be punished if we succeed down the road. Maybe we're going to be able to keep a little bit more of what we earn and reinvest it, and maybe our businesses will then grow, and then we might hire people." That's the progression line here. This is just absurd. "Companies Pile Up Cash But Remain Hesitant to Add Jobs." They're smart! Why are they hesitant to add jobs? "Small Business Owners Uneasy With Obama," Politico. Small business sounding off here. The White House in response says that their regulations will promote economic growth. When's the last time that ever happened? The financial sector is not gonna know for two years the real impact of financial regulatory reform, which is gonna get signed, what, this afternoon? For two years they're not going to know the impact, but Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, the authors, can't even tell businesses what the impact's going to be because there are a whole bunch of bureaucrats that are going to be allowed to make decisions on the fly, on a whim, nobody knows what they're going to be dealing with.

"The White House's attempts to tamp down the growing narrative of President Barack Obama as an enemy of the business community are not resonating with an important audience -- business owners themselves. A number of small-business owners attending the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's jobs summit Wednesday said the administration is responsible for policies that have made them uneasy about hiring or investing in their businesses. Daryl Hancock owns an information technology consulting company in Maryland and said Obama's sweeping changes to the health care industry and new restrictions on Wall Street have only exacerbated the uncertainty of a bad economy. Hancock said he's 'very nervous' about the future and has put off improvements," much less hiring people. "It's easier for me just to sit and wait," and see what the hell I'm going to be dealing with.

"Jim Wordsworth, who owns eight businesses in Northern Virginia and chairs the Chamber's small-business council, said, 'I'm offended. After all these years, I feel like I've done an evil thing, like profit is a bad thing.' ... White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and senior adviser Valerie Jarrett --" who apparently Obama wanted to get his Senate seat, it's coming out at the Blago trial, "--shot back in a letter to the Chamber, saying they were 'surprised and disappointed' by the business community's rhetoric. They pointed to the administration's middle-class tax cuts --" there aren't going to be any middle-class tax cuts. That promise has been broken. "-- and the president's commitment to working on the free-trade agreements. And they said any new regulations on businesses would promote economic growth." Oh. So that's how it happens. New regulations promote growth. Is that it? Well, if that's it case, then why the hell is Obama bringing in Der Schlick Meister and saying, "How do you grow an economy?" Do you realize the crow Obama's having to eat here? I mean during the campaign... what did Clinton get for this? I mean it's gotta be huge 'cause Obama played the race card against Clinton and Clinton didn't like it.

They were out there attacking Clinton and Hillary during the campaign and all of a sudden the phone rings, (imitating Clinton) "Yeah, hi, hello." "Hold for the president, please." "I am the president. Who is on the other end?" "President Obama." "Ah. Oh, yeah. That guy. Okay." Obama gets on the phone. (imitating Obama) "Hey, Bill, I --" "Obama, what do you need?" "I need you to get to the White House here and help me with the economy." "I thought we're growing. I thought all kinds of employment is taking place." So they call Clinton in to help 'em with economic growth. What does Clinton know about it? All he did was raise taxes. He didn't do anything for economic growth. That was all Ronaldus Magnus. And Clinton's tax increases was the beginning of the downside of the boom from the eighties of Ronaldus Magnus, 1994. Then the Republicans got in there and started balancing the budget, and, voila, look what happened.

Here's what Clinton needs say to Obama: "Hey he-he-he-he, Barry, let me tell you what you need, this is exactly what happened to me. In 1994 I got a Republican Congress. Republican Congress, they went in there and they made me balance the budget. I had to do welfare reform and they're gonna force your hand. And then when they do all these good things you take the credit for it. That's exactly what I did. I didn't do diddly-squat. In fact, everything I did is like doing what you're doing. If I'd a-been left alone I'd have killed the economy just like you are, but the Republicans happened to win in 1994 and I got the credit for everything they did." If Clinton were honest, that would be what he would say to Obama. So regulations, regulations, regulations, regulations, economic growth, yeah, well, we got regulations coming out every orifice there is in Washington and we don't have any economic growth. And, ladies and gentlemen, try this, Los Angeles Times, Doyle McManus: "Great Recession's Psychological Fallout -- From lower birthrates to decreased civic participation and volunteerism, economic downturns have many non-economic effects."

It turns out recessions do not bring people together. Oh, I thought -- wait, wait, wait, now. Last year at this time we were getting all these stories, families out of work, loved being out of work, getting to know themselves all over again, sitting around at home and reconnecting. Remember it was great not to have a job, it was great for you emotionally and spiritually. Now all of a sudden the LA Times tells us recessions don't bring people together. They hunker down, they don't march in protest or band together, they don't volunteer. So prosperity makes us more generous, it makes us more civic minded. The story doesn't say this. This is my conclusion. Now, the journalists who printed that crap last summer about how great it is to be out of work, how spiritually revitalizing it was to sit around with the family, yeah, that's what people like to do, sit around with the family all day long and pick up the Cheerios and the mnchies off the floor. Right. Those people who printed all that garbage, they themselves are out of work now. And since they're outta work there's no more stories about how great it is to be unemployed. See how this works?

Yeah, it's easy when you're a journalist trying to prop up a failed administration. You go out there, create a new template. It's great to be unemployed, why, discovering all kinds of things about ourselves. The people who wrote that have now lost their jobs. That's why there aren't stories about this anymore.

RUSH: Los Angeles Times, "Great Recession's Psychologist Fallouts." No more volunteerism, no more civic participation, people aren't getting along with each other. Remember this? June 4th, 2009, the LA Times: "For the 'Funemployed,' Unemployment's Welcomed -- These jobless folks, usually singles in their 20s and 30s, find that life without work agrees with them. They're not sending out resumes, but instead lazing at the beach and taking long trips abroad." June 4th, Kimi Yoshino, LA Times, Doyle McManus, July 15th, 2010, same paper, "Great Recession's Psychological Fallout -- From lower birthrates to decreased civic participation and volunteerism, economic downturns have many non-economic effects." Go figure. Nothing that's reported in the mainstream media is real.

Hapless Brad Sherman (D-CA) Learns About Black Panther Case

Video for this:

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_071410/content/01125109.guest.html

RUSH: Here's Brad Sherman, by the way, the hapless Democrat from California who had never heard of the New Black Panther Party. This is last Sunday in Reseda, California, during a town hall meeting. This is the nuts and bolts of the whole point.

SHERMAN: I am extremely sure that we do not have a policy at the Department of Justice of never prosecuting a black defendant --

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Yes, you do! (crowd shouts)

SHERMAN: I'm sure may say that somewhere on the Internet, but that doesn't mean it's true. The -- as to the Black Panther Party, I'm simply not aware of that case. (crowd erupts in shouts and boos)

panthers.jpg

RUSH: They're booing him there. They're booing him now. This was last Sunday. So he comes out yesterday says, "I never heard of this case because the media I look at, it was never reported." Now, we know this because J. Christian Adams, one of the line attorneys prosecuting the New Black Panthers, among them King Samir Shabazz, he of killing white cracker babies fame, said that it was a slam-dunk case, and we know it's a slam-dunk case because we've seen the video of the voter intimidation in Philadelphia in 2008. Now, J. Christian Adams has not just appeared on Fox News and other talk radio outlets. He has testified before the US Commission on Civil Rights, which is a governmental panel, and the Democrat congressman, Brad Sherman, the hapless Brad Sherman from California, did not even know that J. Christian Adams had said what he had said, did not know that he resigned, did not know that he was testifying before the US Commission on Civil Rights pointing all this out.

It was J. Christian Adams, the whistleblower, who said he was told this Department of Justice is not going to pursue black defendants. In addition to that, he pointed out he was also told that section 8 of the Motor Voter law was not going to be pursued. That requires voter registration rolls to be purged of the dead, the duplicates, people who moved out of state. He was told by a female Department of Justice lawyer, (paraphrasing) "No, no, no, we're for inclusion here, not exclusion, we're not going to get rid of dead people and people who have moved." So he said, "What the hell am I doing here?" He quit. He's got a private practice, is now a blogger. If you go to Google News and search New Black Panthers you get 222 results. Go check Rush Limbaugh, George Steinbrenner and see how many hundreds of thousands you get. I'm serious. Do "Rush Limbaugh Steinbrenner cracker," whatever search term you want to use, see how many hits you get, how many different results. H.R. just did it, 151,000. You go to Google News and search "Limbaugh Steinbrenner cracker," 151,000 different stories about it. The New Black Panther Party, 222 stories searching Google News.

In less than one second a Lindsay Lohan search produces 16,100 results. I had media calling me today -- well, e-mailing, "Would you like to clarify your remarks?" I said, "Clarify what? Would you like to clarify the way you're reporting this? Did you actually hear me say any of this?" Okay, so now that Brad Sherman, the hapless Brad

obamabillboard.jpg

Sherman from California is aware that the race-based policies of the Department of Justice are not something on the Internet but is based in sworn, under-oath testimony, I assume that Brad Sherman, Democrat, California, will think it's just as crazy as if it came off the Internet and Brad Sherman will speak out against Department of Justice policy now. Now that he knows it's true, just because his media didn't report it, but now he knows sworn testimony, the New Black Panther case was trashed because the DOJ does not want to pursue black defendants I'm sure he'll demand action on this now, as an American, as a Democrat, as a member of Congress. In fact, Brad Sherman has announced that he's gonna write a stiff letter, whatever that is, to Eric Holder.

A LeBron James search in less than one second on Google produces 24,500 results. The New Black Panthers, 222 results. What was the number you got for me, Rush Limbaugh Steinbrenner cracker, 151,000, ten times the hits of Lindsay Lohan. Five times that of LeBron James. Welcome to the new America. Brad Sherman, we'll wait to read your stiff letter to Eric Holder now that you know what your media is failing to tell you.

Billboard Compares Obama to Hitler and Lenin

RUSH: From Des Moines, Iowa: "A billboard created by an Iowa tea party group that compares President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Lenin is drawing sharp criticism -- even from fellow tea party activists who have condemned it as offensive and a waste of money. ... The co-founder of the roughly 200-person group said the billboard was intended to send an anti-socialist message. But Bob Johnson admitted Tuesday that the message may have gotten lost amid the images of fascist and communist leaders." Now, have you seen the picture of the billboard? Yeah, I've seen it. You got Hitler called National Socialism, you got Obama called Democrat Socialism, and then Lenin's over there, Marxist Socialism. What's fascinating to me here is that people are all hacked off and outraged and offended that anybody would dare compare Obama to Hitler, but apparently nobody has a problem with Obama being compared to Lenin.

Liberals Learn It's Much Easier to Destroy an Economy Than to Fix It

RUSH: You know what the Democrats are finding here, folks? That it's a lot easier to destroy than it is to build. They wanted this recession. The Democrat Party made this recession and now they're finding out they can't manage it. It's a lot easier to start a recession than it is to end one and get out of one, and now they're starting to get nervous. They might even be wanting daddy, the GOP, to fix it for them because they haven't the slightest idea. They know how to destroy. But they can't fix. They're lost.

obamabusiness.jpg

RUSH: Democrats... I'm going to say this again. They're finding out it's a lot easier to destroy the economy than it is to fix it, and make no mistake: They are the ones who broke the economy. In 2007, George W. Bush's final budget deficit was $161 billion. Barack Obama? The national debt has risen $2.4 trillion in the 500 days since Obama was immaculated. That's an average of nearly $5 billion per day. That's what the Democrats have done since January of 2007. And they are finding out, it's easy to break things -- and as General Powell once said, "You break it, you own it." They own this. They made this recession, but they don't know how to manage it. They don't know how to fix it. It's a lot easier to start a recession than it is to end one, and now they're getting nervous. This is why the Democrats are so panicked, ladies and gentlemen. They are so crazed, they have the audacity... The regime today says that they have "saved or created" three million jobs. Think about how deranged or delusional that is. We know for a fact that just last month alone 652,000 people gave up looking for work, and they want to try to tell us they've "created or saved" three million jobs? So liberalism, leftists, they know how to destroy. They know how to tear down. But they have no clue how to build back. They can't even manage their own disasters. They made their debt, let them lie in it.

RUSH: And continuing around a theme that the Democrats are in a world of hurt, that they're confused, that they are clueless. They know how to tear down, they know how to destroy, but they can't manage what they have destroyed, and they can't build, they can't rebuild, they can't grow, they are clueless, they know not what they're doing. They can't even manage the destruction that they have wrought. The Washington Post, Dana Milbank: "Are Democrats Painting Themselves as the Lesser of the Evils? -- It would not be accurate to say that Democrats are worried about losing control of the House in November. It would be accurate to say that Democrats are in a screaming panic about losing control of the House in November." Democrats are in a screaming panic. Steny Hoyer: It's a difficult argument to make, saying it "would have been worse," but that's all they've got. It woulda been worse if we hadn't done the stimulus, it would have been worse. That's all they got, that and bashing Bush. It could have been worse. They have to lie. That they created three million jobs, or saved 'em, or what have you. They are in a screaming panic.

And this is the CBS poll again: "Americans Say Bad Economy Will Linger." Job approval, Obama, 44%. I don't think Obama gives two hoots about personal popularity. He does within his inner circle. When I say liberals, I'm talking about these acne zit-faced little kids that populate their websites. They're the ones that want to be loved. They're the ones that want to be popular. They're the ones who want their ideas to bring about utopian panacea. These are the people who want to have the wonders of life without having to work for them. They're not happy and people don't like 'em, and people don't like their leader. Their leader will throw them overboard and Democrats in the House and Democrats in the Senate to stay the leader. That's the way regimes operate.

Club Gitmo's "Life Skills" Seminar

RUSH: Remember, ladies and gentlemen, so many things about Club Gitmo. I told you that they would not close it. We started a licensed merchandise business in Club Gitmo to point out just how relaxing a trip to Club Gitmo could be. If you're overworked and tired of jihad you can go there to recuperate. Here's Catherine Herridge yesterday morning on Fox & Friends. She's their Homeland Security Justice Department correspondent. She went down to Club Gitmo. This was her report.

HERRIDGE: The vast majority of the detainees at Guantanamo Bay now live in these group settings or communal settings. They now have one of these Wii consoles, and one of the biggest changes is TV. They've got at least 12 channels, and they have about 11 or 12 radio stations. Now, when we went on a tour through the camps one of the things that we saw is the PlayStation -- like you mentioned -- a Nintendo game, and then also the library. And some of the titles that are extremely popular now include Agatha Christie, Harry Potter, and Twilight. But perhaps one of the most striking differences is this new course called the Life Skills Course that's supposed to prepare the detainees for their lives post-Gitmo.

RUSH: That's Catherine Herridge at Fox reporting what's going on at Club Gitmo. Club Gitmo sounds a lot nicer than my New York City condo (which, by the way, unloaded for a cool 125% profit, which is also where the left is just in a jealous rage and tizzy today), and here's a Club Gitmo MP describing this life skills seminar that she was just describing. This is hilarious. Catherine Herridge report about changes at Club Gitmo. Here's an unidentified MP talking about these changes.

MILITARY POLICEMAN: We changed our classes. Probably the biggest recent change is we took our core classes -- which is Arabic English, Pashtun English, and art -- and added a life skills, which is a seminar, a 31-week program which is based to give them skills they'll need when they leave here. So it starts out with basic building blocks of personal finance, health, and well-being.

RUSH: Do you believe this? This is what we're doing for terrorist racists! The Obama administration, Obama himself has come out and said that Al-Qaeda is racist because they blew up some people in Uganda and they're not concerned with the long-term consequences of their ideology. The Obama administration, White House officials actually honestly said that there is not a road to career advancement for black people in Al-Qaeda, that too often they end up being the suicide bombers. I'm not making this up. So now you just heard an unidentified MP say at Club Gitmo, We changed our classes. Probably the biggest recent change is we took our core classes -- which is Arabic English, Pashtun English, and art -- and added a life skills, which is a seminar, a 31-week program which is based to give [the terrorists] skills they'll need when they leave here.

"So it starts out with basic building blocks of personal finance, health, and well-being." They're giving a 31-week seminar at Club Gitmo for terrorists now identified as racists by the Obama regime. How ironic is it to give suicide a course called "life skills"? What is going on here? First they're racists, and now we're giving a bunch of suicide bombers a course called life skills? Do we maybe teach them how to land an airplane? I mean, they obviously know how to take one off, they know how to fly one. Are we teaching 'em how to land a hijacked airplane? (interruption) What do you mean it's just outreach? That's right. That's right. I'm sorry. I forgot. This is what NASA is supposed to be doing. So we're reaching out to the Islamic Jihad community, showing them we're not bad people and we train them for life after jihad, provided they stay alive after jihad.

They learn how to manage their checkbook, a little capitalism. We're teaching capitalism, how to manage family finances, personal finances, health and well-being to a bunch of suicide bombers. (laughing) This is the Obama administration.

The story on Helen Thomas:

Legendary White House reporter and founding member of the Muppets Helen Thomas made a heroic stand against the Zionists late last month, telling Jews to "get the hell out of Palestine" and to go home to "Poland and Germany."

Before the Jews sink their devilish claws into Helen, we want to show our solidarity by calling on all Jews to leave Zionist Occupied Hollywood by the end of June, or we shall begin "Operation Gevalt," which will disrupt all shipments of Nova lox to the west coast.
