Too much happened this week! Enjoy...

The cartoons mostly come from:

www.townhall.com/funnies.

If you receive this and you hate it and you don’t want to ever read it no matter what...that is fine; email me back and you will be deleted from my list.

Previous issues are listed and can be accessed here:

http://kukis.org/page20.html (their contents are described and each issue is linked to) or here:

http://kukis.org/blog/ (this is the online directory they are in)

I attempt to post a new issue each Sunday by 5 or 6 pm central standard time (I sometimes fail at this attempt).

I try to include factual material only, along with my opinions (it should be clear which is which). I make an attempt to include as much of this week’s news as I possibly can. The first set of columns are intentionally designed for a quick read.

I do not accept any advertising nor do I charge for this publication. I write this principally to blow off steam in a nation where its people seemed have collectively lost their minds.

And if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, always remember: We do not struggle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12). If you do not believe in Jesus Christ, let me encourage you to do so: Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no man comes to the Father but through Me.” “Believe in Me and you will have eternal life. Believe not, and the wrath of God will abide on you.” (John 14:6 3:16).

This Week’s Events

photoid.jpg

Obama administration blocks the Texas voter I.D. law.

In a very tight 3-way race, Rick Santorum wins Alabama and Mississippi. However, in ignored news is, Mitt Romney, that day, made off with most of the delegates.

Chaos broke out in Missouri between Ron Paul supporters and others. You know, I’d think I’d be in favor of raising the voting age to 35 now.

Rand Paul has a 5 year plan to balance the budget. The Mack-Penny Plan to balance the budget in 5 or 6 years has been out there for a year now. Mitt Romney has promised to balance the budget in 10 years (which is not much of a promise, in my opinion). Who is going to stand by one of the first budgets? There is talk of getting all Republicans on board for this 5 year plan.

In other political news, former KKK member and also a white supremacist were both running in North Carolina on the Democrat ticket.

There is a bill being discussed in Congress about, no budget means no pay for Congressmen; a great idea (I think I suggested it at one time); but it won’t go anywhere.

You probably do not recall this, but Senator Ted Stevens of Texas was prosecuted and convicted for lying on his financial disclosure forms right before his big election. He was defeated by a Democrat, which was the 60th vote needed for healthcare reform. Turns out that the original lawyer who was supposed to render a decision on this said that there was nothing which rose to the legal level of criminal contempt. There was also, apparently, exculpatory evidence that would have cleared Steven’s name in this trial was well, known to the prosecutor but not revealed to Stevens’ lawyers. As someone else has pointed out, this is not a matter of left or right, as this is not Eric Holder’s doing. This was prosecutorial misconduct which changed the election and therefore, changed history.

Cee Lo Green sings the actual words to “Forget You” (“F__k You”) at an Obama fundraiser. He gave the finger to the audience, but, part way through the song, returned to the PG lyrics. This is not because he is making a statement in opposition to Barack Obama, but he did it, apparently, because Obama is so cool and casual.

Speaking of celebs, Oprah cancelled Rosie O’Donnell’s show. Rosie is still unsure about who exactly executed the 9/11 attacks; it might have been George Bush. He might do something like that so he could go to war against Iraq. Yeah, she’s not crazy. No idea why no one watched her show.

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich went to the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood to begin serving a 14-year sentence for corruption.

The Heritage foundation has found that 80% of green energy loans went to Obama donors

The Obama administration, continuing its war on women, made it official its threat to cease providing funding for a women's health program in Texas that serves low-income women because the state passed a law saying the program can't fund Planned Parenthood.

President Obama issues executive order giving him control over all U.S. resources in times of emergency or war.

The Department of Health and Human Services has issued a final rule regarding establishment of

the state health care exchanges required under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Nestled within the "individual mandate" in the Obamacare act - that portion of the Act requiring every American to purchase government - approved insurance or pay a penalty - is an "abortion premium mandate." This mandate requires all persons enrolled in insurance plans that include elective abortion coverage to pay a separate premium from their own pockets to fund abortion. As a result, many pro-life Americans will have to decide between a plan that violates their consciences by funding abortion, or a plan that may not meet their health needs.

The Congressional Budget Office reported this week that President Barack Obama's tax and spending policies will yield $6.4 trillion in deficits over the next decade, more than double the shortfall in CBO's own fiscal baseline - even after taking credit for reduced war costs.

CBO has just determined that Obamacare will cost taxpayers $1.76 trillion over 10 years.

The President appears to be lining up a cameo appearance in one of his favorite shows, Entourage.

Potential jurors reporting for jury duty in the D.C. Superior Court building have of late been passing a photo exhibit celebrating renowned black women in a series of posters, each featuring portraits of trailblazers exemplifying greatness in their respective fields. Included among the posters, hung for Black History Month on the walls outside the jurors' lounge, is one of Angela Davis, a black activist who came to prominence in the 1960s as a leader of the Communist Party U.S.A. and the radical black group the Black Panther Party. Ms. Davis was also awarded the so-called "Lenin Peace Prize," given to her in a Moscow ceremony by Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev himself. Ms. Davis, too, was the second black woman to make the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. She earned that distinction as a fugitive wanted on murder and kidnapping charges stemming from her role in a notorious attack on a courtroom in Marin County in California.

President Obama suggests that we compare his brackets to ours, and to send him money as well.

marchmadness.jpg

David Axelrod will not be appearing as a guest on "Real Time with Bill Maher," despite reports last week that he was scheduled to do the show in the next few weeks. Axelrod and others on the Obama team excoriated Rush Limbaugh for remarks that he made about Sandra Fluke. However, it turns out the Bill Maher made much more vicious remarks about Sarah Palin and other conservative women. The optics here are not what the president expected; half of Obama’s Super PAC money came from Bill Maher.

The President and First Lady Obama gave UK Prime Minister and Mrs. Cameron a one-of-a-kind Braten 1000 Series Grill. I am fairly certain that it is still legal to have an outdoor bbq in Great Britain, although I have heard of these being banned in some European countries. However, I haven’t heard anything lately, so maybe the European population rose in revolt?

According to Real Science, there has not been any global warming for 17 years.

Meanwhile, global warming enthusiasts scientists are discussing bioengineering humans to deal with global warming. That’s not crazy. That’s science.

Two weeks ago, the Obama Administration sought to increase the Chevrolet Volt purchaser tax credit from $7,500 to $10,000. Now, the Department of Energy has been allocated $4.4 million dollars for programs to prevent fire fighters from electrocuting themselves while trying to rescue crash victims from Chevy Volts.

President Obama has set up a task force to look into oil price speculation. And once they solve that problem, perhaps another debt commission.

The Occupy Wall Street crowd is out again, in force and many were arrested. It’s Spring.

Not too much of a surprise: Media Matters operative behind Rush Limbaugh `advertiser boycott'

We found out this week that Osama bin Laden had a plot to kill President Obama, because he figured that Vice President Biden would be totally unprepared to become the president.

Sudan's Islamic government gives Christians 30 days to leave or be treated as foreigners (I think the treatment will be much worse). Imagine having not even a tenth of the money that you have right now and being told, you have 30 days to relocate to another country.

Pakistani man Aseem Ahmed, a father of three, age 42, was sentenced for life for burning a Quran.

Iran jails a dozen Christians.

Several thousand men and women demonstrated outside the Tunisian parliament to demand the inclusion of Islamic law its country's future constitution.

The lower house of the Egyptian parliament has unanimously approved a text declaring that Israel is the number one enemy of Egypt and calling for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador and a halt to gas exports to Israel.

At the end of March, there will be a global “March to Jerusalem” with the intent of gathering one million Arabs to infiltrate Israel with the demands "freedom for Palestine, Jerusalem." Arabs marching toward Jerusalem? What could go wrong. An event endorsed by Obama’s former pastor, Jeremy Wright, a man who loves all people, unless they were white conservatives or Jewish.

The 7th American soldier was killed by a supposed ally in Afghanistan.

The Afghan Taliban has suspended preliminary peace talks with the United States.

Say What?

Liberals:

President Barack Obama: "So do not tell me that we're not drilling. We're drilling all over this country. There are a few spots we're not drilling. We're not drilling in the national mall. We're not drilling at your house."

President Obama: "(W)e have made progress, with imports of foreign oil decreasing by a million barrels a day in the last year alone. Our focus on increased domestic oil and gas production, currently at an eight year high, combined with the historic fuel economy standards we put in place, means that we will continue to reduce our nation's vulnerability to the ups and downs of the global oil market."

obamaecon.jpg

President Barack Obama on Republican energy proposals "Lately, we've heard a lot of professional politicians talking down these new sources of energy. They dismiss wind power and solar power. They make jokes about biofuels and electric cars. They were against raising fuel standards because apparently they like gas guzzling cars better. We're trying to move towards the future, and they want to keep us stuck in the past. Of course, we've heard this kind of thinking before. If some of these folks were around when Columbus set sail, they must have been founding members of the Flat Earth Society. They would not have believed that the world was round." The ancient Greeks not only knew that the world was round, but they knew the circumference. I am unclear as to what middle ages Spaniards thought, but I don’t think they believed the world to be flat. However, several things I do know: oil is the fuel of today; algae is not; increasing our tire inflation will not be a sufficient substitute for drilling; and, whereas developing new resources for energy is a good thing, Obama using this excuse to give money to his donors is not.

President Barack Obama: "The biggest driver of these high gas prices is speculation about possible war in the Middle East, which is why we've been trying to reduce some of the loose talk about war there."

President Obama: "Change is the decisions we made to stop waiting for a Congress to do something about our oil addiction and finally raised fuel efficiency standards on our cars and on our trucks so that by next decade we will be driving American made cars that get 55 miles per gallon." Or, GM (government-mandated) cars that catch on fire, drive about 40 miles on a battery charge, and the government pays you $10,000 to buy one, and still cannot sell enough of them to continue production.

President Obama in his weekly address: “Hi, everybody. As I'm sure you've noticed over the past few weeks, the price at your local pump has been going up and up. And because it's an election year, so has the temperature of our political rhetoric. What matters most to me right now is the impact that rising prices have on you...It's easy to promise a quick fix when it comes to gas prices. There just isn't one. Anyone who tells you otherwise - any career politician who promises some three-point plan for two-dollar gas - they're not looking for a solution...But we can't just rely on drilling. Not when we use more than 20 percent of the world's oil, but still only have 2 percent of the world's known oil reserves...But what we can't do is keep being dependent on other countries for our energy needs.” He also explains all of the reasons for the price being so high. Unrest in the middle east, oil speculators, and, of course, so-called government subsidies to big oil. And, again, he claims his raising of the fuel standards will be the key. Inflation, the rapidly falling dollar, and limited production in the United States; those didn’t really enter into his address.

obamajobs.jpg

The President seems to think he is more like Lincoln than any of the Republican candidates: "[Lincoln] understood that we are a people that take great pride in our self-reliance and our independence but that we are also one nation and one people, and that we rise or fall together. So I hope that while my counterparts on the other side enjoy the outstanding hospitality of the people of Illinois and spend some money here to promote our economy, I hope they also take a little bit of time to reflect on this great man, the first Republican President."

President Obama on Oprah: "And she has continued to be just - not just a friend, but somebody who Michelle and I seek out in thinking about not just the day to day issues of the day but trying to keep our focus on the big picture.”

President Obama: "It gets you a little nervous about what is happening to global temperatures. When it is 75 degrees in Chicago in the beginning of March, you start thinking. On the other hand, I really have enjoyed nice weather."

Obama, who usually only rips Bush: "One of my predecessors, President Rutherford B. Hayes, reportedly said about the telephone: `It's a great invention but who would ever want to use one?' That's why he's not on Mt. Rushmore. He's looking backwards, he's not looking forward. He's explaining why we can't do something instead of why we can do something. The point is there will always be cynics and naysayers." Hayes thought the telephone was a great invention.

President Obama, when asked about waging a "war on religion": "I find this very puzzling, because my first job, my first real job out of college, was working with churches in low-income communities, trying to make sure that the social gospel was made real, that people were getting help." The social gospel is what “Christians” preach when they do not understand the gospel of the Bible (that Jesus Christ died for our sins).

Joe Biden: "Simply stated, we're about promoting the private sector. They're about protecting the privileged sector. We are for a fair shot and a fair shake; they're about no rules, no risks and no accountability. If you give any one of these guys the keys to the White House, they will bankrupt the middle class again."

White House press secretary Jay Carney, when asked about the amount of time the President spends fund raising and campaigning: "I still maintain that the president is still spending a vast preponderance of his time on his official duties. As is everyone who works here." The president has gone to over 100 fund-raising events, which is pretty much double what any other previous president has done in the same mount of time.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney regarding the Obama movie to the press: "I thought it was superb. I'll probably watch it many times. I hope you will, too."

Vice President Joe Biden of Obama choosing to okay the mission to kill Osama bin Laden: "This guy's got a backbone like a ramrod."

peepsgeorgiawavingtoobama.jpg

British Prime Minister David Cameron: "Barack understands that the means matter every bit as much as the ends. Yes, America must do the right thing but to provide moral leadership America must do it in the right way too. The first president I studied in school was Theodore Roosevelt. He talked of speaking softly and carrying a big stick. That is Barack's approach, and in following it he has pressed the reset button on the moral authority of the entire free world."

Former FBI most wanted Bill Ayers: "I think the people who practice white supremacy and who benefit from it are going to have to be stopped. And I think that's a huge undertaking and I think it takes a revolution."

HHS secretary Kathleen Sebelius, answering a question to a middle school audience, after showing a Cartoon Network film not to call call people names like "stupid," "fat," and “jerk”: "I think, very important, is for kids to understand how powerful you really are. You might feel like you're not big enough, not strong enough, not--don't have enough tools. But just saying, `Stop it! You know, you're being a jerk!'--walk away, get away from this person can make a huge amount of difference."

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, of a new CBS News and New York Times survey finding that 80% of Americans are not better off financially than they were four years ago: "I'm not much of a pollster guy...I think this poll is so meaningless. It is trying to give the American people an idea of what 300 million people feel by testing several hundred people. I think the poll is flawed in so many different ways including a way that questions were asked. I don't believe in polls generally and specifically not in this one." Unless he agrees with the poll; then he believes in it.

AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka of President Obama: "With our endorsement today, we affirm our faith in him - and pledge to work with him through the election and his second term to restore fairness, security and shared prosperity."

Georgian Obama fans wave to him.

Ed Schultz: "The root of this problem [saying that Obama is a Muslim] is at the doorstep of the McCain campaign from 2008. You don't have to look any farther than the recent HBO movie 'Game Change' which premiered over the weekend to see how this whole fire started to rage." It was the Hillary campaign which circulated the photo of Obama in Muslim garb. At no time, did the McCain campaign attack Obama for religious reasons or suggest that he was a Muslim. Even Reverend Wright was declared off limits.

Rahm Emanuel, when asked about Bill Maher’s vicious comments, which people found as insulting as Limbaugh's: "I thought what Rush Limbaugh said was . . . absolutely not only wrong, it was absolutely repulsive...if you can't stand up to Rush, how are you going to stand up to Russia?”

saywhatpelosi.gif

Rep. Shelley Berkley: "This has nothing to do with the First Amendment. I am merely asking Clear Channel to make a business decision to get somebody who uses and abuses the public airwaves off the airwaves. Obviously, 141 sponsors of his show agree with me, as do 30,000 people who have gone online and signed my petition. I am not hanging alone out here....There's a big difference between what is being said by Bill Maher and his humor, although I don't find that funny, and what Rush Limbaugh does, who pretty much calls the shots in the Republican Party."

Bill Press on his radio show: "Boy, this has me really burned up. There is a war on women going on. It's a war on women that's being conducted by Republicans in the House, you expect that. By Republicans in the Senate, you expect that. But, it's also being led by the Catholic bishops of this country, which is outrageous and which is wrong. Well you might say of course the Catholic Bishops are part of the war on women, you know they won't allow women to become priests in the Catholic Church. They won't allow Priests to get married because there's something wrong with living with a woman, or having sex with a woman. I mean they've got this anti-woman thing built into them."

repubwaronwomen.jpg

Kelly Ward, DCCC Political Director, seeking money via email: “Republicans aren't backing down from their War on Women crusade...Republicans in Congress have already tried to give your boss the power to deny women access to birth control coverage. How much worse can the Republican War on Women get? We're launching an urgent grassroots campaign against War on Women Republicans while they are back home in their districts this week. We've set a goal of raising $100,000 by tomorrow night to launch targeted advertising against anti-women Republicans...Let's make Republicans regret they ever launched a War on Women.”

Jessica DelBalzo, an activist writer from Flemington, New Jersey: "I love abortion. I don't accept it. I don't view it as a necessary evil. I embrace it. I donate to abortion funds. I write about how important it is to make sure that every woman has access to safe, legal abortion services. I have bumper stickers and buttons and t-shirts proclaiming my support for reproductive freedom. I love abortion."

Energy Secretary Stephen Chu: “Well, first, [top Obama bundler] Steve Spinner was absolutely firewalled from making any decision or encouragement on what make for any loan, let alone the Solyndra loan. What he was pressing for was, after the conditional commitment was made, he was pressing to finalize things. But he was not part of the decision-making process.”

Stephen Chu, on previous remarks where he wanted our gas prices to go up: "I no longer share that view."

Sen. Al Franken: "When I hear about the $50 light bulbs and the award given for that technology, I think of what laptops were when the first laptop came out. I mean, essentially we're talking about mainframes - what the cost of a main frame - between now everybody who can get a laptop gets a laptop." Except that mainframe computers and their evolution to laptops was not partially funded by taxpayers.

govtaffordable.jpg

It’s all about racism:

David A. Wilson, executive editor of the NBC-owned black "news" website TheGrio.com:: “How can we expect and how can we be the country that is as the Republicans like to say, you know, the great shining city on the hill? And we have people who are saying all sorts of things about our President, a President that by most accounts, most accounts across the world, people are pretty proud of that he is the first African-American president. Yet, you know, the media on the right goes after him because of his race. What does that say about America to the international community? About - we're supposed to be the ones who lead on matters of tolerance and matters of, you know, race relations, supposedly, and yet we have a huge portion of our media that goes after the president for his race.”

Al Sharpton: “And does it - goes after him due to his race - but goes after it unchecked.”

Karen Finney a Democrat strategerist on MSNBC, tried to explain how Santorum won Alabama and Mississippi, given his (so-called) “anti-woman” stance: “Well... This woman vote really hurts me, I gotta say. (snickering) It's a little painful 'cause I'm wondering if those women really heard the full message that: Yes, there is the economy, but if you've gotta worry about your basic health care, how are you then gonna be able to do what you need to do in terms of having a job, paying your rent, taking care of your kids. You know, I'm stunned. Uh, the only explanation that I can come up with is -- and I think this would be a question I'd want to go back and ask these women. For these women: Did race -- or... or, in other words, "conservative values;" that's the code, right? -- trump gender? You know, it's still a very conservative state. The racial issues are alive and well in Alabama and Mississippi. Remember those polls that we saw where large percentage don't believe in interracial marriage and think the president is a "Mooslem." So clearly there is some sort of racial stuff in there, and I wonder if that -- ultimately for white working women -- trumps their own gender.”

The Compliant Obama Press Corps:

Politico editor John Harris, when it comes to poll results that they do not like: “Well it was a story that I encouraged to be, uh, written. A lot of times stories generate, uh, from, uh, people's, uh, rants, uh, editors' rants, my rants, your rants...Alex Burns wrote up one of my rants which was looking at some of these polling numbers that have been out recently. You've mentioned them already at different times on the show already, Jim, the results from Mississippi showing a majority of Republicans think that President Obama might be Muslim. Well it's not true, that's just wrong. Some of the concern about how come he doesn't do something about gas prices. Well the president can't really control gas prices in a complicated global market. To me, some of these poll results just seem stupid. So I asked Alex Burns to, said, why don't you do a piece that looks at the question of whether voters are stupid and a lot of the things that they say in these polls are just plain stupid and Alex warmed to the assignment and he wrote this. He actually found a number of sources from pollsters who say yeah, that's the first thing you learn as a pollster, voters are stupid. They didn't mean that literally, they meant that often they're expressing their opinions in a context of ignorance, they don't really understand the issues although they're happy to pop off if a pollster invites them to. So you do get some results that seem stupid even if the voters themselves aren't actually stupid...we did get a picture of Forrest Gump to accompany the story, Forrest Gump in this case representing the sort of ignorant voters out there who are saying these wacky things in polls.”

Washington Post’s Richard Cohen: “At some point while watching HBO's absolutely smashing (and terrifying) movie "Game Change," it occurred to me that Sarah Palin has ruined America.” And then he goes to disparage Sarah Palin based upon the content of this HBO docu-drama.

FoxNews liberal pundit Susan Ochs, of states: “Everybody’s raising taxes now.”

Obama Sycophants after seeing his movie:

For the last 4 years, I walked around Seattle and? every day, saw somebody with a picture of Obama with a Hitler mustache or Joker makeup.

This docu finally puts into perspective the longterm good that his "bad choices" seemed at first has really done for the better.

I turned 19 last month and make no mistake, I would have voted for this man 4 years back if I was older, I intend to keep him in office in November now.

We're are a very lucky country that this man is in charge. FOUR MORE YEARS!!!!

The Road We’ve Traveled (the Obama film)

Liberal Celebrities:

saywhatceleb.jpg

Tom Hanks of Obama, in the Obama move: “He would not dwell in blame or in dreamy idealism.” From a few months ago, this is a partial list of things that Obama blames for problems during his administration. Not to worry, one person he does not blame is...Obama.

Hollywood producer and Obama bundler Harvey Weinstein: "I'm so thrilled he's running for reelection, he's done a fantastic job, and he's the most underestimated president I've seen. He's too humble, and his accomplishments far outweigh his esteem, but people will learn that in time."

Tom Hanks in the Obama film: "Not since the days of Franklin Roosevelt had so much fallen on the shoulders of one president."

Woody Harrelson, who played John McCain in Game Change: "The s__t those people [Republicans] say just makes me weep for humanity!"

Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep introducing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton:"We've all spent a lot of time thinking about Hillary Clinton because - poor girl - she represents us, Hillary is us and we are Hillary."

Rosie O'Donnell, filling-in for Piers Morgan: "What has happened, that we are fighting again for reproductive rights?"

Angelica Huston: "And how did guys, get to be the ones to solely discuss it? It's absolutely astonishing to me, it's the Dark Ages."

Businessman, Virgin Group CEO and reality TV person Richard Branson to the president at a White House dinner: "I asked him if I could have a spiff, but they didn't have any."

Liberals from the past:

Before Stephen Chu became energy secretary: "Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe." The idea is to reduce the demand for gas here in the United States.

Candidate Obama: from 2008: “Not only do we have to invest in mass transit, but we have also have to make sure that, we also have to make sure that people are making good decisions about cars. And their freedom--people are, you know, people are free to buy a [Chevrolet] Suburban if you want, it gets 8 miles a gallon but we can't subsidize to make sure that you have--you are able to fill up your Suburban tank at a really cheap rate because that's not the trajectory of oil prices worldwide.”

Candidate Obama: from 2008: “...under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

carbonfootprint.jpg

Senator Obama of Congressman Danny Davis: "He is one on the greatest congressmen in the country...he shares our values." Congressman Davis, was recently the keynote speaker at a Communist Party of the USA.

Rev. Jeremy Wright: "Them Jews aren't going to let him [Obama] talk to me. I told my baby daughter, that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office."

Liberal civility:

Million dollar Obama donor Bill Maher tweet: "If Gingrich Was Any More of an A__e Santorum Would Have to Pray For The Strength Not to F__k Him" All of the words were spelled out, of course.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: "Speaking of prostitutes, big oil's top call girl Sen Inhofe wants to kill fuel economy backed by automakers, small biz, enviros, & consumers." He also accused Inhofe of treason for feeding our “addiction to oil” because it funds terrorism.

Rev. Jesse Jackson: "America is a liberal idea. How can you have in our country that is based upon liberality and liberation, be so anti-liberal. That's toxic waste to our consciousness. It's hard to be an American conservative because that's a contradiction in terms. Now if you take away freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of protest, and lock people out based upon their race, their language and their religion, that's conservative and fascist.”

Stephanie Miller from her radio show: “Yeah I think the President got off a good one the other day didn't he when he was talking he said `if some of these folks were around when Columbus set sail they must have been founding members of the flat earth society. They wouldn't have believed the world was round' Ah just in relation to the whole energy debate, correct?”

Rep. Adam Schiff: “Exactly, they would have been talking about the alleged round earth theory.”

Jim Ward, Miller’s side-kick: “I think they should test the alleged laws of gravity by jumping out of a plane without a parachute.”

Muslims and Muslim supporters:

Adam Gadahn, a U.S.-born media adviser for Al-Qaeda, about which U.S. media outlets would be best for a bin Laden anniversary video: "It should be sent for example to ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN and maybe PBS and VOA. As for Fox News let her die in her anger...From a professional point of view, they are all on one level - except (Fox News) channel, which falls into the abyss as you know, and lacks objectivity, too." More proof of how biased FoxNews is.

Germany’s Social Democratic Pary leader Sigmar Gabriel (and candidate for chancellor): "I was just in Hebron. There's a legal vacuum there for Palestinians. This is an apartheid regime, for which there is no justification."

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai: "Our demand is that this process [for U.S. troops to hand over all security responsibilities to Afghanistan by 2013] should be executed sharply and the responsibility should be handed over to to Afghans."

Muslim from the grave:

Osama bin Laden boldly commanded his network to organize special cells in Afghanistan and Pakistan to attack the aircraft of President Barack Obama and Gen. David Petraeus: "The reason for concentrating on them is that Obama is the head of infidelity and killing him automatically will make (Vice President Joe) Biden take over the presidency...Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the U.S. into a crisis. As for Petraeus, he is the man of the hour and killing him would alter the war's path [in Afghanistan.]”

Liberals being honest:

Politico’s Jim Vandehei: “Are reporters biased? There is no doubt that-I've worked at the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and worked here at Politico. If I had to guess, if you put all of the reporters that I've ever worked with on truth serum, most of them vote Democratic.”

NPR reporter Nina Totenberg: “The elite media will then glom onto this person, and everything he has ever done that might be slightly untoward or controversial will come out.”

Leftist Bob Beckel of FoxNews, who ran Walter Mondale’s campaign (as quoted by Cal Thomas): “I managed Walter Mondale to the greatest presidential loss and now I am a political pundit—it’s a great country.” [quoted from memory]

Moderates/Affiliation Unknown:

A transgendered Indonesian man who was Barack Obama's nanny in the late 1960s: "Once he pointed to a picture of (Indonesian) President Sukarno and said `I hope I will grow up to become someone like him'. I am proud that his wish came true. And if the Barry I knew is the same Barry who is America's number-one man, I'm sure he will accept me for the person I am, transgender or not."

Matt Romney, son of Mitt, in Hawaii: "I was glad to come; I had to fight with my brothers to see who would come. I'm not here to talk about President Obama I think he is great. I'm here to talk about my dad and what he would bring to the country."

Patrick Jane (Aussie Simon Baker) in the mentalism, explaining gender differences when it comes to pushes a person’s buttons: "Men are like toasters; women are more like accordions." This is from awhile back, but I misplaced the envelope that I wrote it on.

Moderates who should have not shared their thoughts:

Meghan McCain: “I'm not a lesbian, if that's what you're asking. I'd be the first person to tell the world I was gay. I'm not private about anything. I think you should live how you should live. But I'm strictly dickly. I can't help it. I love sex and I love men.” Too bad she did not use an emoticon of circumspection before sharing.

Crosstalk:

11 year old Sena: “How do you respond to critics who say the government should not be telling people how to eat or to stay active?”

Michelle Obama: “You know, that's absolutely right -- and Let's Move! doesn't do that. Let's Move! is not about having government telling people what to do, because government doesn't have all the answers. I mean, a problem that's this big and affects so many people requires everyone to step up. So we're asking everyone to do their part. Parents have to make some changes at home, but they need the information to be able to make those choices. And they have to have access to affordable foods in their communities -- fresh and healthy foods, right? We need government to do its part, but we need businesses to do their part, as well.”

Rush Limbaugh: “So, there's Mrs. Obama: ‘No, our program doesn't do that! No, no, no. Government doesn't do that. It doesn't tell people what to do. We're asking everybody do their part. Parents have to make some changes at home, but we're not telling people what to do. But parents have to make some changes, and businesses have to make some changes -- and we gotta get good foods in your house. But we're not telling anybody what to do.’ Right. Yeah, right.”

Jake Tapper: Bill, thanks for doing this. I just wanted to make sure that as I cover this debate about appropriate language and such, I'm not excluding any points you think should be made.

Bill Maher: I don't really know all the "points," but as I said on my show last Friday, I'm a pottymouth, not a misogynist.

Tapper: So with all the criticism of Rush Limbaugh for his comments about the Georgetown Law student, conservatives claim that there's a double standard, with President Obama, Democrats and the media far more tolerant of offensive language when wielded by liberal or progressive media figures against conservative women. Is that a fair comparison? You have certainly used offensive words to describe some politicians you don't like.

Maher: I'm a comedian - not just a guy who says he is, like Rush, but someone who - well, you saw me do stand-up last year in D.C. There's a big difference between just saying you're a comedian and going out and getting thousands of people to laugh hard for 90 minutes. And the one I'm compared to most is Carlin, who also had these kind of problems. Edgy is my brand.

Tapper: How do you know when you've gone too far?

Maher: I let the audience be the guide. The bit I did about Palin using the word c-, one of the biggest laughs in my act, I did it all over the country, not one person ever registered disapproval, and believe me, audiences are not afraid to let you know. Because it was a routine where that word came in at just the right moment.

Luke Russert (Tim Russet’s son): “And Bill Maher has had a lot of choice words to say about the Republicans; he specifically went after Sarah Palin with some very crude language that's in the same sort of stratosphere of how Rush Limbaugh went after Sandra Fluke. Do you have any reservations about accepting that $1 million from Bill Maher and will you give it back? A lot of conservatives are calling that.”

Bill Burton, who runs the Obama SuperPAC that Maher donated $1 million to: “I know that Republicans have tried to use this to distract from what Rush Limbaugh said to sexually degrade a woman.”

Hillary Clinton: “Why extremists always focus on women remains a mystery to me. But they all seem to. It doesn't matter what country they're in or what religion they claim. They want to control women. They want to control how we dress, they want to control how we act, they even want to control the decisions we make about our own health and bodies. Yes, it is hard to believe but even here at home we have to stand up for women's rights and reject efforts to marginalize any one of us because America needs to set an example for the entire world. ”

Katie Pavlich: “Women in the United States can vote, have children in wedlock, have children out of wedlock, get married, choose to be single, commit adultery, work, choose not to work, go outside, drive a car, take the bus, show their ankles, go shopping without their husbands, get married when they choose to not when they are forced to, leave their husbands in abusive situations, obtain justice against a rapist, change religions, protest in the street, etc. Women are not oppressed and have rights as human beings in the United States. Having someone else pay for your birth control is not a right and if they refuse to pay for it, they aren't waging a ‘war on women.’ ”

Stephanie Miller: “So what happens in Crackerland this week, as we like to say? We have, what, Alabama and Mississippi coming up tomorrow.”

Papa: “I think Santorum and Gingrich split the yahoos in Alabama and Romney just flat out wins Mississippi.” From WFP

Rep. Kingston"You really think that?" asked.

Sebelius: "I do." What happened to “Let’s Move”?

Jay Carney on the finality of the Obama mandate for religious organizations: "The solution that was reached here . has been reached, and we firmly believe that it achieves the goals that the president set...[Obama] brought the process to a solution here that met his two objectives - to ensure that women across America . were able to get the same preventive services, including contraception services without having to pay for them, and that those who have religious objections . would not have to provide or pay."

On Feb. 10 Obama announced a new regulation that forces religious groups to financially support activities they abhor, but that the government supports. In particular, the president directed religious organizations to provide insurance policies that offer free contraceptives.

A statement by the top-level administrative committee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops: "...government has no place defining religion and religious ministry. If this [regulatory] definition is allowed to stand, it will spread throughout federal law, weakening its healthy tradition of generous respect for religious freedom and diversity [and] is unprecedented in federal law, which has long been generous in protecting the rights of individuals not to act against their religious beliefs or moral convictions."

Just this week we've learned that the CBO now projects the cost of Obamacare at $1.76 trillion, up just a tad from the original $940 billion. And today, in spite of O's solemn pledge that "you can keep your health plan", the CBO reports that up to 20 MILLION Americans could lose their employer-provided coverage. Rush Limbaugh: "There is not a shortage of oil on this planet. There is not a shortage of oil anywhere. Whenever there are shortages, they are contrived and are the result of distribution channels being locked down, shipping lanes being closed, or production being shut down in oil-producing countries."

Rush Limbaugh: "Oil is treated by the American left -- by the Democrat Party, by Democrat politicians -- as some almost evil invention, when it's not. In fact, if you ask me, it's incredible ingenuity to figure out what all we can do with oil and what it has meant to economic growth and prosperity, wealth creation, liberty, freedom. It's amazing what has come from oil in that regard."

Rush Limbaugh: "Do you know what the unemployment rate was in March 13th, 2006? You know what the unemployment rate was then? Take a guess. Come on, you guys! It was 4.7%. The unemployment rate when Wolf Blitzer was celebrating Bush's 'all-time low approval number' was 4.7%, March 13th of 2006. Today the unemployment rate is 8.3%. The economy is in a free-fall disaster."

Rush Limbaugh: "We get some State-Controlled Media polls that look bad for Obama and they run stories, 'Are these polls broken? Are the people in the polls stupid?' They have what they think is the smartest, slickest, most-polished president and politician ever in the history of the country. They have total propaganda control over the media, and in their minds that means they have total control over what America thinks."

Rush Limbaugh, on his new Twitter account: "I'm not gonna be hanging on Twitter 15 hours a day and tweeting: 'Just had breakfast, hope you have a wonderful day. Here's a picture of me eating some corn flakes.' None of that stuff."

Rush Limbaugh: "What Obama advertised was a knowing falsehood. What Obamacare and every proponent said about this was knowingly false. They knew it was going to cost more than $940 billion. They knew it because they had to delay the spending by four years to get it under a trillion dollars. They knew!"

obamacarecost.jpg

Rush Limbaugh: "You can go back and look at any liberal social program you want. You can look at the Great Society, the War on Poverty, AFDC, food stamps -- any program -- and it always costs far more than what we're told when the legislation is signed."

Short Takes

1) You have heard over and over again, oil prices are based upon a world market, and there is not much anyone (particularly a president) can do about it. Not really true. When it comes to drilling on federal lands, the federal government has a lot of control. It would not be difficult to require that a portion of this oil and resultant gas be sold only in local markets and tied to a price commensurate with the cost of getting the oil and refining it. At the very least, this would reduce the gas price below what speculators drive the price to. And the proof of this is simple: what do you think they pay for a gallon of gas in oil rich countries? Below $1. I’m talking per gallon, not liter.

exongas.jpg

2)  Here is a fascinating group of connections: “In November 1985, the Harvard Law Review published an article by Derrick Bell that was a ‘classic’ in the development of Critical Race Theory. The article was edited by then-student Elena Kagan, and was cited by Prof. Charles Ogletree in support of her nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court by President Barack Obama in 2010. The article makes clear that Critical Race Theory sees the U.S. Constitution as a form of "original sin" - a view later embraced by Obama as a state legislator, and reflected in his actions and appointments.”

3) There is a big problem with our system if Anthony Kennedy decides whether Obamacare is constitutional or not. The court has assumed too much authority for it to come to this.

By the Numbers

The federal government set a new monthly record deficit of $232 billion in February and has notched a total of $581 billion in the first five months of the fiscal year.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) counted 641 programs in place at 130 federal agencies in 2010 to prop up windmill technology and underwrite solar panel manufacturers.

The A.F.L.-C.I.O. endorses President Obama, they claim to have at least 400,000 people who will knock on doors and that they anticipated spending $400 million to reelect the president.

Four million Americans can expect to lose their employer-provided healthcare by 2016, because of the implementation of Obamacare, according to the revised figures, far more than the 1 million people estimated last year. Elsewhere, this number is said to be as high as 20 million.

A Little Bias

I must admit to being emotionally involved in the story that 80% of Obama green loans went out to Obama donors. If this was George W. Bush, this would be front page news all over, and there would be stories on this in EVERY newspaper and on every news report. There would be pundits calling for his ouster, now.

Any chance it might be a lead story? In case you think I exaggerate, remember the shooting in Arizona that was blamed on Sarah Palin’s targets and hot conservative rhetoric? That was discussed on the Sunday shows and found its way onto all the media outlets...and it wasn’t even true.

News Before it Happens

Whichever Republican candidate takes up the 5-year budget plan of Rand Paul or the Mack-Penny plan will have an excellent shot at being elected. Will Santorum, Gingrich or Romney come out in full-throated support of any of these plans? This will be a game-changer. We conservatives want to hear the words balanced budget and not 10 years from now. If Santorum grabs this flag, it will make him a real mano-a-mano opponent for Romney. Gingrich, less so. If Romney adheres to this, game over.

Let's Talk About the Real Issues, Mr. President

by Sarah Palin

The far Left continues to believe American voters are not smart enough to grasp the diversionary tactics it employs to distract us from the issues our President just doesn't want to talk about - issues that affect us all every day and must be addressed.

Exhibit A in these diversionary tactics is an absurd new attack ad President Obama has released taking my comments out of context. I'm not running for any office, but I'm more than happy to accept the dubious honor of being Barack Obama's "enemy of the week" if that includes the opportunity to debate him on the issues Americans are actually concerned about. (Remember when I said you don't need a title to make a difference?)

Just off the top of my head, a few of these concerning issues include: a debt crisis that has us hurtling towards a Greek-style collapse, entitlement programs going bankrupt, a credit downgrade for the first time in our history, a government takeover of the health care industry that makes care more expensive and puts a rationing panel of faceless bureaucrats between you and your doctor (aka a "death panel"), $4 and $5 gas at the pump exacerbated by an anti-drilling agenda that rejects good paying energy sector jobs and makes us more dependent on dangerous foreign regimes, a war in Afghanistan that seems unfocused and unending, a global presidential apology tour that's made us look feeble and ridiculous, a housing market in the tank, the longest streak of high unemployment since World War II, private-sector job creators and industry strangled by burdensome regulations and an out-of-control Obama EPA, an attack on the Constitutional protection of religious liberty, an attack on private industry in right-to-work states, crony capitalism run amok in an administration in bed with their favored cronies to the detriment of genuine free market capitalism, green energy pay-to-play kickbacks to Obama campaign donors, and a Justice Department still stonewalling on a bungled operation that armed violent Mexican drug lords and led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent people.

I'm sure I missed a few things, but the list is just for starters. Along with millions of others, I'm willing and free to discuss these issues with the President anywhere, anytime; and I'm sure any of the four patriots currently running for the GOP nomination would also welcome the opportunity to talk about the problems everyday Americans face due to the abject failure of our current administration's policies. The President will dismiss all of these problems by saying, "Well, uh, `change isn't easy.'" But considering that candidate Obama promised to turn back the waters and heal the planet, the American people had at least a reasonable expectation that, at the bare minimum, he wouldn't bankrupt our country.

debtbomb.jpg

This latest ad is quite odd, but also quite telling. It shows that our President sure seems fearful of discussing the economy, energy prices, and all the other problems people need addressed. And intended or not, now that his ad opens up the discussion of Barack Obama's radical past associations and the radical philosophy that shaped his ideas about his promised "fundamental transformation" of our country, I welcome the media to join ordinary Americans in finally vetting Barack Obama. The media failed to do so in 2008 to the detriment of us all. Maybe this time around they can do their job.

They might start by noting the President's heavily edited attack ad. Breitbart's Ben Shapiro helps them out in this piece. Please read it all.

Obama explains the Fluke story to his daughters

By DrJohn

Dear Sasha and Malia

The reason I called Ms. Fluke is because I thought about you two and one of the things that I want you to do as you get older is to engage in issues you care about, even ones that I may not agree with you on. And I don't want you attacked or called horrible names because you're being good citizens. But Sarah Palin is not a good citizen and so I don't mind if she is called horrible names.

All decent folks can agree that Rush Limbaugh's remarks don't have any place in the public discourse. We want to send a message to all our young people being part of the democracy involves argument and disagreements and debate. We want you to be engaged. And there's a way to do it that doesn't involve you being demeaned and insulted. Particularly when you're a private citizen. Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann are not young so it's OK to demean and insult them. They're not real people.

And don't you mind when my democrat friends call Republicans "teabagger." That's our nickname for Republicans who are members of the Tea Party. The real meaning of teabagger is someone who lowers his testicles into his partner's mouth but we democrats get such a kick out of referring to Republicans as teabaggers.

And you might have heard about Daddy's friend Richard Trumka. Mr. Trumka was talking about Republicans when he said that we have to "take those sons of bitches out" so it's not a bad thing. If Mr. Limbaugh said something like that, well that would have been bad.

xobamamysogeny.jpg

You might have heard that Daddy's friend Bill Maher had some things to say about Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann. Since they are Republicans, Daddy doesn't really consider them to be women and so Daddy doesn't mind when Mr. Maher calls them names like "c*nt", "boob" and "dumb twat." Those words aren't nearly as terrible as the word "slut." And we also have to remember that Mr. Maher gave Daddy's campaign a lot of money, so Daddy is more than willing to look the other way when someone gives me a lot of money.

So Daddy doesn't mind if someone calls a woman a bad name as long as she is a Republican and the person who said it gives Daddy a lot of money, or if he is the head of a union. Got it?

I'm glad we had this chat, girls.

Obama: "Don't Tell Me We're Not Drilling"

by Michael Graham

Hey, I won't tell him the truth if you won't.

"Don't tell me we're not drilling! We're drilling all over the country!" - President Obama, today.

OK, Mr. President, I won't tell you that you're not allowing drilling, or that you're hindering oil production or oil exploration. I'll let the experts tell you:

The Institute for Energy Research: "Oil leases, permits and wells on federal lands (where the President's policies have the most control were down 44%, 39% and 39% (respectively) in 2009 - 2010 as compared to 2007 - 2008."

Senior Energy Policy Analyst at SVP FBR capital Markets: "there are just 25 Mobile Offshore Drilling Units or `floaters' and 15 platforms drilling. That is 12% fewer floaters than were operating before the Macondo spill despite crude oil prices more than 25% higher...There continues to be a permitting constraint on Deepwater Gulf of Mexico drilling activity."

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal : The president should also start opening new fields where there is clear bipartisan local support-along the mid-Atlantic coast, the Eastern Gulf, and in Alaska's National Wildlife Refuge-and he should stop slow-walking lease sales for onshore drilling on federal lands, which in 2011 reached an all-time low (since 1984), when discounting for leases sold in previous years.

obamaenergy.jpg

James Adams, President and CEO of the Offshore Marine Service Association (OMSA), which represents more than 100 firms that operate marine service vessels in the Gulf of Mexico: The economic impacts of this permit slow-down or de facto moratorium are diverse and farreaching, affecting individuals and businesses in various industries across the Gulf Coast.businesses are indeed laying off workers, reducing hours and salaries, and limiting new hires as a result of the permit slow-down."

The NYTimes' "Greenwire" blog: "Oil production on federal lands fell by 100 million barrels in 2011 from 2010...Production of natural gas on public lands and waters in fiscal 2011 dropped 11 percent from the previous year, according to Interior Department data. Oil production dipped nearly 14 percent...

And from the Natural Truth: Yes it's true that overall oil production is up under Obama, but thanks almost entirely to energy development on private property in places like North Dakota. While private energy development is surging, the White House has taken public onshore production from 2,416 new leases in 2008 down to 1,308 in 2010.

And, according to the House Natural Resources Committee, Obama's own budget calls for revenue from energy leases to fall by 72 percent before he's through.

And in a classic "Obama" moment, the Washington Post has labeled Obama's claims about America's oil use and production "True But False." In other words, he's quoting facts, but the facts bear no relation to the actual issues at hand.

So don't tell Obama that he's not drilling. But don't even TRY to tell America's gas-buying voters that he IS.

Related to this story is the Washington Post’s “Fact Checker” on Obama’s oil claims. WaPo tilts liberal, so you know they are going to take it easy with Obama. However, they give him the odd final appraisal of True but False.

The Rush Section

CBO Analysis: 2014 is When the Real Obamacare Excrement Will Hit the Fan

RUSH: The Congressional Budget Office says that Obamacare is gonna cost twice what he told us. The magic number for Obamacare was a trillion dollars.

They had to keep that number under a trillion dollars in order to get it passed. I'm not gonna revisit why and I'm not gonna go back through all the details and the minutia and the arm twisting and the games they were playing to get Obamacare passed because they eventually got it passed. They tried toying around with the idea "deeming" it to have been passed, not even voting on it, a number of things. But it eventually got passed. One of the reasons they were able to get it passed was the price tag had to be under a trillion dollars. It's a brand-new entitlement. We were already accumulating mountains of new debt thanks to Obama's stimulus. And for some reason the magic number was $1 trillion.

Well, the reason was the Iraq war cost about a trillion dollars. So the selling point from the Democrats was that it wasn't gonna spend any new money. "We're just gonna get out of Iraq; we're gonna stop fighting the Iraq war. We're gonna take that money and put it where it really matters: Health care, affordable health care for all Americans!" And that's how they brought recalcitrant Democrats on board. It is how they lied to the American people and said, "Basically Obamacare is gonna be a wash. We're just gonna cancel the Iraq war, which is costing about trillion dollars and replace it with Obamacare, which is $900 billion." And at the time, for those of you who were here, we told you that it was a bogus number, that there was no way it could come in at $900 billion.

And that the CBO could only score what Congress members gave them.

CBO cannot make assumptions. The Congressional Budget Office can only score the cost of legislation based on the input or the data that they are given from members of Congress. Of course, it's "garbage in, garbage out." The data was flawed, and here's the proof: "President Obama's national health care law will cost $1.76 trillion over a decade, according to a new projection released today by the Congressional Budget Office, rather than the $940 billion forecast when it was signed into law. Democrats employed many accounting tricks when they were pushing through the national health care legislation, the most egregious of which was to delay full implementation of the law until 2014, so it would appear cheaper under the CBO's standard ten-year budget window and, at least on paper, meet Obama's pledge that the legislation would cost 'around $900 billion over 10 years.'"

It had to be under a trillion. That was the magic number. So, again, to explain the implementation trick: You have a ten-year piece of legislation. The tax increases would happen immediately. The moment the bill was signed, the tax increases would start. Now, theoretically, revenue thus collected would pour into the Treasury. The spending side of Obamacare or the benefits side -- (chuckles) which is laughable -- was delayed for four years, 2014. There were two reasons for that. One of the reasons was by 2014, Obama's no longer accountable. He's not running for election again at 2014. He's either been defeated or he's been reelected.

He's either in office in his second term or out of office when the real excrement hits the fan. And 2014, if it isn't repealed, is when the real excrement is going to hit the fan. And that was put off. That was delayed for four years so that the excrement wouldn't hit the fan at the time of the vote or during Obama's reelection, and also to allow four years of tax collections to be measured against only six years of spending on the benefits side. That is how they kept it under a trillion dollars. That was the... It's not even an "accounting trick." It was... Ah, guess you could call it an accounting trick. Basically it was a game that was being played to allow the cost of Obamacare to come in at under a trillion dollars.

Because if at the same time the bill is signed into law and the tax collections start the benefits or spending side started, we'd have ten years of spending that we would have to measure, not six. And thus that $940 billion would have been what we were told yesterday it's going to cost. All that's happened here, folks, is that the CBO has essentially said, "Here's the cost of Obamacare if it all implements at the same time." That is not technically what happened here. What they have found is that the spending side is going to be far more costly than anybody ever knew, which (wink, wink) it always is. You can go back and look at any liberal social program you want.

You can look at the Great Society, the War on Poverty, AFDC, food stamps -- any program -- and it always costs far more than what we're told when the legislation is signed. It never costs less. It never costs the same, major entitlement legislation like this. So yesterday "the CBO released new projections from 2013 extending through 2022, and the results are as [we] critics expected: the ten-year cost of the law's core provisions to expand health insurance coverage has now ballooned" from $940 billion "to $1.76 trillion." It's almost doubled, and, "That's because we now have estimates for Obamacare's first nine years of full implementation," the tax-collections and the spending/benefits, "rather than the mere six when it was signed into law.

"Only next year will we get a true ten-year cost estimate," This is still not the full cost estimate. This is nine years of spending implementation instead of six. That's "if the law isn't overturned by the Supreme Court or repealed by then. Given that in 2022, the last year available, the gross cost of the coverage expansions are $265 billion, we're likely looking at about $2 trillion" for Obamacare in its first 10 years "or more than double what Obama advertised." And, by the way, I'm gonna be blunt: What Obama advertised was a knowing falsehood. What Obamacare and every proponent said about this was knowingly false.

They knew it was going to cost more than $940 billion. They knew it because they had to delay the spending by four years to get it under a trillion dollars. They knew! Once again the American people were (I'll be charitable) "misled" about the true cost. And you will then learn later on that you were misled about every aspect of this. You will not be able to keep your doctor. You will not be able to keep your plan. Your plan isn't going to exist! Your plan is gonna go out of business because your employer is going to off-load your benefit. He's gonna off-load it to whoever can take it. If Obama gets his way, there will not be alternative private sector health insurance businesses.

They'll be out of business. The only place you'll be able to go is one of these state exchanges where you will put into a giant pool with everybody else that essentially will be run from Washington. That's what's ahead of us. And with a $2 trillion cost instead of $940 billion, you can imagine what tax rates will do, given the way Democrats operate. This is the greatest single excuse to raise taxes they've had in I don't know how long. They are salivating over this. This news does not make them unhappy. It might bother 'em from an election standpoint, but in the real world, they're ecstatic with this news. This equals an automatic tax increase, and they think you have no choice but than to agree with it.

RUSH: Yeah, I'm gonna get to the Republican primaries, the elections last night. We're gonna get... It's a three-hour program. I'll get to it. Everything's playing out exactly as I thought it would. Everything's playing out as I told you. Relax. Let it play out. It's all playing out. I'll explain in mere moments. But I want to stick with this health care, because there are two elements here. Back in March of 2010, right before the vote on Obamacare, we pointed out that the CBO report was a total fabrication, there's a report that says the cost of $940 billion. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office itself said it was just an estimate since they had still not seen the bill. Do you remember that? They hadn't seen the bill they were scoring!

They were only given outline figures by the Democrats. It was a total snow job. Folks, it was a giant snow job on everybody, but it was worse than that, even. We had Paul Ryan, Republican budget expert, member of the House, on the phone, and he pointed out how the Congressional Budget Office was double-counting everywhere to try to get this phony $940 billion number. I asked him if they were double-counting Medicare, which rendered the $940 billion irrelevant. And he said, "Correct, it's not. They double-count CLASS Act premiums.

"They're double-counting Social Security taxes. They double-count $522 billion in Medicare cuts to make this thing look as if it's adding up." So basically what they did... This has not changed, either. The Democrats, Obama, cut "a half a trillion dollars out of Medicare. That's supposed to go to Medicare and make it solvent. But they're using it instead as a piggy bank to pay for this new program. So they're taking it from Medicare, but at the same time they're claiming they're extending Medicare's solvency. So they're counting those cuts twice, when in fact they're using this money to create a new entitlement."

That was Paul Ryan on this program March 18th.

This is a giant scam, folks.

RUSH: You know that I have the utmost respect for all of you: Your intelligence, your ability to follow this, your memories and so forth. I don't want to create a bunch of minutia here with a bunch of acronyms like CBO (Congressional Budget Office). The bottom line of all this, the real point when you synthesize it down, is that the Democrats -- from Obama on down -- lied everywhere about health care. They lied about the cost; they lied about how cheap premiums are gonna be; they lied about how the tax increases would be minimal to fund this. They cut $500 billion out of Medicare and then counted that again when they put it back into the health care bill to show that Medicare would not be cut.

It was outrageous what happened here: Delaying the spending side of the entitlement for four years while collecting taxes immediately.

And what's happened now is that the CBO has more data to factor, and they've discovered that with nine years of full implementation, the cost is not $940 billion, but instead it is $1.76 trillion. It's almost twice. And by the time we're able to factor a full ten years in, the cost will be double. And we don't have the money. We do not have the money! We don't have the money for anything that we are spending. We just don't have it. It all gets added to the national debt and it all gets added to the income tax rate that your kids and grandkids are going to pay years from now. Your children and grandchildren's lifetime tax payments have been spent, at current tax rates.

Your kids... This is statistical, now. Some people are gonna earn a lot more than others, but in a statistical average: Your kids, your grandkids' total lifetime tax payments have already been spent. What do you think their rate is going to be to accommodate the spending above and beyond what's taken place with that revenue? Now, Daniel Foster, National Review Online, had a great point about all this. He said, "The question has never been whether Obamacare will fail by failing to make [health care] cheaper, or incurring massive per-person costs for its coverage. Rather, the question's been whether it'll fail quickly and spectacularly enough that the political will throughout this country is to repeal it."

obamamandate.jpg

And that was another reason for delaying the six years of benefits. Because it's really a misconception to call it "benefits." Think of it as delaying the implementation of government being involved in health care. That doesn't start 'til 2014, although they're creeping in. They've had to give waivers -- over a thousand waivers -- to companies who would otherwise be out of business today, and that wouldn't look good for Obama's reelection. Those waivers are going to end. So what Foster's talking about here is, if the impact of this (and it's going to be bad) is felt quickly, then the political will among the people to get rid of it will be very high.

If it's a slow, gradual implementation such as: You put a frog in a pot of room-temperature water, put it on the stove, and then turn on the heat; the frog has no clue it's dead. It has no clue it's boiling to death for many, many minutes. Same thing here. You dump the frog into a pot of boiling water and the thing will jump right out of there. Same with us. If this pot of water that is the health care is boiling when it gets implemented, we're not gonna put up with it. That's one of the key elements. And there are, to my mind, enough things happening that will make that possible. We already have, in terms of polling data on this issue, well over 50% of the American people want this health care repealed just on general principles.

You wait until this thing starts being implemented to see what happens. "Did anyone else notice the Department of Health and Human Services rule that was finalized yesterday? It establishes state health-care exchanges under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. And an abortion premium mandate." The Hill.com "breaks it down: 'To comply with the accounting requirement, plans will collect a $1 abortion surcharge from each premium payer. The enrollee will make two payments, $1 per month for abortion and another payment for the rest of the services covered. As described in the rule, the surcharge can only be disclosed to the enrollee at the time of enrollment.

"'Furthermore, insurance plans may only advertise the total cost of the premiums without disclosing that enrollees will be charged a $1 per month fee to pay directly subsidize abortions.'" This was made active yesterday, maybe the day before. (I was out Monday so the days are running together here.) But Kathleen Sebelius Department of Health and Human Services implemented a rule that establishes state health care exchanges, mandate an abortion premium collection of a dollar a month from everybody. Now how many of you thought during all this that the Democrats and Obama promised that something like this wouldn't happen?

Remember ol' Bart Stupak? Good old Bart, Democrat from Wisconsin, a pro-life Democrat, made a big scene out of holding out. He was one of the last votes. He was "following his conscience," and he was not gonna vote for this unless he was assured that not a federal penny would be used in any way to pay for abortion. And they said, "Okay, well, you want it, you got it." And whether he believed 'em or not, he had the cover. They gave him cover, he backed bill, and where is he today? They lied to him. He either knew they were lying or he got snookered, but it was implemented yesterday. So two things with the health care bill:

Mandatory abortion premium collections from everybody in the health care system, and we've now learned that the cost of Obamacare is going to be more than double. And that's where we are on that.

RUSH: When Obama took office, the government was 21% of gross domestic product. Meaning of the entire economic output, government took up 21% of it. In three years Obama has increased that to 23%. That is massive, given the numbers -- the overall size -- that we're talking about. And he's on track to go even higher.

That is the fastest increase in government spending as a percentage of overall economic output since World War II. And he did it, and he continues to do it. And it doesn't factor -- it does not factor -- the latest news on all of this new health care cost that we learned. It's gonna be twice what we were told. So right now government takes up twenty 23% of GDP. It was 21% when he took office. It's projected to go to 25%. A full one quarter of the US economy taken out. In other words, what Obama's done since he took office is transfer 4% of the American economy to government.

Where nothing is produced.

Where no wealth is created.

The only thing that happens is wealth is destroyed.

And that is precisely what is happening. Where you hear me say that there are two million fewer jobs in the universe of jobs since Obama was inaugurated, this is why. He simply usurped -- he's just taken, transferred -- 4% of the private sector economy and moved it to government. Well, 2% now and it's projected to go to 4%.

Media Portrays Obama as Gas Price Savior

RUSH: I want to go back to me on this program and a prediction that I made yesterday.

RUSH ARCHIVE: So now he's gonna release oil from the Strategic Reserves because they say it's supposed to lower prices. And the media is gonna be right in here, folks. The media is gonna be jumping for joy with this and doing exactly what they're supposed to do. The news is going to be, "Obama cares! He's not waiting for the oil companies. Somebody has to act! Somebody has to care about the American people. Somebody has to care about the price of gasoline! They say that presidents can't do anything about it."

Have you heard that all week, by the way?

"Well, guess what? The One has found a way to do something about it!"

That's what's gonna get reported here.

RUSH: And let's go to ABC's World News Tonight. Fill-in anchor David Muir opened the broadcast...

MUIR: Welcome to World News Tonight. Pumped up! Could gas prices finally be coming down? Tonight, is there a secret plan? Is the president on the verge of action?

RUSH: Do I know these people or do I know these people? I predicted yesterday that the media would pick this ball up and run with it. "There's one guy who can bring gasoline prices down! One man who cares, only one man who cares about gas prices: The One, 'Baraka' Obama." And there is ABC's World News Tonight setting it all up. Now, what did we learn about this yesterday? Well, first there was a report that Cameron, the prime minister Britain, and Obama had agreed to a joint release of oil from the Strategic Reserves of both countries. Markets reacted to this. So did we. About 45 minutes after that, the White House press secretary, Jay Carney, said (paraphrased):

"That's false. There's no agreement. Nobody's agreed release oil. I mean, yeah, they talked about energy. What would you expect? But there's no agreement." Well, Reuters had an exclusive detailing the agreement. National Journal had a story on it. TheHill.com had a story. And Reuters is back today, "Exclusive: US, Britain Set to Agree on Emergency Oil Stocks Release." They posted this about six hours ago now. They've not pulled it. And all this is is a tweaked version of their original story from yesterday, with a few updates on the White House denials. Now, I have no doubt that Obama and Cameron discussed this or that Obama's plan is to do it this summer closer to the elections.

I have no doubt. In fact, yesterday when we heard that they were gonna release oil from the Strategic Reserve, I asked, "Why now? There's no electoral benefit. There's no interruption in our oil supply and there's no shortage. There's no emergency, there's no crisis in terms of supply. You don't release oil from the Strategic Reserves (which are about a 36-day supply) just because prices go up unless you're doing it for political reasons," and, of course, Obama is. So Carney didn't deny that they had discussed using the Strategic Reserves. He just denied that a deal had been reached on the release or the timeline. So I think this Reuters story was an embarrassing leak of Obama's strategic plans for his reelection.

Because Reuters hasn't pulled it. I don't have any doubt that they have a deal and a timeline to release oil from the Strategic Reserves, but they're not gonna do it until there's some political benefit to it. Speaking of political benefit, let put something else out there. I was talking to a good friend the other day about this, and we were discussing possibilities of something happening on a scale of one to ten. Let's say it's October. No, no, not "October Surprise." I'm not going there, 'cause this wouldn't be a surprise. But let's go to October under our hypothetical here, and let's say Obama's still at 41%, and let's say the gas prices are higher. Let's say it's looking bad.

What do you think, on a scale of one to ten, the possibilities are of Obama attacking (the United States attacking) Iran to shut down its nuclear program in October? Where would you put that possibility on a scale of one to ten? And let's add something else to it. The president announces that we're taking military action. "We have conclusive proof now." This all hypothetical. This is October. "We have conclusive proof they're building a nuclear weapon. We're not gonna let it stand! I've said all along as president, we're not gonna be let it stand."

They launch the attack, whatever, and then say, "We can't -- in the midst of this important move regarding American foreign policy, we can't -- change horses in the middle of the stream. We can't pass this on to another administration." What are the odds? Where would you put that on a scale of one to ten being possible? If gasoline prices are still this high or higher by October, then inflation will have gone through the roof. So some kind of distraction will be needed, and a distraction that theoretically would unite the nation. I'm just asking.

Panic on the Left: The Polls are Broken and the Voters are Stupid

RUSH: I sit here and I marvel at the ease with which the Democrats and the left create literal false realities -- not even realities -- they create false illusions. This may be redundant to even say. But remember, folks, I opened today's busy broadcast by telling you that there's abject panic in the White House, and there is, and Obama's speech to the community college students in Maryland today is evidence of a huge defensive posture when it comes to energy and gasoline and oil. These two polls, the Washington Post, New York Times polls on Monday, New York Times in particular, the president's approval number at an all-time low in that poll at 41%. The whole war on women is not working. I'm still here. You are still here in larger than ever numbers, sponsors are still here and you are still patronizing them.

This guy that called yesterday from Michigan about his book, when he called he was at 302,000 on Amazon. At the end of the program yesterday he was at number four on the fiction list. Up from 302,000 to fourth place in fiction, all because of you in this audience patronizing his book just from essentially one noncommercial commercial. I was supposed to be gone. You were supposed to be gone. Talk radio was supposed to be finished. And as we played for you earlier, Wolf Blitzer wringing his hands together on CNN saying that the real casualty here may be Bill Maher, all the attention focused on what Bill Maher says. There probably is gonna be a crimp in Bill Maher's act for a while 'cause everybody's pay attention to it. Axelrod, Obama's chief campaign strategerist, was supposed to appear on Maher's show soon. He canceled. Not going to appear. So all this attention that they heaped on me has backfired and is focusing on areas that they had no idea people would care about or look at. But I want to illustrate some of this with some sound bites, particularly on the polling data.

RUSH: Tuesday night on C-SPAN's simulcast of Politico.com's coverage of the Mississippi, Alabama, Hawaii primaries, the executive editor, Jim VandeHei and the editor-in-chief John Harris are discussing an article looking at recent polling data. And VandeHei says, "There was a good debate inside the Politico today. There's a piece that looked at the state of the American voter. Tell the people what the thesis of the story was, John."

HARRIS: Some of these poll results, they just seem stupid. So I asked Alex Burns to, said, "Why don't you do a piece looking at the question of whether voters are stupid and a lot of the things that they say in these polls are just plain stupid." And Alex warmed to the assignment and he wrote this, actually found a number of good voices from pollsters who say, "Yeah, that's the first thing you learn as a pollster, voters are stupid." He meant that often they're expressing their opinions in a context of ignorance.

RUSH: Now, isn't this fascinating? We've got two polls which show the bottom falling out on Obama, the war on women not working. In fact, I'm an army of one in the war against women. I am still standing. By the way, there's a book written about me. If you're new to this program, and you want to get as close to the truth as anything that's been published is, there's a book called An Army of One, and it's about me. It's by a guy named Zev Chafets. It's also available at Amazon and any number of places. An Army of One, that's his title. That's not my ego. I had no choice in the title. I could have disagreed, it wouldn't have mattered. It was his title.

Here we have two polls which show Obama trailing with women. In the Washington Post poll he lost four points after this whole attempt to create the phony Republican war on women via contraception, abortion. So now these guys are looking at the people who participate in polls, and do you notice the derision with which Harris uses the word "stupid"? (imitating Harris) "These people are just stupid." Listen to sound bite one again and pay attention to that.

HARRIS: Some of these poll results, they just seem stupid. So I asked Alex Burns to, said, "Why don't you do a piece looking at the question of whether voters are stupid and a lot of the things that they say in these polls are just plain stupid."

RUSH: Okay, that's it. Stupid. These people are just stupid. They're talking about their own polls. And later on he says, "Often they're expressing their opinions in a context of ignorance." Well, why don't you educate 'em with your polling question, then? If they're so stupid, why don't you educate them in the form of the question? So we voters are too stupid to appreciate all the great things Obama's done. We're too stupid to appreciate the brilliant political ploy he played last week. We're too stupid. We didn't have the sense to understand it and play along with it and applaud him for a phony, nonexistent Republican war on women.

I just find it fascinating, after all of these years of polls and these guys have used polls to make news, not reflect it, they have used these polls to create public opinion, and all of a sudden two bad polls in the same day and the respondents are stupid. Late yesterday afternoon on MSNBC the guest was Georgetown University professor Michael Eric Dyson, and they were talking about Obama's recent poll numbers. We have two bites from Michael Eric Dyson.

BASHIR: We've seen a slew of polls with varying results on the President's approval rating from 41% as you know to 50. Are the polls broken?

RUSH: That's the host on MSNBC. (imitating Bashir) "Are the polls broken? The president's approval numbers have fallen precipitously from 50 to 41%, are the polls broken, Mr. Dyson?" And here was his answer.

DYSON: Yeah, it's very difficult to tell. The mechanics of trying to determine whether or not Obama is successful is not about the math; it's about the chemistry. And so here I think what's going on is that Obama strikes a nerve in the heart of the American middle states as well as some of those states that are significantly blue.

RUSH: What? Do you understand that? The question was, are the polls broken? And, well, you know, the American middle states, some of those states are significantly blue, it's what's going on here, Obama's striking a nerve there. Huh? Professor Dyson, you might want to ask MSNBC if you can go back on and try another take of that.

RUSH: It's not that the polls are broken. Maybe it's that the numbers are so bad, the media cannot manipulate them enough to hide the decline taking place with Obama. Maybe that's what's going on. The numbers are so bad they can't manipulate them enough and still maintain credibility after they do that.

We got one big, exciting broadcast hour remaining, and it starts very soon.

RUSH: We just shared with you John Harris and Michael Eric Dyson (John Harris, Politico; Michael Eric Dyson, professor at Georgetown) worried "Are the polls broken? The people in these polls are just stupid! They're just stupid!" All because the New York Times has Obama's approval at 41% and it's an all-time low. Let's go back. We have a montage here from March 13th of 2006. Now, for those of you new to the program, this is hilarious. This is what we do here all the time. On March 13th, 2006, when George W. Bush reached an all-time low in a CNN poll, Wolf Blitzer did not ask if the polls were "broken." Wolf Blitzer did not speculate that maybe the people in the polls were stupid.

Wolf Blitzer celebrated it!

BLITZER, MARCH 13, 2006: It's 4 p.m. here in Washington. So you're getting the first look right now at our brand-new poll. The president's job approval rating has taken a downward turn again, falling to only 36%. [break] This represents his lowest rating ever in the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll. [break] The president's poll numbers are pretty bad, pretty awful right now, rock bottom as far as the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll. [break] The president's Iraq problem and his new low point in the polls. [break] His approval and policies now are at new lows. [break] The president's job approval number in this new CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, rock bottom, the lowest it's ever been. [break] It's 5 p.m. here in Washington where President Bush takes a beating in our latest poll. His approval rating at a low ebb. [break] Our latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll just out in the past hour shows the president at an all-time low. [break] His job approval rating at a new low. [break] That's rock bottom as far as our poll is concerned. [break] It's 7 p.m. here in Washington. The war in Iraq comes home to roost for President Bush. Our latest poll numbers showing his approval rating at a new low. [break] Also: President Bush hits a new low in the polls. [break] Now back to our lead story: President Bush's approval rating now at an all-time low. [break] As we noted, a new CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows his job approval rating at a new low. [break] President Bush's approval rating at a new low, 36%.

RUSH: We didn't repeat any of those.

Those are actual, singular instances.

When Bush hit "a new low in the polls," the polls were not "broken" and the people weren't "stupid." No, it wasn't time to celebrate! Do you know what the unemployment rate was in March 13th, 2006? You know what the unemployment rate was then? Take a guess. Come on, you guys! It was 4.7%. The unemployment rate when Wolf Blitzer was celebrating Bush's "all-time low approval number" was 4.7%, March 13th of 2006. Today the unemployment rate is 8.3%. The economy is in a free-fall disaster. The polls show Obama has hit an all-time low in the New York Times poll, and this is how the media reports that.

RUSH: Now, if a new poll comes out and shows Obama's approval up to 50, guess what? The voters will no longer be stupid, I guess, right? Nope! They can't possibly be stupid if they get it right in the next poll. That's who we're dealing with.

RUSH: John in Louisville. Great to have you on the EIB Network, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. It's honor to talk to you today.

RUSH: Thank you very much, sir. I appreciate that.

CALLER: Hey, I just was curious what the left hopes to gain by talking down to and thumbing their noses at the participants of their own polls. Because it just seems to me to be an example of this leftist arrogance and self-righteous attitude they have and that kind of contempt anyone who disagrees with them.

RUSH: Well, let me turn it back on you, because it's an interesting question. What do you think? And I know you're reacting to John Harris and his reaction to these polls: "People are stupid." What do you think they hope to gain?

CALLER: (sigh) I honestly don't know because I don't really follow it. I don't follow left-wing pollsters.

RUSH: Okay, well, then let me tell you. Let me tell you. The program that this occurred on, John, was a Politico podcast that was being broadcast on C-SPAN, which meant that it had very small audience and that the audience was an inside baseball audience. John Harris was not talking to people like you. He was talking to other journalists. I think there's a good rule of thumb to keep in mind as you watch television news or as you read a mainstream media network (or website, newspaper, whatever). This is the key to understand: They are writing for each other.

When you see, say, a guy like Chuck Todd go on MSNBC in the morning to talk about whatever's happening in the news, Chuck is talking to fellow journalists at CBS and ABC and so forth. He's impressing them with what he knows, that he's got the daily template and narrative down. They're talking to each other. So when John Harris says, "Ah, the people in these polls are just stupid," he's talking to other journalists: This is the way we're gonna cover this. He's sending out the message: This is the way we're gonna deal with it, saying people in these polls are stupid.

He wasn't, in his own mind, talking to people like you.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: He doesn't think that he's insulting you by doing this. He's alerting others in his own circle what the story is going to be: Ah, these polls, these people are just stupid.

CALLER: (chuckling)

RUSH: It's a very closed society, and they write and broadcast for each other.

CALLER: Okay. Humph. Well, that's why I keep it dialed into you, man.

RUSH: You should. But it would be the same thing as if I were to tell you everything I do here is so other talk show hosts will hear how smart I am. That's not what I do. My total attention here is on you. This is why I do not put my audience down. I, in fact, have a profound respect for the intelligence and knowledge the people in this audience have of the events that I discuss. And not just that, but the ability of people in this audience to understand it when I talk about it. I have total confidence and faith and total respect and love for people this audience. I would never say the people in my audience are stupid, and I would never say the people in my own poll are stupid, but they do. They think it.

John, they already think you're stupid! They already think you're an idiot. They already think you don't have the sense to run your own life, that somebody like them and Obama has to. You're not wise enough to make the right decisions in life for you and your family. You don't have the sense to spend your money in the right way. That's why you gotta pay higher taxes so government makes sure that the money gets spent the right way. You won't do it the right way, according to them. They have a superiority complex and there is an arrogant condescension that they have toward their own audience. John, try an experiment. Call your local newspaper and complain about bias, and I guarantee you that the answer you'll get will be like:

"Well, sir, you don't really understand what we do here. You don't understand." Or: "You're just some right-wing pig!" and they'll hang up on you. The news business (and believe me, it's a business) is the only business I know where the customer is an idiot and always wrong, and doesn't have the ability to understand what the people in the business do. You're just not bright enough. And that is an attitude they have about most of the people in the country. Now, they don't have that attitude about each other, which is for whom they write and for whom they broadcast and for whom they intend what they say and heard to be read.

Really, it sounds crazy and it sounds ridiculous. It sounds like, "Oh, come on, Rush. That's oversimplifying this." No, it's not. It's precisely it. I'm not the one who said the people in the polls are stupid. The Politico guy did, and the caller here is asking me why, and that's the answer. They think you're stupid to begin with. When they get the right answer they want in a poll, it's not that you're brilliant or right; it's that they have successfully manipulated you into the right answer. They give themselves all the credit. When they get a polling result that shows Obama approval numbers through the roof, they pat themselves on the back for a good poll. When the poll doesn't turn out the way they want it, they didn't screw up; you're stupid.

That's just who they are.

That's just how they're made.

RUSH: Karen in Richmond, Virginia, I'm glad you waited. Hi.

CALLER: Thank you. Hi, Rush. We conservatives need to start making a demand of our own for separation of press and state. The press is the only First Amendment entity that hasn't been penned in, hemmed in somehow, and I've been thinking about this for a week or so, and the only thing I can think of to begin with is a demand that these little press meetings in the White House every day cease and --

RUSH: No, no, no, no, no, that's never gonna happen, and we don't want that to happen. You don't want the press to stop talking to government. You don't want the press to stop having press conferences and stuff. I know what you mean by separation of press and state. What you mean is, these people have become the administration. They are an arm. They are an adjunct. They're willing accomplices. They're no longer treating powerful Democrats with curiosity or suspicion like they do Republicans. They are actually part of the Democrat Party agenda now.

CALLER: And they are not fulfilling their constitutional assignment.

RUSH: That's right. They have a very important constitutional role they're abrogating. I actually think, Karen, and I must take partial blame for this. I've done this before. This is nothing new. Before I came along in 1988, there was no other national conservative media then. In fact, the only cable news network was CNN. Back when I started, it was ABC, CBS, NBC, Washington Post, New York Times, LA Times, and USA Today was out there, and CNN. That was it. And now there is an entire alternative, very powerful media. And so they find themselves for the first time with their monopoly no longer in existence, and they find themselves with competition, and so they can no longer get away with faking objectivity and pretending to not be part of the Democrat Party. Now they've just owned up to it. Now they're making no pretenses, and they're not trying to hide it. That's the difference here.
