Too much happened this week! Enjoy...
The cartoons come from:
If you receive this and you hate it and you don’t want to ever read it no matter what...that is fine; email me back and you will be deleted from my list (which is almost at the maximum anyway).
Previous issues are listed and can be accessed here:

I attempt to post a new issue each Sunday by 5 or 6 pm central standard time (I sometimes fail at this attempt).
I try to include factual material only, along with my opinions (it should be clear which is which). I make an attempt to include as much of this week’s news as I possibly can. The first set of columns are intentionally designed for a quick read.
I do not accept any advertising nor do I charge for this publication. I write this principally to blow off steam in a nation where its people seemed have collectively lost their minds.
And if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, always remember: We do not struggle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12).
Libyan head Kadafi died this week, first driven out of his vehicle into a storm drain by either a drone or French aircraft attack, and then shot in the streets, after he had been grabbed up by a mob.
Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit is released by the Palestinians in an exchange for 1000 Palestinian soldiers.
Despite a campaign-style push this week by President Barack Obama, the Senate on Thursday scuttled pared-back jobs legislation aimed at helping state and local governments avoid layoffs of teachers and firefighters.
In July, Obama signed an agreement with 13 major automobile manufacturers to increase the average fuel economy for their vehicles sold in the U.S. to 54.5 mpg by 2025. The Obama “tour” bus gets less than 6 mpg.
The country's first criminal prosecution of Planned Parenthood was left teetering Friday when it was revealed the state of Kansas destroyed abortion records that prosecutors planned to use as evidence. Prosecutors say the records, which are central to making their case, were shredded sometime in 2005, roughly two years before charges were brought against Planned Parenthood by former Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment shredded the records as a "routine" destruction of state documents, court files said.
Flag waving was a common part of the TEA party protests. Flag desecration is becoming quite common in the Occupy movement.
One Occupy Cleveland participant, a 19-year-old girl, is raped by a fellow participant.
A man accused of exposing himself to children at least five times across Seattle was arrested early Tuesday morning. He was identified by a composite sketch, which allowed him to be identified as one of those taking part in the Occupy Seattle protests.
There has apparently been quite a bit of theft at these occupy protests, including a $5500 Mac stolen from a volunteer at OWS.
A group of "Occupy" activists in Greensboro, N.C., asked for a meeting with the president, who stayed overnight there at a local hotel, but the president was apparently unable to work this into his schedule.
This past Friday, CAIR Muslims joined Occupy Wall Streeters for Friday prayers.
Occupy Wall Street's Finance Committee has nearly $500,000 in the bank, and donations continue to pour in -- but its reluctance to share the wealth with other protesters is fraying tempers.
I have seen on the internet several examples of speakers on occupy Wall Street where speakers have the audience repeat everything that they say. So, we began with a movement where very few people were able to explain exactly what their goals were to teachers telling these people what they believe.
After violating National Public Radio's ethics code by acting as a spokeswoman for Occupy DC protesters, Lisa Simeone was fired Wednesday evening from one of the two public radio programs she hosts.
Occupy Wall Street protests appear to have begun in Iran. Maybe now the President will hear them?
Libya's transitional leader says Islamic Sharia law will be the "basic source" of all law
Tunisian voters poured into polling stations to vote on Sunday in their country's first free election, 10 months after a vegetable seller set fire to himself in an act of protest that started the Arab Spring uprisings.
An Egyptian court sentenced a man to three years in jail with hard labour on Saturday for insulting Islam in postings on Facebook.
A fundamentalist Islamic group wants to set up zones in Copenhagen where Islamic Sharia Law should be upheld.
Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole confirmed that the Obama administration was pulling back all training materials used for the law enforcement and national security communities, in order to eliminate all references to Islam that some Muslim groups have claimed are offensive.
Kinde Durkee, who controlled the funds of roughly 400 Democratic candidates and groups in California , ranging from Senator Dianne Feinstein to local Democratic youth clubs, was arrested in September and charged with fraud. It appears that she will be accused of looting the war chests of her big-name clients.
Southeast Turkey struck by a powerful earthquake today. Possibly 1000 casualties.
A $500 million U.S. government guaranteed loan to Fisker Automotive was made to build $90,000 electric cars. They are presently building a plant in Finland, but assure U.S. taxpayers that none of the money lent them from us will be spent there.
Jack Daniels whiskey, which is produced in Lynchburg, TN, is being threatened with another heavy tax, which could sever this century-long relationship. This distillery is Moore county’s largest employer and produces about a billion dollars worth of product each year.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Saturday easily coasted to a second term, winning in a landslide election after failing to attract any well-known or deep-pocketed opposition. Even though the nation blamed George Bush for Katrina, the people in Louisiana and New Orleans apparently blamed Democrats.
Sarah Silverman and several like-minded comedians announced that they are planning a live stand-up special - "Live From N----head: Stripping The Paint Off Of Good Ol' Fashioned Racism" - to raise funds for the NAACP. This is in reference to the hunting camp that Rick Perry and his family frequented.
The Presidential truck with TOTUS (Teleprompter of the United States) went missing this week. Both it and TOTUS were recovered.
Liberals:
TOTUS: “Help! I’ve been kidnaped!”
Michelle Obama: “Our philosophy is if you live right every day - and I shouldn't say "right," but if you make good choices every day - I tell this to my girls all the time - that when it's time for the holidays and the fun stuff and the birthday party, that you don't have to worry about it because you're doing what you're supposed to do every single day. So we really talk about daily choices that they're making, and balance. Right? Because I don't want them to have to worry about how much candy they eat on Halloween.”
Michelle Obama, making her first tweet: "So this is how you tweet, huh? ...whoa, I did it."
President Barack Obama of the GOP: "You got their plan, which is let's have dirtier air, dirtier water, (and) less people with health insurance,"
President Obama on his jobs bill which was rejected in Congress by all the Republicans and 2 Democrats: "We've decided, let's let them do the right thing one more time. We're going to give them another chance to do their jobs by looking after your jobs. So this week, I'm asking members of Congress to vote. What we're going to do is we're going to break up my jobs bill. Maybe they just couldn't understand the whole thing all at once. So we're going to break it up into bite-size pieces so they can take a thoughtful approach to this legislation,"
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: "It is very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing fine. It is the public-sector jobs where we have lost huge numbers. That is what this [jobs] legislation is all about."
President Barack Obama: "The most important thing we can do right now is those of us in leadership letting people know that we understand their struggles [of the Wall Street occupiers] and we are on their side, and that we want to set up a system in which hard work, responsibility, doing what you're supposed to do, is rewarded. And that people who are irresponsible, who are reckless, who don't feel a sense of obligation to their communities and their companies and their workers that those folks aren't rewarded." All this time, I thought that we had a system where hard work and responsibility were supposed to pay off.
President Obama: "I understand the frustrations being expressed in those protests. In some ways, they're not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the Tea Party. Both on the left and the right, I think people feel separated from their government. They feel that their institutions aren't looking out for them,"
President Obama: “I'm here in Detroit visiting workers at a GM plant in the heart of a resurgent American auto industry.” Experts in video effects said Mr Obama's talk on boosting employment had actually been recorded in front of a neutral "green screen" and the factory background filled in later.
Obama: “We're here because this week, Congress passed landmark trade agreements with countries like Korea, and assistance for American workers that will be a big win for our economy...So it was good to see Congress act in a bipartisan way on something that will help create jobs at a time when millions of Americans are out of work and need them now.” These are the trade agreements negotiated by George W. Bush and have been sitting on Obama’s desk since he became president.
Obama: “After 9 years, America’s war in Iraq will be over.”
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: "What we've seen from President Obama over the last two-and-half years and, remarkably, with the events of the last six months is that his kind of smart leadership in a complex world is paying off."
Vice President Joe Biden: "The other thing I've heard from my friends who oppose this - this whole jobs bill and this - that `This is just temporary.' Let me tell you, it's not temporary when that 911 call comes in and a woman's being raped and a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape - it's not temporary to that woman. It's not temporary to the guy whose store is being held up and has a gun pointed to his head if a cop shows up and he's not killed! That's not temporary to that store owner. Give me a break - temporary. I wish these guys who called this temporary, I wish they had some notion of what it's like to be on the other side of a gun, or a 200-pound man standing over you telling you to submit. Folks, it matters. It matters.“ Said of a 1-year jobs bill paid for 10 years of taxation.
NOW president Terry O'Neill: "I think he is concretely worried that with fewer police on the beat crime will go up. I think he is imagining the lives of real people. That is not a device - that is an actual ability to know what everyday people go through."
Joe Biden sells Obama’s jobs bill to the 4th graders at Alexander B. Goode Elementary School in York, PA: “Here in this school, your school, you've had a lot of teachers who used to work here, but because there's no money for them in the city, they're not working. And so what happens is, when that occurs, each of the teachers that stays have more kids to teach. And they don't get to spend as much time with you as they did when your classes were smaller. We think the federal government in Washington, D.C., should say to the cities and states, look, we're going to give you some money so that you can hire back all those people. And the way we're going to do it, we're going to ask people who have a lot of money to pay just a little bit more in taxes.”
David Axelrod on Perry’s energy plan: "[it is a] a Xeroxed copy of the oil lobby's wish list for America."
AFL-CIO leader Richard Trumka on Herman Cain's 9-9-9 Plan: "It's tough to take anything like that seriously. Look, workers are working hard and their wages have stagnated. To have Herman Cain, a serious contender on the Republican side make a statement and say to further lower wages and to do away with the minimum wage, it's almost laughable."
Democratic Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif: "I've heard my own colleagues on the Republican side say, `We just want to make Obama look so bad, we don't care how bad the economy gets.'"
Reporter: “You've heard them say that?”
Sanchez: "Yes. They have said that. They’ve said that. They've said that behind closed doors to me....’we’re going to make him look bad; we’re going to get rid of him.’"
Reporter: “Who is saying that, congresswoman?”
Sanchez "Well, you know, I'm not. you know, these are actual friends on the other side who`ve said this is what's happening in our conference, in their groupings when they're meeting."
Sen. Bernie Sanders (and self-proclaimed socialilst): "I think what the president is catching on to is that the American people want him to stand up tall and straight on behalf of working families who are struggling desperately today and take on the big money interests who are so powerful and the wealthiest people who are doing phenomenally well...We need to address the issue of the rich getting richer and everybody else getting poorer."
The American Nazi Party (which is a leftist organization, not a conservative one): “Racial Comrades: I am going to address the issue of this "Occupy Wall Street" fervor that has been sweeping the land like a breath of cleansing air!
THE NATIVES ARE GETTING RESTLESS, AND ZOG FEARS IT MIGHT HAVE A POPULAR UPRISING ON ITS HANDS - finally!
This issue is TAYLOR MADE for National Socialists, as well as WN who are serious about DOING SOMETHING - MORE - than shouting "racial slurs" and acting like "poster boys of hate" loons.
After all - JUST WHO - are the WALL STREET BANKERS? The vast majority are JEWS - and the others are SPIRITUAL JEW materialists, who would sell their own mother's gold teeth for a PROFIT. And MORE and MORE people are AWARE of this truth, are not only NOT afraid to TALK ABOUT IT - they're shouting it on WALL STREET!”
Stacey Hessler, 38, a married mother of four from Florida: "I'm not planning on going home...I have no idea what the future holds, but I'm here indefinitely. Forever...Military people leave their families all the time, so why should I feel bad? I'm fighting for a better world." Her husband is a banker.
Sign at Occupy Wall Street: “Debt is slavery.”
Ashley Love, a young member of the OWS : "I am an occupier, I am a drummer, and, despite what they say, I am also a human being."
Occupy Dayton man: "F___ The Military, f___ your flag and f___ the police."
Occupy Oakland protester to KGO-TV's Amy Hollyfield: "We shoot white bitches like you around here."
Occupy Oakland: It's this "f___-up system that makes us racist and violent."
Wall Street protester sign (she is joking): “This sign makes me important”
A professor at New York University speaking to Wall Street occupiers: "If we get rid of the board of directors, if we get rid of the major shareholders, the machines will still be there. The factory will not move. The workers will have all the skills. We will produce just fine."
Nan Terrie, 18-year old, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale, at occupy Wall Street: "Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment. I had my Mac stolen - that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get the message out to our supporters that we needed food!"
Actress Kathy Bates: The last two years, I want to go back, something my father said to me - he always said, "Stand up on your hind legs and fight." And that's what I'd like to say to my president, whom I'm so proud of. But I want him to stand up on his hind legs and fight these rat bastards. And he has got do it.
CNN’s Piers Morgan: Who do you mean by the rat bastards?
Kathy Bates: Well, I think he's got to indict these guys from Wall Street. Somebody's got pay for that mess. And I don't think it's the American public.
The Compliant Obama Press Corps:
Time magazines Toure: “This presidential election
has not lacked for clowns, and in a circus Herman
Cain fits right in. But as the Black clown, Cain's
foot-in-mouth moments mostly involve insulting
the Black community. This could be to establish his independence from the community in order to earn his bona fides with the GOP electorate or a way of appeasing the white conservatives he's courting. Or it could be that his foot and his mouth are magnetized. Whatever the reason, as a Black person, the Hermanator experience has been as distasteful as rancid, spoiled, stinky, curdled milk.”
Also in this Time article about Herman Cain: “[he is] the Black Sarah Palin...Big Daddy Cain...Cain is a clown. You see it in the way he constantly mollifies white audiences with self-effacing, racialized comedy that borders on minstrelsy.”
NBC newsman Martin Bashir: `Do you think Herman Cain can spell the word `Iraq'?'
Tim Carman, writing for the Washington Post: “One of his primary credentials for the job involves his nearly miraculous healing of the once-moribund Godfather's Pizza, as if America were a midgrade Midwestern chain whose many problems could be solved with a few deaths in the family (read: store closings) and a tough-talking thug in a pin-stripe suit and fedora.”
CNN’s Don Lemon distorts a poll: "So Will, 72 percent, 72 percent of voting Republicans think abortion should be legal under all or certain circumstances." Under which circumstances is ignored in his reporting of the facts.
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews to Republican candidate Jon Huntsman: "You know what I want to say to you? Thank you for your service. Thank you for your service, for being the same man in the Republican Party. It reminds us there's actually someone who has their feet on the ground."
Chris Matthews on the South Carolina voter ID law: "There have been complaints by many South Carolinians that the law [requiring citizens to show photo identification at the polls] will effectively end up disenfranchising many traditionally Democratic supporters in the state."
Washington Post's Lisa Miller in her On Faith blog: "What would Jesus think about Occupy Wall Street? ...The Jesus of history would love them all."
Miller does admit: "The protestors don't talk much about Jesus or God. Nor do they offer explicit guidance on transcendent, higher principles."
Colin Moynihan of the New York Times, on the OWS bunch: “Many of the protesters would say that their mere presence is their message.”
Liberals from the past:
President Obama: “I’ve been a little amused [about] these people having these rallies...you’d think they be saying, ‘Thank you.’ ” Will the President say this to the Wall Street Protesters, who apparently don’t realize that Wall Street was fixed by the Dodd Frank Bill.
Obama to Eric Cantor: "I won. So I think on that one, I trump you."
Former House Majority Whip James Cliburn: "We're responding to the American people [by being purely partisan]. The American people didn't listen to them too well during the election."
President Obama, in firing up Democrats to pass his Stimulus bill: “[Americans] did not vote for the false theories of the past, and they didn't vote for phony arguments and petty politics. They didn't vote for the status quo -- they sent us here to bring change." Washington flushing nearly $1 trillion down the crapper certainly could be classified as change.
Crazy Muslims:
Afghan President Hamid Karzai: "God forbid, If ever there is a war between Pakistan and America, Afghanistan will side with Pakistan."
Egyptian researcher Muhammad Galaa Idris in an interview which aired on Al-Rahma TV in Egypt: “Another cause for the hatred of Jews is the social cause. Due to the sense of superiority of the Jews, they lived in separate quarters in all societies. These were called ghettoes in the West...The Jews were responsible for all the depravity that has spread in society. The gangs of thieves. . . The stories of Charles Dickens - Oliver Twist and others - exemplify that. They show how the Jews would deal with stolen goods and so on. The Jews were behind the spread of immorality, prostitution, and licentiousness in Europe. They were behind the spread of all sins, and they are to this day. This is written in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. We've discussed this. Moral corruption is part of the conspiracy...This is a part of a campaign to brainwash the world. The Jews have managed to brainwash Europe.”
An article published on a Fatah-affiliated website,
by journalist Sami Foda, about the Israeli prisoner
who was exchanged this week: "[Gilad Shalit is] a young man who spent his time in bars and brothels, playing games and pampering himself. He enjoyed the pleasures of a land not his own. He went around robbing, stealing, torching, raping, trampling, and desecrating the soil of this land that is not his own. He viciously strove to shed the blood of the martyrs, killed innocent people, shelled the homes of innocent people with tanks, destroying them without shame, mercy, or pangs of conscience, a stupid murderer who did not mind killing our elderly, our men, our youth, and our women, and even our poor children, [so] pure and innocent. This soldier was a waif born in a shelter as a result of the deterioration and disintegration of Israeli society. A Zionist soldier, he became seeped with Zionism to the bone. . . [He is] a gullible [boy], the genetic grandson of the Zionist leaders by virtue of his affiliation with, and loyalty to, his Nazi leaders. This monster joined the army of Zionist gangs, to carry on the legacy of his fathers, the apes and pigs of the Haganah, Irgun, Stern, and Palmach organizations, in order to carry out the orders of his fascist masters. That was the Zionist soldier Gilad Shalit, 19 years-old when he was captured by the Palestinian resistance.
Arab from the past:
Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2010:"Now, ruling America is a black man from our continent, an African from Arab descent, from Muslim descent, and this is something we never imagined - that from Reagan we would get to Barakeh Obama...He is someone I consider a friend. He knows he is a son of Africa. Regardless of his African belonging, he is of Arab Sudanese descent, or of Muslim descent. He is a man whose policy should be supported, and he should be assisted in implementing it in any way possible, since he is now leaning towards peace.""
Liberals making sense:
University professor and FoxNews commentator Carol Helman on Joe Biden: “If I was his advance team, I’d be concerned every time this man went out.”
Ward Armstrong, an incumbent in Virginia’s house of delegates, now up for re-election: "Now Charles Poindexter [his political opponent] is comparing me to Barack Obama. That's a stretch, Charles. I'm pro-life, pro-gun and I always put Virginia first. That's why I opposed the cap-and-trade bill."
Moderates/Affiliation Unknown:
Catherine Hughes, a stay-at-home mom who lives one block from the Wall Street protest: "They're defecating on our doorsteps. The cowbells start at 4 a.m. and the drumming goes past 10 a.m. A lot of people are very frustrated. A lot of people are concerned about the safety of our kids."
Bank of America’s Ethan S. Harris: “The credit rating agencies have strongly suggested that further rating cuts are likely if Congress does not come up with a credible long-run plan. Hence, we expect at least one credit downgrade in late November or early December when the super Committee crashes.”
Crosstalk:
Question to the President: "If you had to do anything differently during your first four years, what would it be?"
President Obama: "I'm sure I'll make more mistakes in the next year and a half...There are all sorts of day-to-day issues where I say to myself, oh, I didn't say that right, or I didn't explain this clearly enough, or maybe if I had sequenced this plan first as opposed to that one, maybe it would have gotten done quicker....I guarantee it's going to be a close election [in 2012] because the economy is not where it wants to be and, even though I believe all the choices we've made have been the right ones, we're still going through difficult circumstances...The health care bill that we passed is absolutely the right thing to do, but it's going to take a while before it's even fully implemented, much less taken full effect." This was an 8 minute answer, in which he discussed several big issues, and how we need to double down, and the only mistake the President acknowledges is, maybe he didn’t explain something well enough.

Dennis Miller, after Bill Burton, an Obama talking head, said that Rick Perry won the debate in Las Vegas, had this exchange with Bill O’Reilly after O’Reilly had interviewed Burton:
Dennis Miller: That was really -- listen, I knew he had did badly, but I had no idea how badly he did until that wizard, Bill Burton, said he won last night. What -- who in the hell was Bill -- how close do you have to get to airtime with a cancellation before you call that number? What a genius.
Bill O'Reilly: Burton is a smart guy, a communications guy.
Miller: Oh, yes.
O'Reilly: He's entitled to his opinion, Miller. Come on.
Miller: He's a wizard, Billy. I just hope I can keep up.
O'Reilly: All right. You said Obama...
Miller: Yes.
O'Reilly: ...won the debate. Explain that.
Miller: We can't do this 12 more times. We're shooting inside the tent, as Roger says. It does no good for Rick Perry to sit there and call Mitt Romney on a gardener, for God's sakes.
And by the way, Rick, if you're watching, let me go to your past gaffe and say if Mitt wasn't hiring illegals, wouldn't that have been heartless on his part? You've got to get it straight here.
Herman, I love you, but the 999 thing has set the hook. Now you've got to bring Art Laffer in and Paul Ryan and really pound the details. You can't start talking about apples and oranges, for God's sakes. Come out and say you want to get rid of the IRS first and then go from there.
But we cannot have everybody up there like nine praying mantises in a Hellmann's jar with three air holes and breaking antennas and spitting tobacco on each other trying to get to the air. This is helping Obama.
Conservatives:
George Will: “Romney has assumed a certain versatility of conviction.”
Greg Gutfeld on demanding an apology from Susan Sarandon for calling the current pope a Nazi: “Why would you want an apology from her? It would be like getting a back rub from a transient (it is better for him than you).” [quoted from memory]
Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich, of the budget deal brokered over the summer, which automatically cuts military spending if a supercommittee of six Republicans and six Democrats can't find over a trillion dollars of savings from the federal budget: “[T]he fact is, to say I'm going to put the security of the United States up against some arbitrary budget number is suicidally stupid. I mean, if you want to understand how totally broken Washington is, look at this entire model of the supercommittee, which has now got a magic number to achieve. And if it doesn't achieve the magic number, then we'll all have to shoot ourselves in the head so that when they come back with a really dumb idea to merely cut off our right leg, we'll all be grateful that they're only semi-stupid instead of being totally stupid." ”
Herman Cain: “I can still remember, riding on segregated buses in Atlanta, Georgia. I can still remember the sign at the front of the bus, that will be forever branded into my memory ‘Whites, sea from the front; colored seat from the rear.’ I can still remember that, but, because of America’s ability to change, I stand here today, and I own the bus, with my picture on the side.”
Herman Cain: “We need to stay informed, because stupid people are ruining America.”
Newt Gingrich: “I'm certainly running against people like Chris Dodd and Barney Frank. I think the House Republicans ought to repeal the Dodd- Frank bill next week. I think it's a terrible bill. It -- I think Michele Bachmann has it exactly right. It is a job-killing, home-owner-killing, small-bank-killing, small-business-killing bill. They ought to repeal it, send it to the Senate, and we ought to build pressure on the Senate to repeal it. The fact is that the Congress and the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury -- I mean, I suggested tonight Bernanke ought to be fired. Geithner ought to be fired. If people are mad about the current economy, the right place to focus is Washington because Washington is a destroyer of jobs in this country. Worse under Obama, but the general underlying bureaucracy, the general underlying regulatory pattern has been building for a long time and it is killing jobs in America!”
Bernie Goldberg of the L.A. school district employee, an occupy Los Angeles woman, who wants to see the Zionist Jews run out of our country: “There’s a black woman, she’s well-spoken and well-dressed, and she’s a bigot. What are they [the media] going to do about that?” [quoted from memory]
Herman Cain: “Green energy is a joke.”
Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts governor and presidential hopeful, on Obama’s Iraq decision: "The unavoidable question is whether this decision is the result of a naked political calculation or simply sheer ineptitude in negotiations with the Iraqi government."
Presidential hopeful John Huntsman: "An ideal arrangement would have left a small troop presence that could have assisted with the training of Iraqi security forces and vital counterterror efforts."
Republican presidential candidate Michele
Bachmann: "Today's announcement that we will
remove all of our forces from Iraq is a political
decision and not a military one; it represents the
complete failure of President Obama to secure an
agreement with Iraq for our troops to remain
there to preserve the peace and demonstrates how far our foreign policy leadership has fallen. In every case where the United States has liberated a people from dictatorial rule, we have kept troops in that country to ensure a peaceful transition and to protect fragile growing democracies. We will now have fewer troops in Iraq than we have in Honduras - despite a costly and protracted war. President Obama's decision represents the end of the era of America's influence in Iraq and the strengthening of Iran's influence in Iraq with no plan to counter that influence. We have been ejected from a country by the people that we liberated and that the United States paid for with precious blood and treasure. The administration claims that we got exactly what we needed, but today's announcement demonstrates otherwise. The United States needed a working democratic partnership in Iraq and we should have demanded that Iraq repay the full cost of liberating them given their rich oil revenues. I call on the president to return to the negotiating table with Iraq and lead from the front and not from weakness in Iraq and in the world."
Herman Cain: "The thing I wouldn't do that the president is doing is telling the enemy how many troops you're going to bring out and when you are going to bring them out. I don't think that's a good strategy."
Tracy Byrnes, when it comes to eliminating entire departments: “Nobody knows what the Department of the Interior does—for all we know, they decorate.”
Radio show host Lores Rizkalla of the Arab Spring movement: “It seems way too coordinated.”
Rush Limbaugh: "The Democrat Party is notoriously known for being weak on crime. These are the people that tell us terrorists should be read their Miranda rights on the battlefield. Now, I don't know about you, but I haven't heard that anybody read Khadafy his Miranda rights before he was savagely slaughtered, so they're hypocrites to boot."
Weasel Zippers website: “Proposed campaign slogan: Vote Biden or get raped.”
FoxNews Commentator Tracy Byrnes on excess federal employees: “Just because someone is employed doesn’t mean they should be employed; a useless job is a useless job.”
Rush Limbaugh: "Who actually killed Khadafy? The narrative, the template is Obama did it. And that's all that matters. Whether it had anything to do with the truth or not, Obama did it. This was attended by gay and straight political heavy-hitters. So many people, because they cannot grasp large numbers, do not see much of a difference between the subprime mortgage crisis and, Bernie Madoff or the Enron scandal. They are scandals which involved a lot of money, and that is as far as the average brain takes it. Madoff and Enron were scandals which were in the billions of dollars, which is more than most of us can imagine in the first place. There were about 27 million risky mortgages outstanding in 2008. Let’s just assume $100,000 per mortgage. That takes us to a $2.7 trillion figure. If you are upset or enraged over Enron and/or Bernie Madoff, you ought to be 1000x more incensed over the subprime mortgage scandal. What Madoff did and the accounting of Enron hurt 1000's of people. However, the subprime mortgage crisis could be what bankrupts the United States if it is not dealt with correctly.

84% have no idea what Dodd-Frank is,
42% can't name the chairman of the Federal Reserve (just 38% can name him accurately),
68% don't know what "SEC" stands for,
10% can identify the top marginal income tax rate for the rich,
94% wrongly identify military spending as the federal government's largest expenditure.

●52% have participated in a political movement before
●98% say they would support civil disobedience to achieve their goals
●31% would support violence to advance their agenda
●A vast majority of demonstrators are actually employed, and the proportion of protesters unemployed (15%) is within single digits of the national unemployment rate (9.1%)
● An overwhelming majority of demonstrators supported Barack Obama in 2008
● 51% disapprove of the president while 44% approve, and only 48% say they will vote to re-elect him in 2012, while at least a quarter won't vote
● 32% call themselves Democrats, while roughly the same proportion (33%) say they aren't represented by any political party
● 65% say that government has a moral responsibility to guarantee all citizens access to affordable health care, a college education, and a secure retirement-no matter the cost.
● Protesters are divided on whether the bank bailouts were necessary (49%) or unnecessary (51%)

The Obama Media Complex seems to be in favor the Wall Street protesters. In covering the TEA party protests, who opposed the unconstitutional largess of the federal government, demonstrators received the Sarah Palin-treatment. Major stories were created out of small things, like signs held by obvious infiltrators, were used to define tens of thousands of everyday Americans who attended the TEA party gatherings.
The Wall Street occupiers are far less knowledgeable of both American government and of their own views; a third are willing to use violence to get their ends, and there have been numerous arrests, property damage and illegal activity practiced (drug use and sales, stealing, law-breaking, willful destruction of property, and sexual assault). The OMC either downplays these things or ignores them.

That makes all of the difference in the world.
When will there be a story written about how institutionalizing sharia law in Muslim countries is not that different from our Judeo-Christian ethics being a part of our founding? Writers may not want to admit to that.

Attacks by MSM on Herman Cain Increase
Come, let us reason together....
There is nothing more I would like than to see Herman Cain and Barack Obama debate. Well, a Gingrich-Obama debate would be better, because Newt would devastate the President in a debate, but I think Cain has a better chance at becoming the Republican nominee. Also, there is another important aspect to an Obama-Cain debate.
An Obama-Cain debate would be of great interest to the African American community. They would watch the debate. There would be two black men, with different world views, debating the issues, mano-a-mano. That could be a dramatic game-changer. African-Americans, who have been in the back pocket of the Democrats since LBJ, would get interested in such a debate. Then they would hear some of the issues, and the reasons why liberals believe one way, and conservatives believe another. I don’t think that most Blacks have heard a real political debate before with two articulate, successful black men. Now, Cain may not win 50%, but he might get 30%.
Then, more importantly, African-Americans would see what happens when you elect a true conservative. Right now, they have about 16% unemployment in their neighborhoods; they have a lot of crime, and a lot of single mothers (which is the source of many of their problems). When that changes; when their unemployment rate drops, after a conservative is elected more of them may realize that, it is not the government job to follow them around and hand them dollar bills when things get tough.
I told my mother a couple of years ago, just watch the Black unemployment rate; it almost always rises when there is a liberal in the White House.
Secondly, it would be nice to see a businessman, a CEO, in charge of the country. We have had politician after politician as president; however, a CEO may be a more logical choice. Our current president has never started his own business; he’s never been hampered by bureaucratic controls; he’s never been taxed so much or faced difficult situations where he had to let some of his employees go. He just does not have any sort of understanding of the private sector. I base this on his most recent jobs bill, which is really stimulus II. If he believes that this is the right direction for our country, then it indicates that Obama is unteachable. A politician can be unteachable; a CEO has to be able to learn and adapt, or he will not remain a CEO for long.
If you beg to differ with me, I offer up Joe Biden, who has outright lied two big lies in just this past week. In fact, one lie was so egregious , even the liberal Washington Post called him on it. The second lie was made to 4th grade children, that all we need is maybe an extra $500 or so from very, very rich men, who don’t need the money, and the school where Biden was talking could have their laid-off teachers back. That is not just hogwash; it is unforgivable hogwash, because he is saying this to little 4th graders. Yet, Biden is a life-long politician. He keeps getting elected. He did not just start lying or saying stupid things this past week. Biden is known for this. People still elect him.
Thirdly, Cain’s attitude and demeanor is more like Reagan’s than any other candidate that I have seen for awhile. Attitude and inner happiness are important to the conservative cause; and to the President of the United States.
Cain is a Christian, and it appears, although he does not milk this for votes, that Cain has a better idea of what it means to believe in Jesus Christ. Even FDR recognized the importance of the Bible, speaking of the United States as being the nation wherein the Word of God is taught.

Vision for Economic Renewal
• The natural state of our economy is prosperity. Freedom ensures that.
• In order to return to prosperity, Government must get off our backs, out of our pockets and out of our way
Economic Guiding Principles
• Production drives the economy, not spending. Production is the engine, consumption is the caboose.
• We can not spend our way to prosperity.
• Government spending is like taking a bucket of water from the deep end of the pool, pouring it in the shallow end. Then they HOPE that the water level will CHANGE.
• Risk taking drives growth.
• Business formation and job creation are dependent on entrepreneurs taking risks.
• Investors who fund those entrepreneurs likewise take risks.
• Measurements must be dependable.
• A dollar must always be a dollar just as an hour is always 60 minutes.
• Sound money is crucial for prosperity.
UNITE, never DIVIDE; UNITED around ECONOMIC GROWTH
• When one party is so focused on spending so that the other must focus on cutting, we must unite around economic growth
• Unite income tax payers with payroll taxpayers so we all pull for low rates
•Unite those wanting to eliminate deductions with those seeking lower rates.
•Unite the Flat-Taxers with the Fair-Taxers
Phase One
Our current economic crisis calls for bold action to truly stimulate the economy and Renew America back to its greatness. The 9-9-9 Plan gets Washington D.C. out of the business of picking winners and losers, using the tax code to dole out favors, and dividing the country with class warfare. It is fair, simple, transparent and efficient. It taxes everything once and nothing twice. It taxes the broadest possible base at the lowest possible rates. It is neutral with respect to savings and consumption, capital and labor, imports and exports and whether companies pay dividends or retain earnings.
9% Business Flat Tax
Gross income less all purchases from other U.S. located businesses, all capital investment, and net exports.
Empowerment Zones will offer deductions for the payroll of those employed in the zone
9% Individual Flat Tax.
Gross income less charitable deductions.
Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for those living and/or working in the zone.
9% National Sales Tax.
Unlike a state sales tax, which is an add-on tax that increases the price of goods and services, this is a replacement tax. It replaces taxes that are already embedded in selling prices. By replacing higher marginal rates in the production process with lower marginal rates, marginal production costs actually decline, which will lead to prices being the same or lower, not higher.
Economic Impact
According to former Reagan Treasury official Gary Robbins, of Fiscal Associates, the 9-9-9 Plan will expand GDP by $2 trillion, create 6 million new jobs, increase business investment by one third, and increase wages by 10%.
9-9-9 Plan: Summary
• Removes all payroll taxes and unites all tax payers
• Provides the least incentive to evade taxes and the fewest opportunities to do so
• Lifts a $430 billion dead-weight burden on the economy due to compliance, enforcement, collection, etc.
• Is fair, simple, efficient, neutral, and transparent
• Ends nearly all deductions and special interest favors
• Features zero tax on capital gains and repatriated profits
• Exports leave our shores without the Business Tax or the Sales Tax embedded in their cost, making them world class competitive. Imports are subject to the same taxation as domestically produced goods, leveling the playing field.
•Lowest marginal rates on production
•Kills the Death Tax
•Allows immediate expensing of business investments
•Eliminates double taxation of dividends
•Increases capital formation which aids capital availability for small businesses
•Increased capital per worker drives productivity and wage growth
•Features a platform to launch properly structured Empowerment Zones to renew our inner cities
•The pro-growth, pro-job, pro-export economic policies of the 9-9-9 PLAN equals a strong dollar policy
Phase 2 - The Fair Tax
Amidst a backdrop of the economic renewal created by the 9-9-9 Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax.
•Ultimately replaces individual and corporate income taxes
•Ends the IRS as we know it and repeals the 16th Amendment

Poor people will prosper under 9-9-9 - and so will the rest of the country
By Vince of Flopping Aces
Herman Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan is imperfect, but it's by far the best plan on the table. As such, criticism of 9-9-9 comes from all quarters.
The left is unhappy that its egalitarian nature is the opposite of the progressive tax structure we've had for a century. I suspect however that it is not simple tax policy that drives their antipathy, it's revenge. You don't have to listen very long to one of President Obama's "fair share" speeches to recognize it. Or watch much of the "Occupy your city here" demonstrations going on around the country to see the envy. The notion of those fat cat Wall Street bankers paying the same tax rate as a single mother of three who works two jobs to support her children is simply unacceptable.
The other main criticism from the left is that poor will pay more taxes than they do now while that rich will pay less. That is simply not true. Let's imagine the most difficult of possible situations, where a family of four has an income of $25,000 a year, all in the form of untaxed government benefits. Let's assume they spend every dollar they have every year. As it stands today, they would ostensibly pay no taxes.
In reality however if they spend their entire $25,000 income they are actually paying $5,750 in embedded taxes. According to the people over at FairTax.org, 23% of every dollar a consumer spends in the United States is due to federal taxes levied on employees, on corporate profits, in the form of excise taxes, etc. If that is the case, then when that family spends its $25,000, in reality, $5,750 of that is for federal taxes.
Under Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan that 23% would go away. Here's an example: Let's assume this family goes to the store and buys $100 worth of groceries. Under the current system, $23 of that total represents embedded taxes. If you remove that $23 from the total, then the cost of those groceries without taxes is $77. That 23% of embedded taxes would now become 9% as both profits and employees have a 9% tax rate. Therefore, the price on the shelf of the goods will now reflect the 9% embedded taxes and would cost $84. At the register the 9% sales tax would be added and the final price becomes $91.50. That's 8.5% less than they would have spent under the current system.
If you expand the $100 to the family's entire $25,000 income, they would actually end up spending $22,962 rather than their entire $25,000. In this case they actually end the year $2,037 richer than they do under the current system. While prices would not come down the day after 9-9-9 went into effect, competition would bring them down rapidly.
As for a family with an income that actually pays taxes, in almost all circumstances they come out ahead via the 9-9-9 plan. Read Ed Morrissey's piece over at HotAir.com to compare the numbers with a family of 4 earning $50,000. In the few cases where the family does not come out ahead, they too will pay less in taxes as a result of the lower embedded taxes.
From the right criticism comes in the form of suggesting that it has no chance of ever getting enacted. This is a red herring. If conservatives take the White House and the Senate, it will pass easily. And they won't need 60 votes to get it done as Harry Reid has decided that the nuclear option is no longer particularly toxic.
A more substantive complaint from the right is the very understandable notion that they don't want the kleptocrats in Washington to have another tool with which to beat the American taxpayer about the head, i.e. a sales tax that starts out as 9-9-9 could easily become 10-10-10 or 25-25-25. I can certainly appreciate that as our current system started out with a top rate of 7% in 1913 but reached 77% by 1918.
That rate creep danger does exist, but the truth of the matter is that it already does. If the passage of the wholly unconstitutional ObamaCare demonstrates one thing, it's that Washington thinks there are no limits to its power already. It's only the Tea Party and a few Republicans who are keeping a sales tax from happening today. Remember Nancy Pelosi proposing the VAT not so long ago? Besides, Cain is proposing that a balanced budget constitutional amendment be passed, and I would recommend that he adds language that requires a 2/3 majority in both houses to increase taxes. As a cherry on top, the 9-9-9 plan would eliminate the ability of politicians to skew the tax code to help their friends or harm their enemies.
At the end of the day, the thing that is most compelling about the 9-9-9 plan is the economic growth it will stimulate. This growth comes from two directions. The first is the $350 billion Americans spend each year simply complying with federal tax regulations.(here and here) That is the equivalent of a boost of 2% to the economy, or a $1,000 per person that Americans would have to spend. The second part of that is the investment and jobs that would be created. Today the United States corporate income tax rate is 35%. If the corporate income tax rate went from 35% to the 9% included in the 9-9-9 plan, you would see trillions of dollars in investment flood into the United States as companies repatriated profits held overseas and sought stronger financial results.
To put that change in perspective, under the current tax structure a company that earns $1 billion in the United States pays $350 million in corporate taxes, leaving the shareholders with a net profit of $650 million. If the 9-9-9 plan were in place those same shareholders would instead enjoy a net income of $910 million, fully $260 million more, or 40% more money in their pockets. The resulting rate would be amongst the lowest in the world and would make the United States an investment magnet for investors and companies from around the world.
Then of course there are jobs. I began this post talking about how the poor would not be negatively impacted by 9-9-9. Actually they will be positively impacted. What is the single most powerful way to turn poor people into middle class taxpayers? More and better paying jobs, of course. With a 9.1% unemployment rate there is little incentive for companies to increase the wages of their employees. There are simply too many people willing to step in and fill the shoes of any disgruntled employee. At an unemployment rate of 4% the dynamic is turned on its head where employees are far better positioned to demand and get wage increases. As economic growth creates millions of jobs and as demand for workers begins to outstrip supply, the value of those employees increases and their compensation follows suit.
At the end of the day 9-9-9 is by far the best plan on the table. It's easy to understand, it saves Americans money via lower prices, it means more investment, a growing economy, more jobs and higher wages. If Americans really want to return to prosperity, 9-9-9 will get them there. The question is, do they have the courage to finally walk away from incremental change and do something bold?

Ron Paul's Economic Plan: Cut 5 Cabinet Agencies, Cut Taxes, Cut President's Pay
By Danny Yadron
GOP presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul will unveil his economic plan Monday afternoon, calling for a lower corporate tax rate, cutting spending by $1 trillion during his first year in office and eliminating five cabinet-level agencies, including the Education Department, according to excerpts released to Washington Wire.
Mr. Paul's "Restore America" plan calls for a drastically reduced federal government to help spur American business - a familiar theme for the Texas Republican and many of the GOP White House hopefuls. But unlike some of his Republican rivals who have released economic plans, the libertarian congressman mostly avoids the weeds of tax and trade policy, according to excerpts.
But Mr. Paul does get specific when he calls for a 10% reduction in the federal work force, while pledging to limit his presidential salary to $39,336, which his campaign says is "approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker." The current pay rate for commander in chief is $400,000 a year.
The Paul plan would also lower the corporate tax rate to 15% from 35%, though it is silent on personal income tax rates, which Mr. Paul would like to abolish. The congressman would end taxes on personal savings and extend "all Bush tax cuts."
He would also allow U.S. firms to repatriate capital without additional taxes. Some lawmakers have recently proposed such legislation as a way to spur job growth. Its critics argue that a tax holiday for companies with money abroad has not historically led to domestic investment.
But the plan, at its heart, is libertarian. While promising to cut $1 trillion in spending during his first year, Mr. Paul would eliminate the Departments of Education, Commerce, Energy, Interior and Housing and Urban Development. When former Massachusetts Gov. MItt Romney unveiled his economic plan last month, he said he would submit legislation to reduce nonsecurity, discretionary spending by $20 billion.
Mr. Paul would also push for the repeal of the new health-care law, last year's Wall Street regulations law and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the 2002 corporate governance law passed in response to a number of corporate scandals, including Enron.
Other proposal are more vague, and the campaign has not yet released estimates of economic growth under the plan.
Mr. Paul, who wrote the book "End the Fed," calls for an audit of the Federal Reserve and "competing currency legislation to strengthen the dollar and stabilize inflation." The excerpts did not provide more details on how such legislation would work.
When it comes to Social Security, Medicare and other entitlement programs, Mr. Paul wants a system that "honors our promise to our seniors and veterans, while allowing young workers to opt out." He also wants to run Medicaid, the state-federal health care program for the poor, and "other welfare programs" through block grants to states.

President Barack Obama is a Venture Socialist
by Brian Darling
U.S. President Barack Obama is a Venture Socialist. Venture Capitalists put up money on start-up companies with privately raised money in an effort to make a profit. Venture Socialism is when a government uses taxpayer moneys to invest in private companies to promote a political outcome. President Obama has used taxpayer loan guarantees authorized by his original stimulus plan to fund risky green energy ventures including solar panels and electric cars.
Obama is willing to put the taxpayers on the hook for risky investments favored by liberals in the federal government and friendly corporate interests. It does not matter if money is lost, because the federal government does not care if they make money on these investments. Obama is a Venture Socialist, and also a Crony Capitalist, in the sense that he has been funneling money to private enterprises run by liberals. It is a great time in America to be a corporate friend of the Obama Administration.
ABC News reports that the Obama Administration has invested American tax dollars in another risky green energy adventure -- Fisker.
With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work. Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department's $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. But two years after the loan was announced, the job of assembling the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car has been outsourced to Finland.
Henrick Fisker, the founder of the Company, admitted to ABC News that 500 manufacturing jobs migrated to manufacture electric sports cars in Finland to a Finnish company Valmet Automotive. These cars cost $97,000, so don't expect middle to low income Americans to ever benefit from these sports cars for the rich. Movie star Leonardo DiCaprio seems to be the target audience, because he was delivered one of the first cars manufactured.
Guess who has invested in this no lose proposition? Former Vice President and global warming activist Al Gore.
The loan to Fisker is part of a $1 billion bet the Energy Department has made in two politically connected California-based electric carmakers producing sporty -- and pricey -- cutting-edge autos. Fisker Automotive, backed by a powerhouse venture capital firm whose partners include former Vice President Al Gore, predicts it will eventually be churning out tens of thousands of electric sports sedans at the shuttered GM factory it bought in Delaware. And Tesla Motors, whose prime backers include PayPal mogul Elon Musk and Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, says it will do the same in a massive facility tooling up in Silicon Valley.
If this investment is a success, Gore will make millions. If this investment is a failure, then the taxpayers will lose millions. Venture Socialism can be lucrative for those who have insider information on the name of companies the Obama Administration is willing to back.
Neil McCabe at Human Events reported on another Venture Socialist experiment for the Obama Administration - SunPower. SunPower manufactures solar panels and roof tiles at a cost of $80 million per job to the American taxpayer for the 350 permanent American jobs expected to be created.
How did a failing California solar company, buffeted by short sellers and shareholder lawsuits, receive a $1.2 billion federal loan guarantee for a photovoltaic electricity ranch project-three weeks after it announced it was building new manufacturing plant in Mexicali, Mexico, to build the panels for the project. The company, SunPower (SPWR-NASDAQ), now carries $820 million in debt, an amount $20 million greater than its market capitalization. If SunPower was a bank, the feds would shut it down. Instead, it received a lifeline twice the size of the money sent down the Solyndra drain.
The answer is that the company had friends in the Obama Administration and on Capitol Hill.
That brings us to Solyndra. Solyndra was a California based solar panel company that received $535 million in taxpayer backed loans. The company recently declared bankruptcy and laid off over one thousand American workers.
According to Bloomberg, President Obama visited the company to promote it as a model Venture Socialist green energy investment for the taxpayers at a time when accounting firms were sounding alarms about the company's economic viability.
Solyndra LLC's workers making solar-power panels in a California factory subsidized by U.S. taxpayers showed "the promise of clean energy isn't just an article of faith," President Barack Obama said on a visit to the company in May 2010. Two months before Obama's visit, accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP warned that Solyndra, the recipient of $535 million in federal loan guarantees, had financial troubles deep enough to "raise substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern."
After the trip, the company descended into bankruptcy because they could not sell solar panels at a profit. This company had links to Obama fundraiser George Kaiser and he made numerous trips to the White House to protect his investment in Solyndra.
The Obama Administration has engaged in a dangerous game of investing taxpayer monies in risky private enterprises. These investments are not worthy of Venture Capitalist monies, because private sector investors are interested in making money, not putting up cash on ventures unlikely to make a profit. The American taxpayers have been the big loser in this President Obama's Venture Socialist experiment.

Biden's Fourth-Grade Economics
How to justify unaffordable and inefficient stimulus
by Mark Steyn
In one of those inspired innovations designed to keep American classrooms on the cutting edge of educational excellence, the administration has been sending Joe Biden out to talk to schoolchildren. Last week, it was the fourth grade at Alexander B. Goode Elementary School in York, Pa., that found itself on the receiving end of the vice president's wisdom:
“Here in this school, your school, you've had a lot of teachers who used to work here, but because there's no money for them in the city, they're not working.
Who knew it was that easy?
So let's see if I follow the vice president's thinking:
The school laid off these teachers because "there's no money for them in the city." That's true. York City School District is broke. It has a $14 million budget deficit.
So instead Washington, D.C., is going to "give you some money" to hire these teachers back.
So, unlike York, Pa., presumably Washington, D.C., has "money for them"?
No, not technically. Washington, D.C., is also broke - way broker than York City School District. In fact, the government of the United States is broker than any entity has ever been in the history of the planet. Officially, Washington has to return 15,000,000,000,000 dollars just to get back to having nothing at all. And that 15,000,000,000,000 dollars is a very lowball figure that conveniently ignores another $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities that the government, unlike private businesses, is able to keep off the books.
So how come the Brokest Jurisdiction in History is able to "give you some money" to hire back those teachers that had to be laid off?
No problem, says the vice president. We're going to "ask" people who have "a lot of money" to "pay just a little bit more" in taxes.
Where are these people? Evidently, not in York, Pa. But they're out there somewhere. Who has "a lot of money"? According to President Obama, if your combined household income is over $250,000 a year you have "a lot of money." Back in March, my National Review colleague Kevin Williamson pointed out that, in order to balance the budget of the United States, you would have to increase the taxes of people earning more than $250,000 a year by $500,000 a year.
Okay, okay, maybe that 250K definition of "bloated plutocrat" is a bit off. After all, the quarter-mil-a-year category includes not only bankers and other mustache-twirling robber barons, but also at least 50 school superintendents in the State of New York and many other mustache-twirling selfless public servants.
So how about people earning a million dollars a year? That's "a lot of money" by anybody's definition. As Kevin Williamson also pointed out, to balance the budget of the United States on the backs of millionaires you would have to increase the taxes of those earning more than 1 million a year by 6 million a year.
Not only is there "no money in the city" of York, Pa., and no money in Washington, D.C., there's no money anywhere else in America - not for spending on the Obama/Biden scale. Come to that, there's no money anywhere on the planet: Last year, John Kitchen of the U.S. Treasury and Menzie Chinn of the University of Wisconsin published a study called "Financing U.S. Debt: Is There Enough Money in the World - and At What Cost?"
Don't worry, it's a book with a happy ending! U.S.-government spending is sustainable as long as by 2020 the rest of the planet is willing to sink 19 percent of its GDP into U.S. Treasury debt. And why wouldn't they? After all, if you're a Chinese politburo member or a Saudi prince or a Russian kleptocrat or a Somali pirate and you switched on CNN International and chanced to catch Joe Biden's Fourth Grade Economics class, why wouldn't you cheerily dump a fifth of your GDP into a business model with such a bright future?
Since 1970, public-school employment has increased ten times faster than public-school enrollment. In 2008, the United States spent more per student on K-12 education than any other developed nation except Switzerland - and at least the Swiss have something to show for it. In 2008, York City School District spent $12,691 per pupil - or about a third more than the Swiss. Slovakia's total per-student cost is less than York City's current per-student deficit - and the Slovak kids beat the United States at mathematics, which may explain why their budget arithmetic still has a passing acquaintanceship with reality. As in so many other areas of American life, the problem is not the lack of money but the fact that so much of the money is utterly wasted.
But that's no reason not to waste even more! So the president spent last week touring around in his weaponized Canadian bus telling Americans that Republicans were blocking plans to "put teachers back in the classroom." Well, where are they now? Not every schoolmarm is down at the Occupy Wall Street drum circle, is she? No, indeed. And in that respect York City is a most instructive example: Five years ago (the most recent breakdown I have), the district had 440 teachers but 295 administrative and support staff. If you're thinking that sounds a little out of whack, that just shows what a dummy you are: For every three teachers we "put back in the classroom," we need to hire two bureaucrats to put back in the bureaucracy to fill in the paperwork to access the federal funds to put teachers back in the classroom. One day it will be three educrats for every two teachers, and the system will operate even more effectively.
It's just about possible to foresee, say, Iceland or Ireland getting its spending under control. But, when a nation of 300 million people presumes to determine grade-school hiring and almost everything else through an ever more centralized bureaucracy, you're setting yourself up for waste on a scale unknown to history. For example, under the Obama "stimulus," U.S. taxpayers gave a $529 million loan guarantee to the company Fisker to build their Karma electric car. At a factory in Finland.
If you're wondering how giving half a billion dollars to a Finnish factory stimulates the U.S. economy, well, what's a lousy half-bil in a multi-trillion-dollar sinkhole? Besides, in the 2009 global rankings, Finnish schoolkids placed sixth in math, third in reading, and second in science, while suffering under the burden of a per-student budget half that of York City. By comparison, America placed 17th in reading, 23rd in science, and 31st in math. So the good news is that, by using U.S.-government money to fund a factory in Finland, Fisker may be able to hire workers smart enough to figure out how to build an unwanted electric car that doesn't lose its entire U.S.-taxpayer investment.
In a sane world, Joe Biden's remarks would be greeted by derisive laughter, even by fourth graders. Certainly by Finnish fourth graders.

Alana Goodman on Commentary Magazine adds:
He [Biden] forgot to mention the part where the teachers' unions rebuffed negotiations with local governments, preferring to take the layoffs rather than stomach cuts to benefits. Sending an extra influx of federal money to school districts is like taking painkillers and expecting them to heal a broken arm. The arm might stop hurting for awhile, but once the medicine runs out it's still going to be broken. Any teachers rehired because of Obama's stimulus have a good chance of finding themselves out of a job a few years later unless local governments are able to fix deep-seated problems with unions and budget mismanagement.
But while the benefits of the stimulus are temporary, the mechanism the government would use to fund it aren't:
Biden: “And the way we're gonna do it is we're going to ask people who have a lot of money, who are in good shape, who are doing very well, to pay just a little bit more in taxes. So for example, we're going to say to people who make a million dollars, and there's not a lot of those people, we're going to say, you pay $500 a year more in taxes. And if everybody making a million dollars, or those people who make more than a million dollars like billionaires, if they pay a little bit more in taxes they can pay for all the teachers and all the firefighters and all the police officers who lost their jobs to come back and help the community. And that's what we're here today talking about.”
Either Biden is horrible at math (it's forgivable), or he's deliberately being misleading here. Under Obama's 5 percent surtax proposal, a millionaire wouldn't pay $500 extra a year - he'd pay $50,000 extra a year. We can argue about whether or not that's fair, but to claim it's just an additional $500 is just flat-out false.

Biden's absurd claims about rising rape and murder rates
By Glenn Kessler (of the Washington Post)
"Let's look at the facts: in 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on their police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city. In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65 and rapes-just to pick two categories-climbed to 229. In 2011, you now only have 125 shields."
--Vice President Biden, October 18, 2011
"In Flint, Michigan, they cut their force in half; murder rates have doubled in the last year.Police departments, as I said, in some cases literally cut in half, like Camden, New Jersey, and Flint, Michigan. In many cities, the result has been -- and it's not unique -- murder rates are up, robberies are up, rapes are up.I said rape was up, three times in Flint. There are the numbers. Go look at the numbers."
--Biden, October 19, 2011, on Capitol Hill
In the battle over the administration's jobs bill, Vice President Biden this week has been making the startling case that more people will be murdered or raped if the legislation is not passed. His argument is that in cities such as Flint, Mich., the murder and rape rates have soared as the police force has been cut back for budgetary reasons.
When challenged by a reporter from a conservative publication about his charge (see video below), Biden stood his ground and said without more money, "murder will continue to rise, rape will continue to rise, all crimes will continue to rise." As he put it, "Go look at the numbers."
Okay, challenge taken. What do the numbers show?
The Facts
Flint is certainly a violent city, ranked number one in many categories. The website of the Flint Police Department only gives data through 2008, but both the FBI and the Michigan State Police have more recent figures that are provided to them by the Flint police. The numbers are not precisely the same because of different reporting requirements, but they are roughly the same-and show a different picture than reported by Biden.
The Flint website for 2008 shows the same figures that Biden cited: 35 murders and 91 rapes.
Here's what the FBI shows:
2008
City of Flint: 32 murders, 103 rapes
Surrounding area: 37 murders, 239 rapes
RATE PER 100,000 INHABITANTS: murder, 8.6; rape 55.5
2009
City of Flint: 36 murders, 91 rapes
Surrounding area: 44 murders, 235 rapes
RATE PER 100,000 INHABITANTS: murder, 10.3; rape, 55.1
2010
City of Flint: 53 murders, 92 rapes
Surrounding area: 58 murders, 225 rapes
RATE PER 100,000 INHABITANTS: murder, 13.8; rape 53.7
More important than the raw figures is the rate per 100,000 individuals. Murder did go up-though the rate did not double from 2009 to 2010, as Biden claimed. But rape has gone down. Biden actually asserted it had tripled.
Biden's office referred us to officials in Flint. After inquiries from The Fact Checker, Dawn Jones, a spokeswoman for Flint's mayor, issued a statement from Public Safety Director Chief Alvern Lock saying: "The City of Flint stands behind the crime statistics provided to the Office of The Vice President..This information is the most accurate data and demonstrates the rise in crime associated with the economic crisis and the reduced staffing levels."
The statement said the murder rate for 2010 was different than the FBI statistics because of a "clerical error" when the data was submitted to the FBI. (Someone in the police department forgot to add people to the murder rate if they died long after the assault.) But the revised number for the FBI will be 58 murders, not Biden's figure of 65, because the FBI only counts willful homicides, not manslaughter and negligent homicide, Jones said.
The statement, however, was strangely silent on the massive discrepancy in the rape statistics. There have been a number of studies (see here and here) that document that the FBI statistics do not capture all forms of rape. The FBI stats include forcible intercourse but not oral sex or other forms of sexual assault.
But that issue does not explain why Biden's rape statistics would be so much higher than what was reported in the local press over the years. The Flint Journal on May 24, in fact, reported the number of rapes had declined in the city from 2009 to 2010.
Jones, in an interview, said that the city had never released the broader rape figure to the public until the vice president's office requested the data. "We have never shared that number," she said, agreeing that it was strange that Flint's official rape figure for 2008-91--was actually lower than the FBI figure for that year, even with the FBI's more narrow definition of rape.
"I am thinking that maybe there is no policy on how we input those numbers," Jones said. She could not provide an explanation Thursday night, but our working assumption is that these numbers are apples and oranges. The proper comparison with Flint's 2008 figure appears to be the FBI's figure for 2010--showing a decline in rapes. The higher figure for 2010 cited by Biden is simply a different data set.
Interestingly, Flint Police Chief Lock has repeatedly asserted that cuts in staffing had little effect on the crime rate.
As the Flint Journal reported in May: "Officials said the fact that 46 police officers were laid off last year had little to do with the escalating crime. Most of the crimes were between people that knew each other. `No matter how many officers we have, we can't stop disputes between two people in their own homes,' Lock said."
Lock made a similar assertion in September, 2010, when FBI statistics were released showing violent crime in Flint had decreased in 2009. The Flint Journal reported: "A smaller police force doesn't automatically mean more crime, said Flint police chief Alven Lock. `There's been years when we had 300 officers and we still had more homicides,' he said, referring to 1986, when he was in the homicide division and homicides hit an all-time high of 61."
As Jones put it, "we have a messaging problem."
This brings us to the central point of Biden's argument--that fewer police officers means more crime. More police officers might certainly mean more arrests and convictions, particularly for less noteworthy crimes, but researchers have strived to make a link between murders and officers on the street.
University of Chicago economist Steven D. Levitt, who examined ten possible factors for why crime fell in the 1990s, made a noteworthy effort in 2004 to assess the importance of additional cops. He included the increase in police as one factor that could explain the decline in crime. But he also said that other key factors included a rising prison population, the receding crack epidemic and even the legalization of abortion (which resulted in fewer unwanted births).
In other words, even if you could make a link, it is likely one of many factors that affects the crime rate, not the single one, as Biden suggests. The FBI itself lists more than a dozen variables in what causes crime to increase in a community.
Others believe the connection is tenuous, at best. "There is limited or no correlation between the number of officers and the homicide rate," said David Carter, a Michigan State University criminal justice professor who works with the Justice Department to track homicides. "To draw any kind of conclusion on simply the number of officers and the number of homicides is virtually meaningless. There are too many other variables that will influence the commission of homicides as well as clearances. In essence, the reporting of this simple data, whether using Biden's data or city data, does not describe changes in the incidents of homicides in Flint or any city."
Andrew Kramer of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice also has closely studied the reasons for the decline of crime in New York City. "The NYPD has decreased in size by about 4,000 officers to 36,000 since 2000 and yet crime has continued to go down," he said.
The Pinocchio Test
Biden, when he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1994, was author of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, the largest crime bill in U.S. history. On the face of it, a threefold increase in rape in two years-when other violent crime statistics show relatively modest increases in the same city-should raise serious questions for anyone knowledgeable about crime or statistics. Clearly, the city of Flint supplied bad data, and either Biden or someone in Biden's office should have caught it.
In any case, the vice president should know better than to spout off half-baked facts in service of a dubious argument. Even if one believes there is a link between crime and the number of police-which is debatable and subject to many caveats-there is no excuse to make the dramatic claim that more people will die or be raped without additional funds for police. When making such a breathtaking charge, you had better have your facts straight.

What Occupy Wall Street Can Learn From the Tea Party
by Bill O'Connell
From what I have been able to learn about the Occupy Wall Street protesters, they are a far cry from the Tea Party, but as a firm defender of the First Amendment and a believer in honest debate, I do have some suggestions for how the OWS folks could be more effective.
1) Know what you stand for before you protest.
2) Know as much about your subject matter as those you want to influence.
3) Know who your adversaries are.
When the Tea Party took to the streets in 2009, it was to protest excessive spending, a bloated federal government, and one-size-fits-all solutions being driven from Washington. Five weeks into the Occupy Wall Street protests, according to the New York Times, protesters "formed the Demands Working Group about a week and a half ago, hoping to identify specific actions they would formally ask local and federal governments to adopt."
When the mainstream media came out to cover the Tea Party, what they found was nearly everybody they talked to knew why they were there, could express it in their own words, and could back it up with references to the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Federalist Papers. When Fox News libertarian John Stossel came out to talk to the Occupy Wall Street folks, he was greeted by some bearded guy screaming, "You lie, Stossel, you lie! I've watched your show! You lie!" And then the guy turned away.
New York Magazine went out and asked some questions of the OWS protestors with the following results:
- What is the Dodd-Frank Act? 84% didn't know.
- What is the SEC? 68% didn't know.
- Does the government spend more on health care and pensions, education, or the military? 94% said the military. Actually, the military is 20% of the budget, while Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and education account for 44%.
Know who your adversaries are. When the OWS protestors went uptown to protest outside of the houses of some wealthy businessmen, they walked right past George Soros' home (Wall Street) and went to protest in front of Rupert Murdoch's (media) and David Koch's (fertilizer) home. If they wanted to protest against those who really had a role in this mess, why aren't they protesting in Lafayette Park, across from the White House? After all, President Barack Obama raked in more money from Wall Street than any candidate in history, and he was the one who actually bailed out the Wall Street guys. Credibility matters. But don't worry too much. The mainstream media will be providing you air cover, while they continue to strafe the Tea Party.
If you want to have some political pull, know what you want, know more about the subject matter than just slogans, and go after the right people. And don't forget, public spaces belong to all of us, leave them cleaner than when you found them.

[Jesus is] the Perfect Conservative
by Herman Cain
He was not born into a royal family, but He left a royal impression on the world.
For 30 years, He learned the ways of the world without becoming of the world. He then changed the world for the better.
He led without a mandate. He taught without a script. His common sense parables filled people with promise and compassion, His words forever inspiring.
He never condemned what others believed - just sin, evil and corruption.
He helped the poor without one government program. He healed the sick without a government health care system. He feed the hungry without food stamps. And everywhere He went, it turned into a rally, attracting large crowds, and giving them hope, encouragement and inspiration.
For three years He was unemployed, and never collected an unemployment check. Nevertheless, he completed all the work He needed to get done. He didn't travel by private jet. He walked and sailed, and sometimes traveled on a donkey.
But they made Him walk when He was arrested and taken to jail, and no, He was not read any Miranda Rights. He was arrested for just being who He was and doing nothing wrong. And when they tried Him in court, He never said a mumbling word.
He didn't have a lawyer, nor did He care about who judged Him.
His judge was a higher power.
The liberal court found Him guilty of false offences and sentenced Him to death, all because He changed the hearts and minds of men with an army of 12.
His death reset the clock of time.
Never before and not since has there ever been such a perfect conservative.
For over 2,000 years the world has tried hard to erase the memory of the perfect conservative, and His principles of compassion, caring and common sense.
His followers are now millions and millions the world over, as those who resent Him have intensified their attacks on who He was and what His followers believe.
The attacks are disguised as political correctness, or a misunderstanding of the First Amendment to the Constitution. Separation of Church and State does not mean Separation of Church from State. The State cannot impose Church on the people, but the people can display and say as much Church in the public square as they desire.
Our Founders recognized that distinction, which helped to inspire the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the founding of this nation - The United States of America!
We must be the Defending Fathers and the defenders of the perfect conservative.
That's why I proudly wish one and all a very Merry Christmas!
President Obama Spending Our Money
By Bill O'Reilly
With a number of European countries on the verge of bankruptcy, which is badly damaging the worldwide economy, attention is now shifting to the USA because bankruptcy could be looming here as well. Please listen closely to these statistics.
In 2007, during the Bush administration, federal deficit spending was $161 billion, despite the Iraq and Afghan wars. Four years later under President Obama the deficit spending is $1.3 trillion, eight times as much.
To be fair, the economy collapsed on Bush's watch, and both Republicans and Democrats committed almost a trillion dollars to prop up the economy. As we all know, the stimulus spending did not work very well.
But the Obama administration has not cut back. Today the feds are spending $9.8 billion every day. That breaks down to $410 million per hour. Tax revenue has actually gone up. It's 21 percent higher this year than last, but there's no way Americans can bring down the federal debt with their tax dollars. The spending is just too massive.
Now you would think President Obama, for his own political survival, would support drastic cuts in federal spending, but he does not, and neither does the Democratic Party in general. In fact, the far-left loons want to spend more, believing against all evidence that it will get us out of the stubborn recession. So if the Republicans are smart -- a big if -- they will simply run a campaign on economics.
There is no question that the Obama administration has embraced out-of-control spending. That is not debatable. And if the deficit spending doesn't stop, the USA will become like Greece, insolvent and chaotic.
Sadly, many Americans simply do not want to pay attention to what's happening in Washington. They want to pursue their lives without embracing reality. They believe what they hear, and often times they don't hear anything other than their own point of view.
Well "Talking Points" is playing Paul Revere. Bankruptcy is coming, and the Democrats are not considering that reality. The tax the rich mantra is a delusion. There are not enough rich people in the country to even put a dent in the federal debt. Government spending should revert back to the year 2007 when we had a manageable deficit. That was just four years ago, and most of us were living well then.
Whoever the Republican challenger is must make it as simple as that.
And that's "The Memo."
President Obama and 'Occupy Wall Street' Protesters
By Bill O'Reilly
Let's take this step by step. First of all, the people behind the protests are smart. They have designed a plan that deflects the bad economy away from President Obama onto greedy Wall Street people and by extension the Republican Party.
It works this way: The protesters scream that Wall Street greed is why the worldwide economy is so bad. And who supports big business? Why, the Republicans do.
Simple, effective and some in the media have latched onto the theme. The economic disaster in America is not the president's fault; it's the fault of corrupt Wall Street greed-heads.
Whether he knows it or not, President Obama lit the fuse for this plan by openly stating that corporations and the wealthy are not paying their fair share in taxes. "Talking Points" doesn't know whether Mr. Obama knew his class warfare rhetoric would ignite public protest, but it has, and surely the president understands the power of his words. On Sunday at the Martin Luther King Memorial he said this:
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Dr. King understood that peace without justice was no peace at all, that aligning our reality with our ideals often requires the speaking of uncomfortable truths and the creative tension of nonviolent protests.
If he were alive today, I believe he would remind us that the unemployed worker can rightly challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonizing all who work there.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
The president's use of the word "justice" is interesting. What's the definition of justice?
Some folks believe that justice is making sure everybody has the same amount of money. That's the income equality group. They want governments around the world to take money away from the affluent and business and give it to the "people." And spurred on by the demonstrations in the USA, protesters all over the world are now demanding social justice.
What people have to understand is that these demonstrators come from a variety of places. Some are hardcore communists; some are socialists; some are just confused and/or looking for some action. Most of these people don't know the big picture. They're just out there protesting whatever beef they may have. The commonality here is that the protesters despise capitalism, believing it unfair. And sometimes it is, just like every system can be unfair.
The greedy business people who invented the giant mortgage con absolutely damaged the worldwide economy. They are villains. There's no question about it.
But you don't see these protesters screaming about countries like Greece, Spain, Portugal and other social justice nations going bankrupt because of excessive spending on entitlements. That bankruptcy spectrum is hurting the worldwide economy far more than any mortgage scheme ever did.
You also don't see the protesters angry with the Democratic Party here in America for spending this country into near bankruptcy, badly damaging the currency and retirement accounts.
No, none of that is on display. It's all about social justice.
The truth is that many protesters in America simply don't like their country. They don't want to compete in the free marketplace. They want to do their own thing and be guaranteed financial security while doing it. Again, they don't want to compete; they want to be supported.
Meantime, the demonstrations are costing working taxpayers millions of dollars. Money down the drain.
On another front, it is instructive to see how the left-wing media in America are supporting the demonstrators. Think back a year ago when the Tea Party was demonstrating for smaller government and responsible spending. Did the media support that effort? Of course not. It demonized the Tea Party as racist and insensitive to the needs of the poor.
So what happens now? Well, my pal Glenn Beck says this is just the beginning of worldwide rioting and revolt designed to tear down the capitalistic system. "Talking Points" believes the protesters will in the short run ramp it up. They are now emboldened, and the powerful people behind President Obama certainly see this as an opportunity. If Wall Street becomes the economic issue, Mr. Obama will be much better off. The president's campaign chief, David Axelrod, gave us a preview on Sunday:
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DAVID AXELROD, BARACK OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN CHIEF: I don't think any American is impressed when they see Governor Romney and all the Republican candidates say the first thing they would do is roll back Wall Street reforms and go back to where we were before the crisis and let Wall Street write its own rules. I think that will be an issue.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
Interesting, right? The Democrats know they can't defend President Obama's economic record, so they will deflect it into another arena and the media will buy it.
But "Talking Points" is not buying it. Capitalism gives the most amount of people the most opportunity to succeed on their own. Europe is collapsing economically because of rampant social justice spending. The Soviet Union collapsed. Cuba and Venezuela are disasters. Socialism never works.
But worldwide there are millions of people who want stuff without working for it, and they are capable of using force trying to get that stuff. Not a nice picture.
And that's "The Memo."
Who is at fault for the risky mortgages? Government is responsible for ⅔ of them.

Only 12 percent of all 12th graders are "proficient" or "advanced" in U.S. History according to the 2010 National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP). Less than half of all high school seniors display even a "basic" knowledge about American History. Less than two-thirds of all seniors show a "basic" understanding of our system of government.

Senate Democrats Vote for More Rape and Murder
RUSH: Did you see that? Senate Democrats have voted for more women to get raped, and Senate Democrats also voted for more murders. Senate Democrats voted down Obama's anti-rape and anti-murder bill. Senate Democrats voted against the $35 billion bill that would have prevented rape. We never heard from rapists yesterday about whether they were scared or not. Maybe we'll hear from some today.
If you were not with us in the third hour yesterday, as you know, Vice President "Bite Me" has been ratcheting this up. He's running from Flint, Michigan, to any number of places trying to convince the American people to support the passage of the president's jobs bill, $35 billion jobs bill so he can hire more cops and more firefighters and more teachers, 'cause if we don't do that there are gonna be more rapes in Flint, Michigan. There are gonna be more rapes everywhere, and of course this is patently outrageous and ridiculous. I thought we would go about it in a different way. Obviously this meant that the nation's rapists and purse snatchers and murderers would be eagerly watching the Senate vote today. We even speculated they might be watching C-SPAN.
So we put out a call yesterday to murderers and rapists to call here and tell us if you're worried and what you plan on doing. For example, if the jobs bill goes down in defeat, if the Democrats vote it down, which they did, are you gonna go commit more rapes? Or, on the other hand, if the bill passes, are you going to commit fewer rapes? Are you waiting for the Senate vote on this? Because the vice president's made it sound -- not made it sound -- he's assured, he has predicted, he has confirmed that if this thing doesn't pass, that there will be more rapes, not just in Flint, Michigan, but everywhere. And who better to ask than rapists. I put out the call for rapists yesterday to call in, we didn't get any. Snerdley is asking me now, it's Open Line Friday, if the offer still holds. It's Open Line Friday, Snerdley, what can I tell you? We'll see what we get.
But it is clear that the Senate Democrats voted for more rape and for more murder yesterday by turning down the president's job bill. I mean what else can you conclude, since the Democrat-controlled Senate failed to pass Obama's jobs bill. It was a straight up and down majority vote. The Democrats control 53 seats in the Senate. They couldn't even muster 51 votes for this vitally important bill to stop rape. So, apparently, it still hasn't been broken down into small enough bite-size chunks for even the Democrats to swallow.
RUSH: Let's go to the audio sound bites very quickly because at the daily press briefing yesterday at the White House, a reporter asked the press secretary, Jay Carney, the following question: "The vice president said that murder will continue to rise, rape will continue to rise, all crime will continue to rise. Does the president agree that that's gonna happen if his jobs bill doesn't pass the Senate?"
CARNEY: I think it would be hard to find anyone who doesn't agree with the simple equation that fewer police officers on the street has a direct effect on the crime rate. That's the point he was making and that's a point that the president absolutely does --
RUSH: Actually it doesn't, and we have the statistics to back it up. FactCheck.org has gone to work, and they have nailed every argument and every stat that Biden used. Folks, I'm gonna tell you something. This is unhinged with Biden and this rape business and now Obama signing on, Jay Carney. I have a theory about this. It goes beyond the fact that they're just lunatics. They're trying to distract us. I think there's something going on somewhere, polling data, whatever it is, that is so bad 'cause this is over-the-top silly and stupid. For Carney to jump into this, (imitation) "Oh, yeah, we fully support the vice president, that jobs bill doesn't pass there are gonna be more rapes. Oh, yeah, fewer cops equals more rapes." So the reporter said, "But Mr. Secretary, the Republicans are jumping on this. They're saying that they're being told that their opposition means more people will be raped, more people will be murdered. What does the president say to them?"
CARNEY: Are Republicans arguing that there is no correlation between the number of cops on the beat and the crime rate? That would be an interesting argument to hear. It's a new one, a novel one, but I'd like to hear it. Yes, we are saying that more police officers on the beat is a good thing and will help keep crime rates lower. More firefighters fighting fires will reduce the impact that fires will have on our communities and will save lives. That's a fact.
RUSH: What kind of talk is this, more firefighters fighting fires will reduce the impact that fires have in our communities? What is that? That's like yesterday I jokingly referred to the rapist community to call in. The rapist community. Everything's a community out there, root word: commune. So the White House has doubled down on this, and the president shares this point of view. They're not walking this back. They're not trying to clarify it, and they're not trying to inject a little intelligence or common sense. They're backing Bite Me fully. I mean they could say, "Well, we're not saying specifically that rapes ramp up. What we're trying to do here is say that more firefighters and more cops could have an effect on the commission of crime or apprehension of criminals," or what have you. But they're not doing that. They're going all-in on this.
Now, more firefighters do not prevent more fires. Fewer Smoky Bears or fewer campers or fewer lightning strikes. But you could add a thousand firefighters to your town today, it's not gonna change the number of fires that break out. How many firemen would it take for there never to be any fires? How many policemen would it take for there never to be any rapes? How many cops would it take for there never to be any robberies? Ain't gonna happen, which is why yesterday I wanted to try to go at this from the back end, so to speak, and talk to the actual criminals and ask them if they were watching all this and if the jobs bill passed, if rapists would commit fewer rapes. I wanted to know what they were thinking. I wanted to know if they were following. Bank robbers, people that hold up the Quickie Mart, purse snatchers, murderers, these little back barnyard thugs.
RUSH: From the National Journal: "Police officers, firefighters, and teachers are yesterday's news. Senate Democrats are moving on to contractors and construction workers. After the defeat on Thursday night of legislation to give $35 billion to states and cities to hire and retain teachers and first responders, Senate Democratic leaders and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood are highlighting the next proposal designed to highlight the individual components of President Obama's jobs message." Are you ready for this one? "This piece of the president's jobs bill seeks $50 billion," not 35 to stop rape. Now we're up here to $50 billion, "for immediate spending on the nation's transportation network and another $10 billion to form an infrastructure bank to lure more private-sector investment into the maintenance and construction of roads, bridges, railways, and runways."
So the next message is traffic and potholes, $50 billion to stop traffic and fill potholes. Thirty-five billion for cops, firemen, and teachers, and fewer rapes, murders, and purse snatchings. Now $50 billion for traffic improvements, pothole repair. That's in the National Journal. This is where they're headed next.

This is What Democracy Looks Like? Vanquished Khadafy on Car Hood
RUSH: Now, according to reporters on the ground in Libya, Colonel Khadafy's body -- there's one good thing about this guy's death, and that is the tombstone. We're finally gonna find out how he spells it. There are about 120 different versions of the spelling of Khadafy's name. (interruption) Oh, they did? AP's got a story on how he spells it, it's in the stack here? Oh cool, we know that. So we don't have to wait for the tombstone. Fine. Not what I was going to say anyway. That was just a random thought.
According to reporters on the ground in Libya, Colonel Khadafy's body was put on the hood of a car and driven around the town of Misurata yesterday. Some of the rebels even posed with the corpse of Colonel Khadafy. This, ladies and gentlemen, apparently is how democracy works. Well, this is a Democratic movement here. We're told this is the blossoming of democracy here in Libya and this is what happens in a democracy, you put the corpse on the hood of your car and you parade around the capital. (interruption) On the hood of the car he's alive in the first video?
I saw that video yesterday. They hauled him off the back of a pickup truck and then the savagery began. Are you trying to tell me that he's not dead, is that what you're trying to tell me? You're trying to tell me that you're not convinced he's dead yet. And the only reason you're thinking that's because we haven't had the official confirmation from Calypso Louie. Farrakhan has not issued a statement. Now, Hugo Chavez has. Hugo Chavez called him a martyr. Hugo Chavez says its' a bad move. But Calypso Louie has not said anything. The regime, the Obama bunch has told us that this is an outbreak of democracy, so I guess we have to add that to the definitions. You're vanquished, you get put on the hood of a car and paraded around town.

RUSH: Now, this is hilarious. This is from Human Events. "An economic recovery bill authored by Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D.-Conn.) seeks to empower struggling families by directing the federal government to distribute free diapers through daycare centers. The Diaper Investment and Aid to Promote Economic Recovery Act (DIAPER Act)," The acronym is "diaper." I'm not making this up. "would 'relieve some of the stress on families facing hardship in this economy' by providing this direct service, DeLauro said in a letter to congressional colleagues urging them to co-sponsor her bill. Without diapers, children are not allowed to attend daycare, said DeLauro, who described those in need as a 'lost generation of Americans.'"
I'm not pooping you. There's the story. I kid you not. The Diaper Investment and Aid to Promote Economic Recovery Act. "Without diapers," it says here, "children are not allowed to attend daycare, said DeLauro, who described those in need as a 'lost generation of Americans.'" Now, let me tell you something. My generation was not lost, and my generation did not go to daycare, and we wore cloth diapers that were washed and reused. But I mean this is taking indoctrination to steps I never dreamed of. Indoctrinate babies early and often in daycare, and you get 'em in daycare by promising free diapers. It says here in this story "one in five mothers have had to skip an obligation and stay home with their child because of lack of diapers." Now, where did they get this number? This is like there were three million homeless for all those years until there weren't. This is like cell phones are gonna cause brain cancer until we find out that it doesn't. Like coffee was gonna cause heart attacks by age 40, except until we learned that it doesn't.
"One in five mothers have had to skip an obligation to stay home with their child." Can't have that, by the way. Can't have children staying home with their mothers. Why, that would be horrible. Can't have mothers at home with their kids. Why, we need the kids in the daycare center so we can corrupt 'em and pollute 'em and propagandize 'em, indoctrinate 'em. "'One in five mothers have had to skip an obligation and stay home with their child because of lack of diapers,' DeLauro said. 'And losing out on daycare makes it even harder for parents to put in a full day's work.'" Of course, in this instance we're talking about people who might still have a job, which is a dwindling number. "We all believe that nothing we do in government is as important as ensuring the next generation has the tools they need to," poop in, uh, "thrive. But for our children and our nation --" She is saying this. This is Rosa DeLauro.
"'We all believe that nothing we do in government is as important as ensuring the next generation has the tools they need to thrive. But for our children and our nation to succeed, we have to support their development, their families, and the public policies that ensure opportunity. Ensuring that low-income families have access to diapers through the DIAPER Act is one of those policies that will make a difference, and I urge you to become an original co-sponsor,' DeLauro wrote in the Oct. 5 letter. Critics of the bill say it exemplifies the type of cradle-to-grave, nanny-state legislation supported by Democrats. ... While DeLauro's legislation would aid families who have toddlers enrolled in daycare, it does not include free diapers for stay-at-home or unemployed moms who don't use daycare."
So you can only get free diapers if you pack your kid off to government-run health care. I am not, I don't think, making this up.
RUSH: I am not making up the diaper bill, folks. I'm not making up anything I said about it. Free diapers for every mother who has a kid in daycare. If you're a stay-at-home mother or unemployed you and don't use daycare you don't get free diapers. I mean this gives a new meaning to the term pampering the poor. Just absurd. And now here's this. This is from yesterday in the New York Post. "A 30-year-old California man who wears diapers and lives as an 'adult baby' can keep his $800-a- month Social Security disability checks, the agency ruled. Stanley Thornton's infantile lifestyle won him national attention after a National Geographic TV show revealed how he was spoon-fed and clad in baby clothes by his roommate -- prompting Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) to demand a probe of his Supplemental Security Income checks. 'We recently reviewed the evidence in your Social Security disability claim and find that your disability is continuing,' the agency wrote him."
So here we have a guy living as an adult baby, living in diapers, and the Social Security Administration says he continues to qualify for disability payments. He wears diapers, lives as an adult baby, I don't know if he has a job. But look, the Rosa DeLauro bill would not affect him; it would affect his parents. He's already getting the diapers. It's just a little tie-in story.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Williamsburg, Iowa. Hi, Deb, I'm glad you called. You're on Open Line Friday. Welcome.
CALLER: Thank you. I was told to get right to my point so my point is this person who is pursuing the diaper bill, they cannot possibly be a true Democrat because if she was, she would be wanting them not to use disposable diapers but she would be pushing the reusable diapers so she could put more people to work when they wash the diapers.
RUSH: That's an interesting thought, but I can tell you that this is a genuine, full-fledged, undiluted Democrat, Rosa DeLauro --
CALLER: Well, she's deluded if she thinks that people should be forced to pay for some other kid's diapers. If they can't afford the diapers for the kid they shouldn't have one.
RUSH: Really?
CALLER: Yeah.
RUSH: Okay, I agree. But then if we're gonna say that about diapers, why do we not say it about other things, like food?
CALLER: That's a really good question because I do daycare for a living myself, and I think I've got one of the most important jobs in the country because I am raising someone's child to be a better person, and just so you know, every kid at my daycare listens to Rush Limbaugh almost every day.
RUSH: Right on. Right on. I'm happy to hear that. And there's probably more of that going on than anybody would believe. But, really, folks, free diapers? A piece of legislation called the DIAPER Act, taxpayers will give diapers to mothers, but only mothers who send their kids to daycare. This whole thing is absurd. We have a member of Congress who's actually considered this and has written it out and it's real legislation. She's looking for a cosponsor in the midst of the economic destruction we face, in the midst of all the debt and all the spending, in the midst of people rising up against it. Now diapers are an entitlement. Diapers, for crying out loud, and it's being reported by news agencies as seriously as it can be. There's nobody questioning it. There's nobody raising red flags. Nobody thinks it's out of the ordinary or odd except us.
RUSH: I mentioned FactCheck.org in the first half hour of the program running down the numbers on Vice President Bite Me and his claims on rape, and the FactCheck.org story documents that Biden is just lying brazenly, and so are Dick Durbin and anybody else who happens to be supporting Biden in any of this. FactCheck.org: "Joe Biden falsely claimed on multiple occasions that the number of reported rapes in Flint, Mich., has skyrocketed since 2008 -- providing different accounts at different events that do not square with FBI data. He started at a 152 percent increase, and since then has said rapes in Flint have tripled and even 'quadrupled.' But FBI data show the number of rapes in Flint has gone down 11 percent, from 103 in 2008 to 92 in 2010."
And something that's not mentioned and Bite Me doesn't mention is that in Flint, Michigan, they alternately open and close the jail. It's not always open. Sometimes they don't have the money to keep it open, sometimes the townspeople vote to shut it down. There's all kinds of variables. But the number of rapes in Flint, Michigan -- and Biden is clearly saying, we're losing cops, we don't have as many cops on the street as we used to. The rapes are skyrocketing. They're not. It's a total, made-up farce. "Biden also said the city's murder rate has 'tripled.' The city says there were a record-high 66 murders last year -- double, not triple, the 32 murders that occurred in 2008." So while the number of murders have gone up, not nearly as high, or as much as Bite Me says.
"The vice president has been touring the country delivering his pitch for the American Jobs Act, President Barack Obama's $447 billion plan that includes $35 billion to prevent the layoff of police, firefighters and teachers. On Oct. 12, Biden visited Flint, Mich., which has had the highest violent crime rate in the nation for the last two years. The city's violent crime rate has increased from 20.2 violent crimes per 1,000 residents in 2008 to 22.1 in 2010, a jump of about 9 percent, our analysis of FBI reports shows. Crime is bad in Flint, no doubt, but Biden makes it out to be worse than it is.
"Biden, Oct. 18: 'I was up in Flint, Michigan, last week. Their police department's cut more than in half. The murder rate, close to triple. The number of rapes have quadrupled.' A day later, Biden was asked by a reporter for Human Events, a conservative website, if he regretted 'using a rape reference to describe Senate opposition' to the bill. Conservatives, including Rush Limbaugh, have criticized the vice president for suggesting that rape and murder will rise if the Republicans don't pass the jobs bill. Biden replied: 'I said rape was up three times in Flint. Those are the numbers. Go look at the numbers.'
- -
"We have looked at the numbers. We started with the number of reported rapes, because Biden makes three claims that don't add up: that rapes have gone up from 91 to 229 (a 152 percent increase), that rapes have 'quadrupled,' and that rapes have tripled. He's badly wrong on all counts. The FBI's Uniform Crime Reports for those years show that the number of reported rapes declined from 103 in 2008 to 92 in 2010, or a nearly 11 percent drop."
So will we get an apology from Biden and Jay Carney and Obama? FactCheck.org "also calculated the rate of reported rapes per 1,000 residents to account for the city's declining population. Even then, the rate has declined from .91 rapes per 1,000 residents in 2008 to .84 rapes per 1,000, a decline of 8 percent. We asked the vice president's office to explain such a gross discrepancy. It referred us to the Flint mayor's office -- saying the figures came from the city. In response to our questions, Flint Public Safety Director Chief Alvern Lock put out a statement saying the city 'stands behind the crime statistics provided to the Office of The Vice President.'"
So Biden got on the phone to Flint and said, "You're backing me up, nobody messes with me." You know, Moammar Khadafy also had hair plugs. I don't know that there's a connection. They say that cell phone use can cause cancer. What about hair plugs? What percentage of people who died last year had hair plugs? What percentage of people with hair plugs are essentially insane? We know two of them, Bite Me and Moammar Khadafy. Seriously. They're just out there making this stuff up. FactCheck.org finds out.
Fisker in Finland: ABC News Uncovers Another Obama Green Energy Scandal
RUSH: ABC News has a big story here, and it can't get any traction. And the reason it can't get any traction is because Obama and Biden are running around talking about all the new rapes that will take place if the jobs bill doesn't pass. Then we wiped out Khadafy, and then 20 minutes or so ago, Obama announces the end of the Iraq war, that we're pulling all troops out by the end of the year. Now there are reports surfacing that the banks will be the recipients of fresh bailouts. Khadafy's wife is demanding an investigation. So there are all kinds of news stories out there that are keeping a major ABC investigative story from being prominently exposed.
I have that story here. It is by Matthew Mosk, Brian Ross, and Ronnie Greene. I actually have two stories here that dovetail. First from ABC News: "Car Company Gets US Loan, Builds Cars In Finland -- With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work. Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department's $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. But two years after the loan was announced, the company's manufacturing jobs are still limited to the assembly of the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car in Finland."
And there's a 2009 Wall Street Journal story, September 2009, that makes it clear that this was always the plan. It was always the plan that this electric car, financed by the taxpayers, would be built in Finland. So the regime knew this. They knew the cars would be made Finland when they gave Fisker the loan. "'There was no contract manufacturer in the U.S. that could actually produce our vehicle,' the car company's founder and namesake told ABC News. 'They don't exist here.' Henrik Fisker said the US money has been spent on engineering and design work that stayed in the US, not on the 500 manufacturing jobs that went to a rural Finnish firm, Valmet Automotive. 'We're not in the business of failing; we're in the business of winning. So we make the right decision for the business,' Fisker said. 'That's why we went to Finland.'"
Now, this is a company that Algore championed. And remember that it was well known back at the time of the loan, the taxpayer loan to this electric car company, that these cars would be built in Finland and not America. And then there's a story from Forbes yesterday which claims that when you count the true costs of the fossil fuels involved in the manufacturing of the car, everything else, the miles an hour for the Fisker electric car, 19 miles per gallon, is the same as an SUV. But what does an electric car run on? Coal! An electric car is a coal powered car, and they are cars built for rich people. These are not cars for people who are gonna be getting free diapers from Rosa DeLauro. These are status symbol, rich, elite electric cars, sort of along the same lines as the Tesla.
So what do we have here? Yesterday this is a breaking investigative story from ABC News and it can't get any traction because of all the other stuff that's out there: Obama pulling us out of Iraq, Khadafy room temperature, Khadafy's wife demanding an investigation, Biden running around like a chicken with its head cut off saying rapes are gonna increase if the bill's not passed. This is what I meant in the first hour when I said this is so absurd. Biden and these guys do not really believe rapes are going up. They're just saying this and they're doing it to draw attention away from any number of stories. And with Solyndra and all of the misuse of taxpayer money being lent to fraudulent new energy and green energy companies, here's another one, big time, Fisker, which didn't need the money when you get right down to it. The administration knew from the get-go that these cars, which will sell for $89,000 apiece, were going to be made in Finland. Just like George Miller in California, his kid is an executive at a solar firm. SunPower is the name of it and they're gonna be doing their manufacturing in Mexico.
So green energy is nothing more than a giant slush fund. It's nothing more than a campaign contribution vehicle. It's money laundering because the recipients of these loans -- Solyndra, George Miller, a number of other places -- the recipients of these loans are all fundraisers or bundlers for Obama. Well, I better be careful saying all. There might be a couple of them that aren't. But the bottom line here is that the vast majority of people that are getting these green energy loans are people that raised money for Obama or bundled money for Obama and they're being paid back. They're being paid back with money, a portion of which will come back to Obama again in the form of union dues and donations, contributions, what have you.
Wall Street Journal, September 25th, 2009: "A tiny car company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has just gotten a $529 million US government loan to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000. The award this week to California startup Fisker Automotive Inc. follows a $465 million government loan to Tesla Motors Inc." You know who two of the investors in Tesla are? The Google guys. The Google guys don't need a loan. Not a government loan. If they want to go a margin loan on their assets, fine. They don't need a government loan.
And from Forbes magazine from yesterday, this is Warren Meyer. "In the Clinton administration, the Department of Energy (DOE) created a far superior well to wheels MPGe metric the honestly compares the typical fossil fuel use of an electric vs. gasoline car." All you do is "multiply the EPA MPGe by .365 to get a number that truly compares fossil fuel use of an electric car with a traditional gasoline engine car on an apples to apples basis. In the case of the Fisker Karma, we get a true MPGe of 19." So it gets the same miles per gallon that an SUV gets. And the Forbes article makes it clear, this Fisker car is just a status symbol thing. It's 89 grand, it's futuristic looking, it is not a car for the masses. Folks, we're being scammed. This whole green energy thing in Obama's Department of Energy is a giant slush fund, just pure and simple, and of course it's cloaked in this wonderfully well-intentioned policy to save the planet and to save the climate and to stop global warming and to stop pollution and all that. Giant, giant trick. It's every bit the hoax that climate change and manmade global warming are.
Wall Street Protesters are Protesting the Wrong Thing
RUSH: Brian in Nebraska. Great to have you on the program. Hello.
CALLER: Mega corn belt dittos from America's heartland, Rush.
RUSH: Thank you very much, sir.
CALLER: First-time caller, longtime listener.
RUSH: Appreciate you being out there, sir.
CALLER: I consider myself a student of history, Rush, as well as a graduate student of the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. And there's one thing I want to talk about today, it's been bothering me for quite a while, the Occupy Wall Street movement, to me, seems very analogous to the unrest that we saw in the streets of Weimar, Germany in the twenties. The things that they're asking for are the same. The people that they are blaming are the same, and I wanted to get your thoughts on that.
RUSH: Well, I think you could probably go back to a number of different points in history and find commonality or similarity 'cause leftists are leftists, regardless of the era, regardless of the decade, the millennium, century, leftists are leftists. And uneducated, people are uneducated people at whatever point in time that you want to talk about. Intellectually I try to understand this. And that, of course, is very frustrating 'cause a lot of this with these people is emotion. But I don't understand them intellectually. I have nothing in common with them, nothing, other than the frustration and anger over the fact that things aren't working. But their reasons for being mad are as far away from mine as they could be.
See, I think these people are protesting the wrong people. They're protesting the wrong thing just based on what they say they want. Just based on what they say has them angry. Wall Street has not done to them what they think has happened to them. Government has. You know what has really failed most of these people is the education system. That's where they ought to be protesting. If this thing were intellectually honest they would be protesting every college that every one of them went to because that's where they have been failed. That's where they have been misguided, that's where they've been ill- or maleducated or not educated at all. This is where their minds have been propagandized and poisoned. They're blaming the wrong people, first and foremost. They have no sense of personal responsibility or stake in this at all.
The second thing is they're not going to get anything that they want going about it the way they're going about it. So intellectually I have no way to relate to it. Intellectually I have nothing whatsoever, not a smidgen in common with them. But one important thing about your asking about the Weimar Republic, it was a republic. The people in the streets were protesting a republic, and they wanted a different system. They hated representative government back in the twenties, the people you're asking me about. They were not protesting oppression. They were protesting freedom, essentially. And I actually think that there's an element of that in this group. They wouldn't understand it. They think that what they're about is total freedom, when it's not.
These people are begging to be controlled. These people are begging for everybody to be controlled. They're begging for everybody to lose as much economic freedom as can be taken away from them while they think that they're demanding and protesting for just the exact opposite. But the people in the streets in Germany blamed Wall Street bankers. That's why you think there's similarities, and you're right, there are. And to that extent history repeats. It's also clear we don't learn from it.
RUSH: Michael, my adopted hometown of Sacramento, welcome to the program. Hi.
CALLER: Huh. How's it going, Rush?
RUSH: Good. Thank you, sir.
CALLER: I just wanted to comment on the fact that, you know, this whole Occupy Wall Street thing, they're pretty much delusional and their pursuits of what they're looking for. I mean what they want is they want a form of communism where essentially the ideal is that people voluntarily give up their wealth, because it's for the good of the people.
RUSH: Yeah.
CALLER: But you can't mandate that via government instrument. It's never gonna work out. They've already tried it, you know, in Russia, they tried it in China, it's not gonna work.
RUSH: That doesn't matter to them.
CALLER: Exactly. Exactly. See, they're completely shortsighted. They don't understand the implications of what they're doing. They're actually just making a ruckus and it's hurting businesses around them, and, again, it's not helping towards the cause. The cause is that people voluntarily, you know, give up their wealth and give it to the good of the people or whatever, but that's not gonna work.
RUSH: No, but I also don't think that some of them would just be satisfied for wealthy people to voluntarily give it up. I think some of these people are all for violence to take it away from them, I don't know how many. AP has a poll out, AP-GfK, 37% of the public back the protests. Most Americans say that the protests are making 'em mad. So you Democrats, you go ahead, you own it, you latch onto it and you tell us it's you and they're yours and you support it, because it's a minority movement. I don't even believe the 37%, I don't believe that.
Democrats Have Contempt for Average People
RUSH: Summit, New Jersey. Hi, Jeff, I'm glad you waited. You're next on the EIB Network. Hello, sir.
CALLER: Thanks for taking my call, Rush. First let me say that regardless what happens in 2012 we are forever in your debt for everything that you do.
RUSH: I appreciate that. Very kind of you to say.
CALLER: Well, you know, since Obama's been in office and even before there's been a lot of talk about liberty and freedom and individual rights, and I think nothing gets my blood boiling more than when I hear Michelle Obama talk about how she wants to raise my children, what kind of a person she wants to turn my children into. You know, the left advocates so vociferously for all kinds of privacy rights and liberty rights when it comes to things like a woman's body and abortion or what people want to do in bedroom whether it's in groups or with animals, but where is my sacrosanct privacy right to teach my children the things I want to teach them, everything from morality to religion to nutrition. You know, I have to say I was just cleaning out my home office a little a while ago --
RUSH: It ranks about as high as your ability to spend your own money. They know better than you do on how to do that, too.
CALLER: I find that so offensive because I don't like the kind of people that they've turned out to be. They are the last people that I want --
RUSH: Amen! That is the best way to put this I've heard in a long time. What is it that recommends them to be mentors? Just who the hell are they? What gives them the right, what claim do they have on taking young skulls full of mush and bending them and molding them into whatever they think they ought to be?
CALLER: Well, in this day and age of everybody being so easily offended, certainly with political correctness and the left and their special interest groups, I am thoroughly offended by all of their positions, all of their policies, all of their beliefs, and all of their actions and inactions. I do not want them as role models for my kids. I'm not saying that I'm perfect, nor is my wife perfect, but, I'll tell you what, we know a heck of a lot better than they do for our children.
RUSH: Exactly. It's none of their business anyway. This is a lesson. This is the way of tyrants; this is the way of authoritarians. This is why they want power, total control. But you're exactly right, just who is Michelle Obama anyway? What are her qualifications to know better than anybody else what to feed people, for example? Or how to dress them or how to teach them? "She is the first lady of the United States, Mr. Limbaugh. That's why." Really? What does that convey? What qualification did she have to have in order to become first lady? She married to the guy that won the election. So that qualifies her to know better than anybody else what kids ought to eat and what kids ought to learn? And what people should be allowed to say? Yeah, I think you're right, I think exactly right and I love the way you say it. Thanks el mucho, Jeff.
Cincinnati. Tony, nice to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.
CALLER: Thank you for taking my call, Rush.
RUSH: Appreciate it, sir.
CALLER: I wanted to make a comment about Vice President Biden and his comments about the ensuing crime wave that's gonna be coming if they don't get this bill passed. You know, for the last four years I've listened to these people, and I'm a truck driver, I listen to you every day, and I find myself randomly yelling at the radio, not at you but at these comments that I hear. These people must think that we are, as the American public, just completely covered up as idiots, because these comments they make, number one, they make no sense. They're just throwing stuff out there because they're bullies, Rush, that's what they are, they're bullies. They want their way, they're gonna have it, and they're gonna intimidate, they're gonna try the scare tactics and everything else. You know, if Vice President Biden is so worried about this crime wave and making sure we have enough police officers to, in his words, deter crime, then why is he not talking about the criminal that the police officer catches, what's he gonna do with him? I mean if it's such a major thing that we get this thing passed and --
RUSH: Well, you're illustrating again -- you think Biden actually believes this stuff when he says it?
CALLER: Oh, absolutely, he wouldn't say it if he didn't, and that's the really sad part about it. That guy is in control of some of the major parts of our country, and it's scary, it's actually very scary.
RUSH: Well, it's scary, but do you think that Biden actually believes that $35 billion to be authorized by Friday to be spent will reduce rape and robbery?
CALLER: I don't believe that for a minute. As a matter of fact I think it's all about the power struggle and just them making sure that they get --
RUSH: You hit the nail on the head with your first comment. They think we're stupid. They have an arrogant contempt for average people. They have a genuine condescension toward average people. We're not smart enough to make the right decisions, to lead lives responsibly as they define it and so forth, and that is what permits them to make stupid statements like this, they think we'll believe it.
RUSH: No, no, no, no, no, nod. I don't have a cold. I was up late last night consuming adult beverages, and it was my turn for potty training the new puppy. Our third sheepdog, Cambridge -- you know, I ought to upload a couple pictures. This is the cutest little puppy. Last night was my turn. The puppy doesn't go longer than two hours, and this house training stuff, housebreaking stuff, it's a serious proposition. You can't take that and be lackadaisical about it, and I take it very seriously. Anything I do I take very serious. So it was my turn, so I just combined the late night consumption of adult beverages with housebreaking the puppy, and I feel great, a little giddy, but no, I don't have a cold.
Now, this is an interesting point made by the caller. Biden says these things, and, by the way, these are not haphazard. This is strategerized and based on the first reaction he got in Flint they're doubling down on it. For some reason they think this is working. For some reason they think this is going to have impact and they know that people are very much worried about crime, and if they portray themselves as fighters of crime it might benefit them. The left, the Democrat Party is notoriously known for being weak on crime. I mean these are the people that spend their whole lives trying to get people out of jail. These are the people trying to make sure terrorists don't go to jail. These are the people that tell us terrorists should be read their Miranda rights on the battlefield.
Now, I don't know about you, but I haven't heard that anybody read Khadafy his Miranda rights before he was savagely slaughtered, so they're hypocrites to boot. He's out there saying, yeah, we need $35 billion by Friday, otherwise your daughter might get raped. They're trying to personalize it, more rapes, more crime, more robbery and so forth. So it has to be they think the vast majority of American people are just plain idiots. So this is strategerize. There is a level of contempt and condescension the left has for average people, and it's interesting because they position themselves as being the champions of average people. They're the ones looking out for you. They're the ones that have compassion and concern. They're the ones that are gonna make sure you go into debt 50 grand to go to school. They're gonna make sure all these wonderful things happen to you.
You know Biden's real concern, Joe Biden and any Democrat's real concern is that after the rapist gets caught he can still vote Democrat. After the bank robber gets caught, he votes Democrat. That's their primary concern. Now, you listen to them go on and on and on this way, folks, they are a minority in this country. The left, liberals, people who live and breathe a far-leftist existence are a minority. Two, three times as many people identify themselves as conservatives. Next, independents, and last, liberals. They're nowhere near the majority, but they believe they are, and that's what I think animates this arrogance and condescension that allows them to insult everybody's intelligence with this stuff. (interruption) No, I would not trust Biden to housebreak a puppy.
I have a friend from Delaware. Yes, just one. I have a friend from Delaware, and this man has owned businesses before. Delaware's a small state, and he's known Biden for all of Biden's political career. He knows Biden on a level differently than those of us who don't live in Delaware know him. If you're in business in Delaware, Biden and other elected officials, you have to be on their side if your business is gonna be left alone. If you need any help from government, you gotta befriend 'em and my friend has always thought all these years that Biden's a smart guy, "Look at the way he chairs the Judiciary Committee, this man is brilliant." And I've talked to him, I have been incredulous over the years listening to this guy tell me what he thinks of Biden because it's the exact opposite what I think.
I think Joe Biden is the walking definition of stupid. I don't care how educated he is. This is plain stupid to say this kind of stuff. I don't care if it's purposely strategerized or not, it's just stupid. And he makes these off-the-cuff wild comments, 7-Eleven jokes, you have to be Indian to go inside and order, be able to understand what the people on the other side of the aisle and the counter are saying. "That's very harsh, Mr. Limbaugh, to call the vice president of the United States stupid." Well, give me a better word, then. Dumb? What is it? Challenged? We're not talking Einstein here. I mean to look at a guy in a wheelchair in St. Louis, "Hey, Chuck, stand up, oh, my gosh, God love you, God bless you, oh, gee, let's all stand up for Chuck." The gaffes are never ending.
